- In this video, “Kutaura kwaRubeni… 2018” … we hear the Holy Spirit teach with humour, foresight
and wisdom. It starts by elaborating how traditional gender roles should be respected in church and in our homes. The Spirit of heaven then proceeds to explain, again, with humour how certain individuals receive the “calling”, stating that “it is what is within you that I want on this journey”. The Holy Spirit then teaches how our totems or clan symbols originated from something simple only to evolve into the many we have today. The congregation is taught briefly on the etymology of certain clan names (e.g. vayera mheta kana kuti nyoka ihove kana kuti dziva).
Being that it was preparation for baptism, instructions to ready the people for the ceremony are revealed, explained and elaborated. For example, on this occasion, the purpose of the Ark is
revealed symbolically. What it is bringing to the upcoming baptism is explained. However, the Holy Spirit further elaborated on how through a translation misnomer, “Nehoreka” became Noah’s Ark when in fact it means the lion of Judah. Other misnomers are humorously explained to the congregation. All in all, the objective at this stage was to ready the people with wisdom.
The prayer verse “Vamwe vakaenda naNoah, vamwe ndokusara munzira” … summarises how
difficult it is to follow the work of God. The Holy Spirit underscores this very point when it says,
“there is no healing greater than the words which I speak when I am with you”. The messages in this video are witty and profound. In conclusion, the term Israel is explained, which means tribe.
Salutations are given to Israel as this session of the prayers comes to an end.
