I live in California. I just started flying again because I have a lot of time on my hands because of kidney cancer - I had to medically retire from the fire service as a fire captain at the end of 2017. I am flying with my youngest son and we are having the most amazing time. He is learning to fly on a Carbon Cub and I am flying an Eflite P-51 Mustang 🐴. Love watching you guys. I want to come to Slovenia 🇸🇮 and fly with you. Promise!

Ive been looking for that plane but everytime I find it i dont have the money. I have a true love for that plane and the bombers. I just got into this. Because of u guys. Thank you so much. I suggest 2 things - first increase the wheel size as much as will fit, second rake the gear forward as much as possible without binding on the wheel wells and then you will have half a chance at great landings. Great warbird, great flight, oh and the pilot wasn't bad either! You guys are brave and skilled because we always see you flying the maiden flight of a new plane which we all know is usually a knee shaker!

10:45 That was such a nice scale shot. High quality, but also highly zoomed so it looked so real. Landing without trimming the plastic near those wheels will be many nose overs from them digging in. Glad you liked the tail mixing.

Thanks my friend. I was trying to hit the carpet but its not so easy as it looks. Still I love this baby and I cant wait to fly it again. And we have filmed after asembley video with Corsair to see it in all its glory while it is still in one piece.
If the plane comes back in one piece, it was a good landing. That FW190 looked great up there and the inner turbine gave it a bit of a different sound. I liked it, great job fellas.
Like you said my friend. I knew that I will tip it over if I will miss the carpet. But at the end it was good enough for maiden flight. I will take it.

Love the paint job ! looks great far more realistic than the original out the box. You should change the length of time the retracts and doors come up and down. I have my wheels slightly offset and slower coming up and down which looks so scale which you can do so easily on the Spektrum transmitter 😉
Great flight and video guys! I bought mine from Hobbyking back in 2015. They were on sale for $100. I bought 2 because they did not carry spare parts. I still have both of them, one still in the box! It is made by TopRC which you can get spare parts for it from Castle RC in Japan. Cheers, Ricky

Good Review! I have tried all the Foam FW-190 same size. The one I like the best is the, FlightLine version. Then the Parkzone FW-190. They are all great fliers but not so good on the grass. The one to really stay away from, unless you want to just hang it up from the ceiling is the Flyzone FW-190.
Hey, nice maiden Pilot Robert and Capt. Blaz! I just took my FW 190 for its' maiden yesterday, also! The FMS one is a bit slower, but handles the grass well. I just had some bouncy landings. That's some nice detailing and weathering on the plane you did. Now that I've flown the FW 190, the other planes waiting in the hangar will start coming out for their maiden flights! Happy flying fellow flyers! :)

I've got one of those and modified the landing gear with bigger 55" wheels with replacement sprung U/C, with a slight forward rake and it's landing problem's are sorted. With just a little DIY that Focke wolf is a really nice plane.
@@PetrincicBrosRC I really did so much messing about with the U/C to make it land nice, but you are already so busy with so much other stuff I can understand that you can live with it as it is.

A very nice maiden my friends. This model is perfect for tarmac or artificial grass but on normal grass i had no chance. The landings for this bird is always prone to flip over. You cant beat them all. Great job though. 👍👍👍👍
I`ve had this plane for about a year. i just did a maiden then on the second flight, i slammed it into a light pole at a local school. i was coming in for a landing at a good speed, it did little damage. Had this been a FMS, or a eflite, it would have demolished the cowl and front end of fuselage. But because HKing put such a thick cowl it just dented the front of the cowl

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a video with so much talking in it this much, ever! Normally it's like, just shut up and show us the model flying, but you two are such great characters you made the video immensely enjoyable! :D I have had this model a good few years now and it flies equally well on 3s 2200 lipos. Totally agree with the problems taking off and landing on grass. I actually flew mine for the first time in ages last Sunday, and with no one else at the patch I had to manage with a cack handed self hand launch. That gave a moment I can tell you! But once away she flew as beautifully as ever. Then bought in for the slowest wheels up landing I could manage with power off at the last second.

To whom it may concern, General hobby has a few I got two a few months ago. I think they still have props. This plane is a fave great for dead stick I start to take my turn in for landing cut power and she floats in better to land on hard surfaces. Grass I do a steep landing come in steep flair up and land in a few feet less damage to landing gear.
Hi ... Great Video ... well R/C flying lead me to big plane flying. I learned to change trim with airspeed. The same applies with models. Now I am old and no longer fly the larger planes, but I find that if these techniques apply to models. When flying the larger planes, the elevator is used to set the angle of attack of the wing and the throttle is used to go up and down. For a landing, I give a little up trim while reducing power and the plane will settle in slightly nose high very nicely. This increases the drag and sets up the decent rate. When flying close to the ground you do not want to make a mistake, so you set the trim for your approach speeds and concentrate on the decent rate. You do very little fiddling with the elevator. If you are short you add power and if you are landing long you reduce the power. You do not play with the elevator. Using trim to set the angle of attack is much steadier and keeps you from bouncing up and down with turbulence or mishandling of the elevator. Only use a touch of elevator for the flare. Don't get too slow on decent, however, for you do not want to stall the plane. Practice your descents at altitude to learn the technique and you will grease your landings every time. The first thing I do when maidening a plane is to take off and fly descents only to get a feel of how the plane will land. Love your vids. Keep 'em coming. I look for them every time I turn on the P/C.

Great advice on making great landings. I sometimes watch this guy fly his planes on the beach and he will often nail the landing and just leave you saying ` Wow, That was as smooth as butter. That could not have gone better`
Ahhh, Pilot Robert ... I feel badly. Please don't feel I am criticizing your flying. You make the perfect landings 99.9% of the time on a maiden flight. This is far better than I. I only wanted to mention this technique for those times when coming in slower would help ... such as landing in the quarry. Putting a plane down in that negatively sloped lane is very difficult. But watch out when using this technique. It only takes a click or so of up and you need to compensate with the throttle. I do believe it would really help in the quarry. It’s an unpleasant build, the paint is easy to flake off and the directions were awful. But once on the runway and in the air it’s as solid as the Flightline 1600mm P-38, Corsair, and Spitfire. I was stunned. Very stable, faster than I expected with the stock prop. Overall, well worth the price paid. It’s just a good old fashioned build. If I had it to do over again I’d spray the surfaces with clear polycrylic and see if that would help with paint coming off. Thanks for doing this video. It’s the reason I bought it a year ago.
A great flying FW.190,the undercarriage is sensible for flying off grass,those long legs spell disaster,Robert has been using his paintbrush to do the whirlyjig spinner !
Very nice model and good maiden! When I fly for first time my models, I always find how the plane handles a full stole and slow flight using an elevator trim. I never land my planes trimmed for cruise speed, ?!? Keep making the videos, our season is over in Montreal !?!

I bought one of these from HobbyKing around the same time as you posted this video and I must say how disappointed I am when I compare mine with yours. To begin with, the wings on mine are painted plain gray with no camo at all and the the retracts are operated by a single servo mounted in the center of the wing with 2 rods pushing and pulling the landing gear into position. Yours appears to have proper individual retracts. In addition, there appears to be no center wing strut inside the wing and running a strong magnet over the wing surface indicates further that there simply isn't one.

Pilot Robert that landing was good I just think the prop caught the grass. Like you said real short grass or asphalt. I’m waiting for the Corsair.. that one is really and one of my favorites.sweet. This plane was a real beauty too. Love what you did to it
Thanks my friend. I was trying to hit the carpet but its not so easy as it looks. Still I love this baby and I cant wait to fly it again. And we have filmed after asembley video with Corsair to see it in all its glory while it is still in one piece.

If the plane comes back in one piece, it was a good landing. That FW190 looked great up there and the inner turbine gave it a bit of a different sound. I liked it, great job fellas.
Like you said my friend. I knew that I will tip it over if I will miss the carpet. But at the end it was good enough for maiden flight. I will take it.

Love the paint job ! looks great far more realistic than the original out the box. You should change the length of time the retracts and doors come up and down. I have my wheels slightly offset and slower coming up and down which looks so scale which you can do so easily on the Spektrum transmitter 😉

Great flight and video guys! I bought mine from Hobbyking back in 2015. They were on sale for $100. I bought 2 because they did not carry spare parts. I still have both of them, one still in the box! It is made by TopRC which you can get spare parts for it from Castle RC in Japan.

Good Review! I have tried all the Foam FW-190 same size. The one I like the best is the, FlightLine version. Then the Parkzone FW-190. They are all great fliers but not so good on the grass. The one to really stay away from, unless you want to just hang it up from the ceiling is the Flyzone FW-190.
Hey, nice maiden Pilot Robert and Capt. Blaz! I just took my FW 190 for its' maiden yesterday, also! The FMS one is a bit slower, but handles the grass well. I just had some bouncy landings. That's some nice detailing and weathering on the plane you did. Now that I've flown the FW 190, the other planes waiting in the hangar will start coming out for their maiden flights! Happy flying fellow flyers! :)

I've got one of those and modified the landing gear with bigger 55" wheels with replacement sprung U/C, with a slight forward rake and it's landing problem's are sorted. With just a little DIY that Focke wolf is a really nice plane.
This baby is really great my friend and such good flyer. I dont mind the landing gear. Good enough for me.
@@PetrincicBrosRC I really did so much messing about with the U/C to make it land nice, but you are already so busy with so much other stuff I can understand that you can live with it as it is.

A very nice maiden my friends. This model is perfect for tarmac or artificial grass but on normal grass i had no chance. The landings for this bird is always prone to flip over. You cant beat them all. Great job though. 👍👍👍👍

I`ve had this plane for about a year. i just did a maiden then on the second flight, i slammed it into a light pole at a local school. i was coming in for a landing at a good speed, it did little damage. Had this been a FMS, or a eflite, it would have demolished the cowl and front end of fuselage. But because HKing put such a thick cowl it just dented the front of the cowl

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a video with so much talking in it this much, ever! Normally it's like, just shut up and show us the model flying, but you two are such great characters you made the video immensely enjoyable! :D I have had this model a good few years now and it flies equally well on 3s 2200 lipos. Totally agree with the problems taking off and landing on grass. I actually flew mine for the first time in ages last Sunday, and with no one else at the patch I had to manage with a cack handed self hand launch. That gave a moment I can tell you! But once away she flew as beautifully as ever. Then bought in for the slowest wheels up landing I could manage with power off at the last second.

To whom it may concern, General hobby has a few I got two a few months ago. I think they still have props. This plane is a fave great for dead stick I start to take my turn in for landing cut power and she floats in better to land on hard surfaces. Grass I do a steep landing come in steep flair up and land in a few feet less damage to landing gear.
Hi ... Great Video ... well R/C flying lead me to big plane flying. I learned to change trim with airspeed. The same applies with models. Now I am old and no longer fly the larger planes, but I find that if these techniques apply to models. When flying the larger planes, the elevator is used to set the angle of attack of the wing and the throttle is used to go up and down. For a landing, I give a little up trim while reducing power and the plane will settle in slightly nose high very nicely. This increases the drag and sets up the decent rate. When flying close to the ground you do not want to make a mistake, so you set the trim for your approach speeds and concentrate on the decent rate. You do very little fiddling with the elevator. If you are short you add power and if you are landing long you reduce the power. You do not play with the elevator. Using trim to set the angle of attack is much steadier and keeps you from bouncing up and down with turbulence or mishandling of the elevator. Only use a touch of elevator for the flare. Don't get too slow on decent, however, for you do not want to stall the plane. Practice your descents at altitude to learn the technique and you will grease your landings every time. The first thing I do when maidening a plane is to take off and fly descents only to get a feel of how the plane will land.

Great advice on making great landings. I sometimes watch this guy fly his planes on the beach and he will often nail the landing and just leave you saying ` Wow, That was as smooth as butter. That could not have gone better`

Ahhh, Pilot Robert ... I feel badly. Please don't feel I am criticizing your flying. You make the perfect landings 99.9% of the time on a maiden flight. This is far better than I. I only wanted to mention this technique for those times when coming in slower would help ... such as landing in the quarry. Putting a plane down in that negatively sloped lane is very difficult. But watch out when using this technique. It only takes a click or so of up and you need to compensate with the throttle. I do believe it would really help in the quarry.

No my friend. For the first plane buy high wing plane. It does fly great but its a low wing plane and they do fly different. They need speed.

It’s an unpleasant build, the paint is easy to flake off and the directions were awful. But once on the runway and in the air it’s as solid as the Flightline 1600mm P-38, Corsair, and Spitfire. I was stunned. Very stable, faster than I expected with the stock prop. Overall, well worth the price paid. It’s just a good old fashioned build. If I had it to do over again I’d spray the surfaces with clear polycrylic and see if that would help with paint coming off.

A great flying FW.190,the undercarriage is sensible for flying off grass,those long legs spell disaster,Robert has been using his paintbrush to do the whirlyjig spinner !

Very nice model and good maiden! When I fly for first time my models, I always find how the plane handles a full stole and slow flight using an elevator trim. I never land my planes trimmed for cruise speed, ?!? Keep making the videos, our season is over in Montreal !?!

I bought one of these from HobbyKing around the same time as you posted this video and I must say how disappointed I am when I compare mine with yours.
To begin with, the wings on mine are painted plain gray with no camo at all and the the retracts are operated by a single servo mounted in the center of the wing with 2 rods pushing and pulling the landing gear into position.
Yours appears to have proper individual retracts.
In addition, there appears to be no center wing strut inside the wing and running a strong magnet over the wing surface indicates further that there simply isn't one.
