Jem is so sweet to the clients, especially when they are elderly! Well done you!
I love these hard working lads...jetters 1,2 and 3 changing the scouse stereotypes worldwide. Jokes aside though I really do admire the work ethics of these guys and the politeness and reliability they bring to their jobs. Great job lads keep it up.
Fantastic job! I love how you explain everything for us too, the other quiet plumber on this channel always does a great job too. 😊 Your professionalism is shown through how helpful your clients are.
I admire your hustle and your professionalism!
You put the jinx on yourself at 0:10 "These are pretty easy!"
What a lovely old gent of a customer, and another excellent job by you. Your customer service is really good, the best I have seen on CZcams.
I love the client, he was so nice bless him! Bet he likes chatting to anyone that will listen
It amazes me how many people don't know to bottle up their grease and throw it away when they fill the jar.
Most every plate you wash has minute traces of grease/fat on them, and it goes down the drain when you wash them. Over time it builds up.
Most people do not pour it down the sink, they simply wash a dirty plate, and a more micro grams of fat goes down the drain. Make a sandwich, wash the butter off the knife - it’s fats.
@@marks2731 This is correct ^^^ Think of when you drain pasta, are you collecting that water every time? I doubt it. Just builds up as Mark said.
I do that, good idea to wipe plates clean with bread, my brother gives the plates to his dogs to clean first before washing.
Communication with the customer is awesome. Have a great day ...
Well…
That is pure job satisfaction… people are ALWAYS happy to see you sir 👍😂✌️
Great video, very professional job done and great communication with the customer. Though once the blockage was cleared and you had the lying dirty water my thought would’ve been to use a yard broom to get rid of the worst of it then do a gentle hosing down and cleaning so using far less water and not getting it right up the wall.
Need post 10 with his rake
Cant really see his rake helping much with this blockage, unless it has a 30 foot long flexible rake handle on it.
Just did this!! Jet washed my yard(en) and the drain filled up with lots of sludge etc…all clear in two minutes!! Incredible and thank you 👍
Brilliant explanation! I'm feeling hopeful that I can do it myself. Thanks for sharing
“This should go right now,” few minutes later “Has this been blocked for awhile”.? 😂
I've got a 5ltr metal can in the kitchen with a funnel in it, any fat or grease residue from cooking gets poured into it. I learnt my lesson years ago blocking up the kitchen waste pipe. Now once a week I let the hot tap run for 5 minutes to clean out any fat that does get down there from washing pots & pans.
Great job helping out the old fella.
That was a nice grease blockage! Nice job on getting it flowing again.
Nice unclogging. Thanks for the video and chat. Cheers mate.
good work, especially trying to preserve the water at the end - TOP NOTCH
Nice job done by a very pleasant drain man! Had to get Dynorod out a few months ago for a similar drain blockage (another helpful and nice guy) but it's happened twice since, loo paper etc backing up through the gully. Fortunately I've managed to clear it myself pushing a stiff hosepipe down there plus buckets of water. I'm sure I'll have to do it again but it's important to catch it before a big build-up.
I was always taught never ever put fat down the drain always throw it outside .
Better to put it into a container, leave it to cool then throw in the refuse.
Or save the container it came in and then empty the used fat into that container when cold and make sure it sealed, bag it up and put it into your outside general bin for refuge collection.
Keep your left over bacon grease and use it when cooking your eggs tastes much better
How do you go about cleaning and disinfecting all of your equipment when you are done?
Great work!!!👍🤙
again...excellent work
I was wonderful why you were going gentle on the jetting and then I realized no outdoor tap to refill with
Well done !
Great job Guys!
It was extremely proper job done ever seen
Ah the northern diet keeping plumbers in business :)
I've recently moved into a wheelchair adapted property and the drains been dreadful since moving in,the neighbours tell us that the previous tenant used to tip a bucket of grease down the drain everyday! No wonder it's blocked!!! 😱I learnt from my dad that you keep your old coffee jars etc to fill up with fat then you put the lid back on and throw it away when full, anyhoo,we've got to get something done about it,we've seen the karcher pressure washer drain unblocking kit so was thinking about getting 1 of those and see if my hubby can do the job without us having to call the landlord lol has anyone ever used this kit? If so is it any good?
Great informative video, what a great guy! Does he want to pop down to Walsall by brum and tackle this monster of a job 😉 I'll give him as much water as he wants and I'll even make him a brew with bickies too
Yes,luckily the actual blockage was close to the top so my carer put a bin bag over his hand and arm and scooped as much as he could out and thankfully they're flowing through ok although for how long I'm not sure but for the last few months they've been ok,I contacted my landlords repair company and explained and they said if fat is inside the drains that they'll charge ME for it even though I hadn't caused it personally.
Are you struggling with a blocked drain too
@@cetamillington wow that situation stinks! But I’m sure your drains are flowing fine since you haven’t had issues in the past few weeks, just don’t let too much fat/ food particles flow down!
I’m a dishwasher in a fairly busy retirement home, and I had issues with my drain in my work area for the past three or four months. Bottle after bottle of chemical drain cleaner plus me using a plunger didn’t make a difference at all. It took a ton of me bothering the bosses to finally get them to pay a plumber to come check the situation out. And well within ten minutes of him running his “snake” tool through the drain, he pulled out a disposable plastic bag out of there, which was surprising since there are several drain covers that prevent large items from flowing down. Safe to say my drain is fine for now and now I’m a little bit less stressed at work :)
A good job well done.
One thing I think might help you with clean up is an industrial rubber squeegee just a thought love watching you I find it really fascinating
Good Thursday morning to you sir from wellington Somerset
oh thats smart, kneeling on empty container @ 3:26..thats proved your experience dealing with the muck lol
What was that blue key u used to open the cover
How do you clean the fat off the patio? I have a very powerful jet washer, it doesn't come off. Also used patio cleaners from b&q, still no luck. These grease are so stubborn
Should bring the client and his wife out to see what damage fat and grease does to their plumbing.
Hello can I ask what was the stuff that you put down on the floor to clean
Great video was stubborn block
Waooo this is amazing well done guys 👌🏽👌🏽🤝🤝👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤ .
When you were cleaning up at the end it looks like there was water in the drain. Is it meant to have water or is it suppose to be completely drained out dry after you cleared the blockage?
It was so satisfying when the jetter popped the clog.
ALL GOOD!
I managed to clear my drain today after 2 failed attempts with drain unblocker. I ended up cutting off slices of White clay-like stuff lining the drain. Assume it was fat
Any British man knows that discussing the weather is always a good ice breaker.
Regarding running out of water, can you not refill from a fire hydrant?
Great vlogs, and fantastic customer service.
He could...but to remain above board (he is in a branded van afterall) he would have to get a metered standpipe from united utilities(his local water supplier) and pay for any water he uses.
It's not expensive but i suppose it all adds up and if he can use a client's water its better for the company!!
well done
Why are so many houses that you visit have the sewer pipes on the outside walls? Also it appears the rain gutters go into the open sewer drains as well. Is that common practice where your located?
How does the jet line get propelled down the pipes please ?
My mother used to get most of the fat off cooking trays with newspaper and bin it. My friends mum always got the family to wipe their plates clean with bread.
I seen vids for city cleaners in drains outside takeaways cleaning out fat with shovel's!
Do you hav e root cutters?
Does the fat stay emulsified after you jet it, or does it reform as solids later on in the mains?
The pipes get larger and larger so those clumps shouldn't be a bother further down the system.
When it's backed up like this there's typically enough water to flow through to flush it on through
Great job lot of grease there.
What is that like a jet wash your using?
He offers you a seat. Lovely!
You're a nice man! I'm going to buy some of those rods and see if I can fix my own drain, I like to do things myself if I can. It's the drain from the kitchen sink but the washing machine also drains into it, and I eat a lot of fat as I'm on the Ketogenic diet which is high fat.
@@purplespark8 Yes I was, it didn't turn out to be as big a job as this one though. I bought the rods, they are good to have. Good luck.
Incredible to think that will eventually come back out of a tap as drinkable water!
The oil will turn into a solid, and the rest of the water will be disinfectant, then filters will make it clean enough to take showers and wash the car :)
Same goes for sewage, the solids fall to the bottom and float, and the water is treated. I would never drink it or recommend anyone to drink tap water 🤢
I swap house they blocked the sink same way .how did they do that for me I m surprised 😯 it was coming to my washing machine I tried everything then phone plumber
Do you ever put Dawn dishwashing liquid in to help break up the grease? Is that a stupid idea?
good job! how much do you charge ? or what is best way to assessment this kind of job ?
Why is your plumbing on the outside of the house ? And why is it not deeper in the ground ? Won't it freeze in the winter ? I don't understand these connections in a pit- it has to smell bad whenever you get near it .
Is it my imagination, or does the UK have a lack of water or low water pressure everywhere?
Keep up the great work!
Some areas have poor pressure. Old infrastructure. There are regulations over flow rate and pressure but some areas still struggle
@@nigel1964 true but that has nothing to do with most blockages in the U.Ks drains
My water pressure isn't good but my parent's water pressure is very good. They live at the top of a hill and there is a water company pumping station at the bottom of the hill.
@@tomcan7607 actually it could. Less water to push things through. Low flush toilets are bad for it as well. At least these are contributing factors I see in the states
I wonder why you don't jet from downstream first?
I put my fat and grease in empty coffee cans stuff paper towels in it put the lid on it double bag it and throw the bag in trash..
All that was caused from grease?
I was taught from an early age no grease and no coffee grounds.
Its amazing how solidly grease and or washing powder residue can block gullys and pipes.
@@paulf2529 i have learnt now if cooking sausges on a tray use foil or put on tray and pour fat into jar and then wipe rest of fat with kitchen towel so no grease in sink. I would love to do this job. Been thinking of a career change for a long time. Very profeeesioanl
What is root infiltration?
Why do people still pour oil/fat/grease down the sink?
I put oils in old milk bottles when cooled for when I go to the council site. The fat/grease us allowed to cool in a tub lined with old newspapers then once solidified it goes in the household waste bin as per council guidance.
Once cooled I just throw it away. However, If you are my father you believe toliets are magically on a different sewer system and is designed to handle it.
Good work. Imagine what the restaurants customers arteries look like
Around my area they fill up on the fire hydrant in the street
Why pipes are outside the house?
Hey what cities do you cover?
No out door tap, I am shocked lol 😆
Nice job, but when it comes to your videos it's hard to see anything except your knees and your feet. I love the way you instruct us as you go, awesome job, just remember your audience, lol!
You say this like we aren't wanting to look at his knees and feet. As an amputee, I quite admire them. Just acting like the screen is me looking down and having the possibility of 10 toes is awesome. =P
@@Lhifeeq I'm so very sorry if I offended you by my comment, I'm sorry for my insensitivity. Much respect for all vets or anyone who has had amputations.
@@roxanneabbott8424 LOL, Roxanna, I am a goof, and not at all offended. I was being silly. The shirt I have on right now says "It cost an arm and a leg, but I was able to negotiate" The one I had on yesterday says "Some assembly required." Tomorrows says, "It's official, I am on my last leg." Losing my leg was the best thing to happen to me after 4 years of waiting for it to kill me and all the pain. It saved my life to lose it and pulled me out of a dark place. 4 years of begging to have it removed and finally I can get around so much better with a prosthetic. No need to be sorry.
Is that just blowing air into it?
I have heard that some cities in Great Britain are plagued with "Fatburgs" in the main sewers. This gentleman apparently has one in his gulley and building sewer😜
It's not just Britain, pretty much any place with people in large concentrations it will happen.
The PVC pipes on the outside of the house, what are they for?
Drainage obviously. Sink, washing machine, dishwasher as they're coming from the kitchen.
@@octaviussludberry9016 Living in the States it's different but if you have a blockage it's not in the house.
No grease traps in the UK?
Commercial properties normally have grease traps yes ( not always )
You guys have such different plumbing systems than we do in the us. Australia as well from what I see from Ollie. I guess in Britain in your case many houses and buildings were built before indoor plumbing and had to add it later?
THANKYOU FOR THIS VIDEO
IM GOING TO ATTEMPT TO TRY AND DO MY OWN
jem is always such a good egg when dealing with people and drains! please remember to use a kneeling mat with your knee replacement!
Gotta love this shit.
You should really consider Go-Pro headbands/helmets :)
What kind of shoes are you wearing
Another great video, much appreciated!
Meaning no offence but does the customer have a very strong accent or...? Because I couldn't understand a single word he said.
I bet he was really grateful you blasted all that crap all up his walls. Would of been easier to just get a bucket of water and a brush
Hello my friend, What kind of nozzle did you use and is it threaded on ??
I hope you advised the customer about tipping fat down the drain
Why not jet from the man hole by the van. ?
You should invest in steem genie guess water 200゚ and hotter to melt that fat to make it flow better from your friend across the pond
Are you allowed to fill your van up using fire hydrants if the customer has no outdoor tap
@@TheDrainUnblockers we do have hydrants in the UK under a cover that a stand pipe can connect to but I guess its for emergency services only
You can get stand pipes which can go on fire hydrants but they have to be metered otherwise the local water board will be after you lol
Fire hydrants are for the fire service only, you can connect to a washout the ones marked WO but to be legal you have to rent an approved metred standpipe which costs a lot more than the water, typically around £200 a month! Then pay for the water on top!
The client was so sweet! He really wanted to help anyway he could.
