  • The BHK series of amplifiers are not amplifiers that can be externally bridged. Why is that?

Pretty honest answer there. You can't because we did it already.

Not sure if that’s the bridge the person was questioning 🤨

I'm thinking RCA in and out of both amp

Interesting ... Bridge Tied Load (BTL) outputs ... just like a lot of the new Class D stuff.

I can bridge my A/B amp.
300/4-75 watts RMS per channel to 150 watts RMS 2 channel. The one and only other reason would be to run 2 speakers on side and a subwoofer 150 watts on the other side. Many of JLAUDIO subs will play just fine on 150 watts mono. A lot of people set their JLAUDIO amps up this way for a 3 way system.
I have a 5 channel amp that has a dedicated 250 watts mono for a subwoofer, more than enough power to power a sub to make your eyeballs bleed. 😀👍😎🤗 and on the phone making an appointment with the Audiologist..😀😀😀😀

Sounds like you are using the term bi-amping for using the stereo amps as monoblocks. Bi-amping to me is driving the HFand LF with separate amps.

You can also B-Amp using 1 amp per speaker if you have HF and LF on each speaker (4x binding posts - separated obviously) - this is a slightly better way to go as the load from each amplifier is spread more or less equally equally - but the the more popular choice is as you say.

I'm curious, do the BHK amps produce any extra power with just one channel driven? You lose total, but any gains for the 1 channel?

Like my Primare power amps. I get lots of watt in 8 ohm but no watts att all i 2 ohm when I bridge them.

Dependa on what the output transistors are rated at.

What do you think of tri-amping 3 way speaker plus having separate sub woofer for large scale classical music?

I tri-amp my Infinity towers. Stereo amp for the top, two mono amps for the woofers. It's neat, but hard to dial in the sound with so many amps. I've had success with patience

@@christophergaus3996 I passive Bi Amped my IRS IIIa's. Never happier. No reason to tri amp them.

'tis better to build a bridge than a wall.

... because a single Signature 250 with less than one tenth of an ohm output impedance doesn't have enough control authority over a pair of speakers. lol! [sarcasm]

To be clear, I would add a second BHK to my system also, if I could afford it. I'm just pointing out that our community is made up of a bunch of maniacs.
