  • #Backup and recovery is to protect the #database against data loss and reconstruct the database after data loss. Backup has been splitted into two methods:
    -- Physical backup - Physical backup is a backup of the physical files used in storing and recovering your database. Such as datafiles, control files, archived redo log files.
    -- Logical backup - Logical backup is exporting the logical data(table, tablespace, schemas) from a database with an #Oracle export utility and stored in a binary file.

    Tip:
    I figured this out by fiddling around. the List Backup cmmnd might seem a little overwhelming and confusing. So what you need to do is Compare the filename from the piece name to the filenames of the bkp files that were created in your fast recovery area(if you have that enabled) or your specified directory.
    Here you need to note 3 things: the date modified of the bkp file, the Tag as the teacher mentioned and the BS key.

    hi,
    nice video, i have a doubt.
    i have taken fullbackup using rman and i configure that my backup location is u01. after sometime my backup moved to TAPE. as per request storage team placed backup in u02 instead of u01.
    now here is the question 'how do you tell this to your rman' without changing in configuration backup location u01.' what is the cmd u use to slove this?
    plz answer it.
    Thanks&Regards
    madhan

    Is parallelism and channel connect with each other if we set parallelism to 1 and set channel to 4 then what happened? Please tell...

    • @dbagenesis
      @dbagenesis  Před 2 lety

      RMAN will trigger 4 channels. If you don't give channels then RMAN will allocate automatic channels based on parallelism parameter!
