I love how Michael runs the gambit between being hilarious and pants shittingly terrifying. Like the way he just flat out says "no" to people, I have never heard someone say "no" in such a mocking way and thoroughly believing them

SAME I was not prepared to laugh because of the Martin poetry minute
Michael's appearances are both terrifying and hilarious. Just, "there's nobody here" and him going ,with that slow voice of his, "yes, there is". And, "did the archivist not tell you about me?" "no?" "good." If he didn't feel so much like a "not-ally" to Jon and the others, I would look forward to his appearances a lot more than I already do (which is already quite a lot).

@@scottdick296 Random fact but same thing happened to an actress of a Thai Horror/Thriller series called 'Girl From Nowhere'. The actress really does laugh loudly and demonically in real life that it became iconic and even almost gave her interviewers a heart attack.
Martin makes me grip my heart more than any jumpscare or horror bit in this series, to be honest. I hope nothing happens to him oof

i love how martin just calls out tim. even though i understand tims exasperation, martin is probably genuinely the best person, morally, in this show so far. not really sure why jon hated him so much
bit of a headcannon of mine, but, he could be reciprocating Martin's crush but internalized homophobia causes him to see it as gross and therefore Martin is stupid

Jon's jaded and thinks pretty highly of himself whether he means to or not, I think he saw Martin's gentleness and consideration as a weakness. And I kind of think that since we've heard from Elias that they're actually about the same level of intelligence and kind of think alike that Jon can also see that and hates that Martin can be so,,, Martin, while he's stuck as himself.
But also he could be repressing obvious fondness for his sweet, tea making assistant archivist lmao

Jon just got bullied for like 16 minutes by several different people. One of my favorite episodes.
I adore this podcast and all of the work that's put into it but if I can ask as a non native english speaker, Please kindly add subtitles to the episodes where heavy whispering and voice distortion is used, I'm sure there are a lot more people like me who have difficult enjoying the wonderful things you create.
there are transcripts online! theyre not official but from what i read of them theyre accurate
I totally agree, not bc I'm also non a native English speaker but also I have APD and keeping up is kinda hard usually, whispers and dissorted audio is basically imposible.
I read the transcripts but it usually takes the surprise factor out when I accidentally look a bit further while trying to keep up

i'm just OBSESSED with not!sasha talking at jon and trying to scare him by telling him he should talk about his feelings. fantastic podcast 10/10
that whole jon & notsasha part at the end... oh my god. literally the best scene ive seen in fiction in years. just hearing his panicked breathing over her monologuing.... and when he started talking i literally felt my emotions break. the perfect payoff to 2 seasons worth of set up (i say, knowing this is not the payoff yet. still, its a good scene on its own, but the context makes it hit so much harder... i feel like someone bashed my skull in with a brick, emotionally.)

Much as the set-dressing fits episodes like this, I really dislike how hard the reverb and such makes it to understand what's being said. Good thing the transcripts exist.

This was an emotional rollercoaster but wow Eve Hewitt's voice acting really shone in this one. Everyone was phenomenal but she definitely came through in a big way. Her laughter gave me chills...

Getting past these last couple of episodes has been so painful. My heart. Gosh I was so scared when Michael mentioned killing Tim & Martin. But now they're probabky lost in his dimension or something. And when the creature was telling John what a bad archivist he is, I was so mad. He is trying his best! I love that the archives are like the only place in the Institute avatars actually attack and the rest of the Institutes employees just think that the archival staff are weirdos
Each time the archival staff runs arnd like beheaded chickens I just imagine Rosy or quite literally anyone else just hearing thumps and screaming from the Archives and quickening their pace
That's because the rest of it is a front. The only parts of the institute that matters are the archives, and to a lesser extent, artifact storage.
