This puzzle involves a lot of chess thinking in terms of strategy, tactics, moves & ideas. This is a unique chess problem where White has just one knight and a king whereas, black has all his pieces. But still White can win this game. You need to find the best moves & ideas in which white can trap black in between his own pieces and checkmate the black king. This is a really interesting puzzle and you can learn some important chess concepts out of this brilliant endgame composition. I am sharing the solution as well, but I would suggest you try solving this on your own to test your chess skills. I also have another interesting Chess Puzzle for you at the end of this video. Let's see if you can solve that. It's a famous position from a great game of Bobby Fischer. Let's see if you can find the best move for that.

This video was as always very good. The solution to the given puzzle is given below.
      1. White plays the stunning move - Be5, not only sacrificing the Bishop but also pinning the black bishop.
      2. Black can either, ignore the sacrifice or take it. Ignoring the sacrifice will result the black and white bishops getting traded. This will be losing for Black as the pawn on a6 will promote to a queen.
If black takes the sacrifice then we can simply push our pawn to a7. No matter what move black plays on the next move the white pawn is going to promote.
This was a great and tricky puzzle. Thanks for the video.

Be5 is the answer to the puzzle.
The bishop cannot move as it is pinned to the king. If the black bishop takes the white bishop the pawn can go ahead and get promoted to a queen. If he moves king to Kc4 then white bishop can take the black bishop and then if black king takes the white bishop then the pawn will still be promoted to a queen. When the pawn is promoted to the queen, white will have a major advantage. I hope I am correct.
Also, your videos teach me a LOT and are very Enjoyable!

Hello Chess Talk. The solution of this puzzle is
First,we play Be5,we pin this black bishop to the king. If bishop takes bishop, and then there is a7 coming which will be soon promoted itself into a Queen on a8 and black can't stop it.
    This is the first variation.
So in the second variation, after Be5,if king moves from the pin by playing Kd3 or Kc4,then we can simply capture the bishop on d4,and after Kxe5, again we can simply play a7 promoting to a queen and this is completely winning for white and soon it will be game over for black.
Thank you Chess Talk. May god bless you for your sincere efforts.

  • @shubhtripathy1337
    @shubhtripathy1337 Před 3 lety +21

Be5 is the answer of the puzzle.
After white plays Be5, black’s bishop is pinned, from here, no move works for black, for eg. Bxe5, then white plays a7, and there is no way to stop the pawn and the game will be lost very soon.If black doesn’t take the bishop and plays something like Kc4, white can simply take the black’s bishop on d4 and again, there is no stopping the pawn on a6.

Don’t matter if the bishop takes or moves the king or pawn

4:52 - I feel like Be5 is the best move here, because it pins the black bishop, freeing me to move the a6 pawn upwards and promote it, and the following things can happen:
If Black plays Bxe5, then I move my pawn upwards and you won't be able to do anything
If Black plays anything else, then it's a free bishop trade, and I move my pawn upward anyway
Black cannot play Ba7 to block the pawn because of the pin

King cannot stop the pawn regardless. That bishop is Black's only hope and White pins it with Be5. If Black does not take it, then he must move the King off that diagonal to unpin the bishop, but then White takes the bishop. Even after spotting the Black King two moves towards the pawn, the King still cannot catch it.

1.bishop e5,black's bhishop is pinned . Now nothing matters with blacks move .eg:kb2 or kd3 or kb4 or c4 . We will simply take the bhisho . And promote our pawn to a queen

    White moves Be5
As the black bishop pinned on d4, it cannot move before moving the black king from c3. Then white bishop takes black bishop on c4 (Bxc4). Then white passed pawn on a6 easily moves to a7, then a8 and turns to Queen and win the game.
If black plays Bxe4 taking out the white bishop then white pawn can easily moves to a7( as bishop moved away from a7-g1 diagonal) then to a8 and makes it to Queen and wins the game.

    1. Be5 is the move because the bishop is controlling the a7 square for the pawn to advance. So therefore black has to capture the bishop and the pawn on a6 can advance forward and promote to a queen. :)

You know once I tried the scholar’s mate in a chess competition. But I
lost my queen but even without promoting a pawn, I WON. My opponent was also surprised. All of your videos helped me.

Hi sir, I think I found the solution to the puzzle
    1. Be5,and the black bishop is pinned and is threatened,
But the actual purpose of the black bishop is to protect the a7 square so if the black bishop takes the white bishop ,then we do this beautiful move 2. a7 and black has no way to stop the white queen.
This was a beautiful bishop sacrifice by Sir Bobby Fischer.

Answer to the puzzle: a7 if Bxa7 then Bxa7 otherwise a8=Q

2:29 Nd8. It would stop the knight.
3:20 wouldn't count since you moved your bishop and pawn first. But you would be able to defend the spot with a rook.

Puzzle answer :- bishop to E5. I don't know what fisher as we can't think what he played but according to me the best move is bishop to E5 and so the black's bishop is forced to take white's bishop and then in 2 moves the pawn will become queen and there is no way to stop it after taking the bishop ( if black not take bishop then we will take it because he can't move it because of king. )

    Puzzle
    1 Be5 Bxe5
    2. a7 Bd4 a8=Q
    Variation 2
    1. Be5 Kc4 (or any other move with the king)
    2. Bxd4 Kxd4
    3. a7 kc5
    4. a8=Q
A tricky puzzle but an easy one

  • @siddharthkorukonda7662

@Chess Talk, here is the answer for todays puzzle:
The main move is Be5. From here the black bishop can either kill the white bishop, so Bxe5. Or he can leave it. Regardless, the white can promote the a6 pawn to a queen and kill the rest of the black pawns. From there, he can either promote another pawn and go for the 2 queen checkmate or he can use a queen-king checkmate or whatever. White has won the game

White should take bishop to e5
    After that bishop takes
The pawn on the left moves to a7 bishop tries to stop
Pawn promotes to queen at a8

    in the puzzle
    Be5, pinning the bishop
    black has to capture, Bxe5
take the a6 pawn and simply promote a queen and the games over in few moves

The answer to the 2nd puzzle is
    1. Be5 this pins the black bishop to the black king, if black captures our bishop with 1. .... B×e5 then we will play 2. a7 and the promotion of the a pawn can't be stopped. If black plays some king move like 1. ..... Kc4 then we will capture the black bishop 2. B×d4 K×d4 3. h7 ...... and again, the promotion of the a pawn can't be stopped

Solution to the puzzle at the end:
Best move: Bishop to e5 so the enemy's bishop can't move anywhere except to take your bishop, if it takes it, u can promote ur pawn to a queen and win the game
And also... The challenge in this video was so fantastic that I almost solve it, and also luv all ur videos😘😊😍

  • @saumitrajoshi1876
    @saumitrajoshi1876 Před 3 lety

The correct move is Be5 since it pins the bishop on d4 either black has to take on e5 or if any other move then Bxd4 so both options exchange the bishops and there is no stopping to queening the pawn
