- 4DX Next Generation Movie Cinemas - (Total Immersive Environment EFX Theatre) are the newest evolution in the 4D cinema experience. In a total immersive environment where you actually “feel” the action on the screen, from the seats you are sitting in to the effects around you.

4d theaters have been in amusement parks and other places for decades; since the 70s at least.
Saw incredibles 2, Jurassic Park, and Mission impossible in 4Dx. Total game changer for me. I absolutely recommend watching a movie in 4Dx

4DX is an amazing experience every time. Whoever created it is a genius! My first 4DX experience was Black Panther and wow. It was crazy.
4d theaters have been around for decades. Not anything new except that they are in cineplexes now.
Regal 4DX theaters are amazing. Beats the IMAX experience for me. I've been to DBOX and it's a joke compared to 4DX. Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 4DX is one of the most memorable movie experiences I've ever had. Felt like I was right in the middle of the hurricane Rodan caused.
if i recall there is two imax. one is the real one. its big, hard to see the whole screen. the other is like a fee inches bigger than the other screens

@@ShawnJonesHellion Shawn, only a small portion of IMAXes can play the more square 1.43 ratio now. Most of them can play 1.9, which would still show more image than a normal theater. There aren't that many movies made that use the 1.43 ratio now anyway, but Dune and No Time to Die did. The size of IMAXes varies from location to location. There are still some very big ones that are not "true" IMAX based on the ratio they can play. But if the movie was not made in 1.43 ratio, it doesn't matter if you're in a "true" IMAX or not. The quality of projection also matters. Some use newer Laser projectors, others use older Xenon digital projectors. You've got to research lists online to see which IMAXes use what projectors and what their screen size is.

1 of the Regal theaters outside Buffalo, NY has 4DX seating & it is awesome.
The 1st movie I experienced in it was Spider-Man: No Way Home & then I later saw Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness & Thor: Love and Thunder in 4DX.
I'll never forget at the beginning of Spider-Man: No Way Home when Peter/Spider-Man & MJ were swinging through the subway tunnels & when the seats moved around, I slid a little in my seat, but didn't fall out.
I also enjoyed the weather related special effects & even the strobe lights.
Aquaman is PERFECT in 4DX. Absolute movie experience of my LIFE!

The future is virtual reality where you put on a headset and experience the movie like you’re there. The movie will be directed in such a way where you feel like you’re in the scene.
If they film it with 360 cameras, you'll be able to turn your head and see the movie from different angles. It'll never be the same movie twice.
@@JDuBz815 I've actually remember reading some are already out that do that. For example, Alex Honnold's "The Soloist" was filmed specifically for VR.
@@Ryan_hey it'll change the game, when they do it. I already watch movies multiple times, if I happen to like the movie. Sometimes it would be nice to get a different perspective on the same movie you've seen 10,20,30xs. Especially if they pan the audio with you as you turn your head (this is relatively simple compared to viewing a movie from multiple, variable angles as you watch it). Combine that with the story writing (I have lesser expectations in this regard, with how some major motion pictures have been written lately) where the story of a character changes depending on how you look at/see them develop. Eventually it will be hard to believe you watched a movie, but didn't live it.

They have one here in Puerto Rico. It is an awesome experience as long as it's a movie full of action. Totally worth the price.

Thanks for the explanation! A cinema in my town was struggling with the rise of luxury seating as they were a traditional theater, but just completely revamped and did this, and I'm thinking of seeing the new Jurassic World movie this way!

Ive already planned to go see it again in a few days as well as plans to see uncharted and moonfall in 4d, safe to say im hooked xD. I never watch horror but Im so going to have to give it a go!

My first experience in 4DX was amazing watching Antman and the Wasp:Quantamania. The fight scenes, action, and entering the quantum realm was crazy!!!! Every action movie I’m only gonna see it in 4DX.

Finally tried it out with Top Gun Maverick. If there is a movie that was destined to be experienced in 4DX. Top Gun Maverick is it. You feel like you're in the planes. Best movie viewing experience of my life. I mean it.

My sister works at this theater and she said it’s going to get this type of theater room sometime late this year into early next year. She said that there is literally going to be a height and weight limit.
My first movie in this format was Sonic 2 last year, definitely a fun experience!
Since then, I've been going to 4DX at Warrington or King of Prussia, totally worth the 30-45 minute drive. ^^

I just watched my first 4DX movie (Dune 2) in Temecula California. Im visiting from NJ. We don’t have any in NJ yet. After that experience I’m praying we get one soon. It was amazing. Certainly not what I was expecting. It was a 3 hour amusement park ride. Well worth the cost of admission.
My question is why is 3D dying off? I love watching movies in IMAX 3D and watching Blu-ray 3D movies at home. This 4DX theater experience looks great, wouldn't mind seeing one at a theater since that's unlikely to never happen 😐😐😐
yes I know what you mean when AVATAR came out in 3D it was AMAZING!!!, but ever since movies in 3D are rare as hens teeth, at least in Melbourne Australia they are.

The problem is not everyone likes it. I personally can't stand 3d. 2d looks crisp to me, whereas 3d just seems like a blurry mess. It's personal preference.

Just got back from Toronto. Saw Terminator: Dark Fate twice in 2 days. Saw it once, then had time to kill before my flight out, so we saw it again. Most fun ever....EVER! It prepped my mind and body for any turbulence during my flight.

Because of the immersive experience and immense cost of installing and maintaining these seats Theaters have been so kind as to pass on these costs to the consumer. One 4DX ticket will run you around $30. That’s $60 for just the seat ticket if you’re going on a date. FUUUUUHUUUUUUUUCK THAAAAT!!

Moments ago I checked out The Batman at the Regal Cinema theater. 4DX is so cool to check out. In a way it somewhat and somehow reminds me of a 1991 movie called Popcorn.

I experienced a sample of 4D seats with Pirates of the Caribbean 4 but not exactly in the theater. I had an actual experience in an Austin TX museum for a highschool field trip.

I saw Ford v Ferrari in 4DX, and I took this movie out for a ride. It was awesome, and I can’t wait to see the last Star Wars film ever. In 4DX.
The major problem with this is that the screen doesn't move with you... this is what causes people to feel sick or disoriented. If the screen was to move with the seats, the whole experience would be so much stronger.
i agree with you on this, that's exactly why i wont be watching on this format again. I'll stick with imax or dolby or regular
@Tagr Endy and some people get sick in helicopters. When you play any vr games, the screen moves with you... that's kinda what they're trying to accomplish, the most immersive experience.
the screen doesn't have to move.. it is the images on the screen that would move to keep in synch.

Yep. There is a Regal theater in San Diego (in Mira Mesa) that has the 4DX seating, and it was really damn fun. Its basically like the actual ride at Disney Land....but an entire movie.

We have 4DX here in Puerto Rico and its awesome! I used to go all the time...but recently i had an accident and lost vision in my left eye, now i can NOT see the 3D on the screen, now it looks like a normal movie to me, but with the effects of the chair and fog, rain, fire, etc. and its not as awesome as it was. So for those monocular people like me, you will not enjoy it as you would had if you could see through both eyes. Atleast i dont anymore, so i stopped going. :(
Sorry to hear about your eye, for some reason movies don't play in 3D much in Australia anymore, or at least in Melbourne, Australia, they used to be on every major Hollywood blockbuster, then every 2nd or 3rd blockbuster, now 3D only plays on 1 in 20 movies. it's a fad that has come & gone.

I remember going to see the movie Earthquake (1974) and it featured what was called Sensurround that was just huge Bass Speakers to simulate a real Earthquake. There were also a few other movies that used this technology, but it died out a few years later due to damage to Theaters caused by the heavy Bass tones.I wonder how sticky the floor is after a show due to drinks in the cup holders that are attached to the seats spilling drinks as a result of the seats rocking and jerking around..
