    Tech Tip...after crimping the terminal onto the wire...lightly coat the terminal and 1/2" of the wire with dilectric grease to ease the insertion of the wire into the boot. Excellent tutorial...thank you.

    If you put the boots on first it's easier and you won't scratch the inside which could cause tracking of the spark.

    The spark plug wire connection at the coil or the plug is often the ignition’s system weakest link. Doing the connection job right eliminates a possible intermittent problem a.k.a frustration source ! Amitiés Donald.

    Great looking pro results and you can tell by just looking at the results that any future pesky ignition problems are unlikely to be due to the spark plug connector. Top job!
    Great video, nicely shot, thanks again Don 👍👌👏

    There's lots of different spark plug wire terminal crimping pliers/tools available. But the one you show is nice & seem to do a good job.

    It's always satisfying to use the proper wire crimping tool for the intended application! Instead of 'carefully' using a hammer and chisel, and hoping for the best. This spark plug wire crimped is no different!

    I just have a tiny issue, I have a 3800 thermocool generator that starts using a push button but the button just stopped working for no reason .
    It starts fine on the pull cord but the button is irresponsive like it's just not working. I've tested the batteries and they read 12v no issues

    I bought another set of crimpers last week, to do my plug wires.. HUGE mistake!!! Just received my 35051 crimper this morning. Thankfully my wire set included two extra connectors, because I have to redo the one I attempted with the other set. It looks pitiful, lol!

    I think first should insert rubber boot in cable than crimp the connector. But that is my opinion.

    i don't mind paying alot for a tool when it does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do.....once you see it do the job, the price means nothing....unless you lose it.....i felt the same way when they came out with the CV boot clamp tool, used it once and it was out of this world

  • @NickHorvath
    @NickHorvath Před 2 lety

    It just occurred to me, have I been doing wire crimps wrong all along? Are you supposed to fold the wire and crimp onto the insulation on normal terminals or just spark plug wires?

    • @kenbrown2808
      @kenbrown2808 Před 2 lety

      Just spark plug wires. Standard crimped wire splices crimp onto the wire and the insulation should sit inside the collar

  • @justincase2281
    @justincase2281 Před 2 lety

    Another good vid. These little details can make all the difference. I just hope it doesn't put a "crimp" in my style. Cuz I'm way cool!! Ask anybody! Really! 😄 Actually, don't. I'm old, balding and I smell like cheese.😵 BTW, everytime I click on one of your videos a commercial pops up showing an electric lawnmower competing with a smoking gas powered mower and the song behind the vid is -"Anything you can do I can do better." Saw an electric mower ON SALE at an ACE hardware store for $659 USD!! They sure couldn't do better on the price.
    Best 👍.
