I have a DVD called Aardman Classics which I got for my 18th Birthday in 2008 and I used to watch this over and over again during the summer months inbetween the academic years of my college and uni year because I was just inspired by everything about this film. The Story, The character and animation techniques used. I even watch with auto commentary from Peter Load and David Sproxton to hear about how it was being done. This is a short film to be proud of, it is so brilliant. Well Done Aardman. Make us proud to be British with British Animation like this.😊👍🏆🎉🇬🇧
There was so much on there. I always remember this and the cat that was singing a like jazzy burlesque song. Also with the n-power/British gas adverts which were like creature comforts.
I had a VHS tape recorded off of TV with War Story and Creature comforts and I think also Ident and boy howdy now I feel really old I'm only 25 by the way
I studied about clay animation when I was in high school 11 years ago I watched the films like Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and Flushed Away those are very amazing

If u like Spike and Mike then ofc you’ve seen this - they showcased Aardman, Craig McCracken (who gave us powerpuff girls), Mike Judge (including the first ever Beavis and Butthead short film), some of Tim Burtons early works, etc

I remembered when I first watched this on the Chicken Run Special Edition DVD and it used to creep me out a little when I was younger. I love this short looking at it now. Although the plasticine Willy was very strange to say the least. 😂👍
A vulnerable and scared new human. I think Willy and his friends in the basket are a perfect part of the depiction of the human condition. Too many see bits and bobs as socio-political nonsense. I can't make good sense of this sentiment in this short format, other than to say there is a certain ... well, nakedness. The guy is scared and alone, and without protection. How else could you more effectively portray that condition?

"Not Without My Handbag" is one that I grew up with and couldn't remember the name of, so thank you for mentioning it! I was able to find the full version on Dailymotion as a result and it brought back childhood memories. I wish I still had that VHS now...
I remember seeing this many times. It's great but being a bit taken aback by the nudity. Not something you see at the time I did on an Aardman work, which were largely family-friendly fare.

Well, the five Lip Synch shorts are on Aardman's channel. Can't stand the mouth and chin that sings "Lip Synch" though.
