The detectives quickly track down two young men believed to be responsible. However, new evidence suggests these suspects may have been only responsible for the robbery with an unknown person entering the apartment after they left.
Season 01, Episode 16, The Third Guy,
Two local hoods (guest stars Eugene Byrd and Rick Gonzalez) are implicated in the murder and rape of an elderly woman, though they claim they only broke in to rob her. With Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni and Richard Belzer.

There’s something I find really disturbing about this one. That poor 72 year old lady.
The guy that identified the killer had a stupid friend whom the detectives offered the deal first.
they do that a lot. make the suspect believe they already decided and have everything they need to convict for life. they often only care about closing the case.
@@marroonrider3193 and the stupid friend was stupid and got sent to 15 years in prison
Good clip
They told him, quite strongly, to take the deal cuz they knew for a fact the other guy would take it. This was probably the only time they were not trying to play someone. Elliot got mad.
It's also used in game theory and statistics.
I like how Stabler hits the table with a smile on his face
Denis O’Hare is a busy actor apart from L&O . . . but it says a lot about him, how frequently the various L&O franchises have called on him to play memorable guest roles.
Same thing with David Harbour and Dan Lauria
oof the one where he was brilliant but schitzophrenic was heartbreaking
Also he played many characters on AHS!!! Great actor!!!
Ya I think he was also in Criminal Minds, pretty sure CSI franchise too...
Denis O' Hara....I remember him, he caused a breakup between Bill and Sookie in True Blood. He must have hid somewhere, became human and committed what he shouldn't have done.
"That Gilligan's-Island-lookin' dude!" 🤣
Crazy. That dude went from being an accountant living in a browstone, beating homeless crackheads in an alley with rebar, to a slowwitted old lady raping delivery man. The law and order verse is nuts.
Didn't he also live in murder house but in a different franchise
@@eggsandbacon121 He lived in murder house, he had his tongue cut off in Miss Robichaux's academy, starred in a freak show, lived in Hotel Cortez, was an actor in Roanoke, found a dead body on a beach in Mass. etc
@@TheSlayerDiary thank you I appreciate that I've had a bunch of strokes since 2020 so I have a hard time putting faces and names together and whatnot
He was also the vampire king of Mississippi in True Blood
He was also a schizophrenic lawyer, militia leader
Dude you're in prison and you're already marked as a target for the inmates. I don't care who you're selling out, it's probably worth it to take it and run
Wait why would he be marked as a target?
@@greenbeantm1096 He was obviously beaten up when he was offered the deal. Considering he showed no sign of fighting back or the will to do so. That's enough of a mark and the problem when prison inmates are your bullies, they don't tend to either hold back or care about causing great bodily harm
@@merikmalhads1676 I doubt if they were convicted they’d be sent to the same place
@@greenbeantm1096 Is he gonna live long enough for that transfer? And who's to say the next one won't be the same story even if he does
@@merikmalhads1676 there wouldn’t be a transfer they would be sentenced to different prisons. It is ver rare/maybe impossible for partners to be sent to the same prison. Due to gangs and escape attempts
I hope he gets arrested and put in jail for killing an elderly. This is why I love Law & Order SVU. People shouldn’t hate Law & Order SVU just because they show bad killers
Whoever hates SVU just because of their killers they show shouldn't be watching TV in the first place.
@@cecejamesable I don’t hate Law & Order SVU. And I don’t hate The Chicago Series on NBC too
@@michelleezeugo5098 I haven't watched the Chicago series is it good?
@@cecejamesable Yeah. You should watch it.
I saw this episode, the situation with the killer is actually a lot more complicated.
It's ok. Alphonso gets out cleans up his act (sort of) and becomes a Vigilante in Star City.
that's where I know him from
My friend is a journalist and told me a story he came across.... a guy in Wales found a body in a ditch, been there over a year and reported it.... they examined her body and found the guy who found the bodies semen inside her, fresh... he didn't kill her but found a body and did the unthinkable.
not unthinkable when there are well known terms to describe the act
@@toomanyaccounts it may not be unthinkable but it certainly is despicable
@@toomanyaccounts CZcams doesn't like certain words.
I don't understand. If the body had been there for over a year how much of it could have even been left?
Imagine being that fucking sexually active you use a dead corpse to let it all out
Smh makes you wonder who you can trust
Nobody!
@Biff Dugan Rules 😂😂😂😂 still bro
lmao you don’t have to worry about anything trust that
@Biff Dugan Rules That is inspired by real life crimes and events
Don't get it twisted this is fiction not reality stay on track this is not the twilight zone or a parrall earth 🤭
the ending to this episode was so depressing… i literally closed my laptop and just sat in the dark for like 10 minutes
what happened ?
@@christieli6227 the guy who killed the lady had hella mental disabilities, iq of like 12, all that jazz. I cant really emulate the emotions of the episode through a yt comment, but its very sad. he ends up getting sent to a mental hospital where everyone there is like 100000x crazier than he is, straight jackets etc. the final scene is him staring at the main room of the insane asylum. quite dark
He had an IQ 1 or 2 points below the line for mental retardation and the big mystery is whether or not he is faking it, as clues point to both. Skoda gets him institutionalized in the end, where he ends up in an asylum for the severely disabled; the reality sets in for him and he realizes this is where he is stuck for the rest of his life. Fitting ending for this guy and played so well by Denis O'Hare
I love SVU and have been binging it recently but that’s how most episodes end for me 😂
@@28hipster i had to stop about halfway through season 3 it was making me too depressed
what's funny.... is i could tell he was guilty from the get-go
He was acting weird and unnatural. he pretended to know who the people were off a vague drawing (???what?)
Now if this was real life the more likely scenario is they wouldn't investigate the delivery man at all.
That’s not how it works. The moment they see that he had been there around her death then they immediately pull him in. Question the suspect. Then it’s over.
I'll take " I will make an unsubstantiated and ignorant comment for 1000.00, Alex" (convenient name)
Weird seeing Vern and Keller get along lmaoo
Lol Oz is such a Griity Show surprised Mariska never made an appearance on Oz
He’s a good actor. He played a character on Bones too.
He was on true blood as well. Russell
They can put him in jail..but hes three thousand years old
He was never the same after he lost Talbot though.
TRUEEE BLOOOD
Especially after slaughtering a newscaster live on the news. "Now time for the weather. Tiffany?
From street punk to cop in L&O: Organized Crime. Well done!
You forgot about TIMO CRUZ! The best shooter before Curry 😂😂😂😂
Who's the examiner that talks to Stabler and Benson? He's a cool dude with good knowledge!
Jameson
For a three thousand year old vampire, he looks pretty good
Is there no follow-up clip? Jimmy's testimony is one of the most skin-crawly things I've ever seen on this show. CZcams used to have full episodes of these ancient crime dramas, for free (just like they appear on TV reruns). Guess now it's all about the greed.
I don't understand why there's all this uncertainty. Didn't they say that whoever it was left semen on the victim's leg?
I KNOW these cops have heard of DNA.
They need proof for a warrant to get the guys DNA
@@Ruiji93 If they had proof, they wouldn't need the DNA.
I don't know what the law says, but I would expect they probably need justifiable cause or reasonable suspicion. Which they have.
@@CZcamsallowedmynametobestolen DNA is always needed, it creates a stronger case in court
Unless it's a government job they won't have the dna on file so they have to have a person of interest to compare the dna against then the guy is either the suspect or they let him go
@@caraelliott9909 "they have to have a person of interest to compare the dna against"
They do have a person of interest.
Smashing the table man i need coffee break
I wish they made a song with the opening theme I love it
There is...

Mariska is so pretty! ❤️
Yes
She gets her looks from her mother, the 1960s blond bomshell Jane Mansfield..
Yeah she is
@@phoenixman8569 don't get her Mr. Universe father
Anybody else find it weird that they act like 72 is so ancient? The way they talk, you’d think she’s 82.
In the context of being raped by someone whose presumable in their 20's, she's real old. To the point nobody at that age should even have those thoughts about her.
She even looked at least 82. 72 is not that old at all, they kept talking like she was insanely old.
Munch has extreme #drip in that pea coat
Look that signature full black and skinny red tie was ahead of it's time. He was dripped DOWN
@@gyalkapone
His black-on-black and black-on-blue looks were also drippy.
I have a fondness for the pink and plum dress shirts and suspenders he wore during the first season, which were dripped out as well.
Thought that was Bob Odenkirk in the thumbnail
This is dark even for Law and Order.
How do you get that intentions for someone who could be your Grandma
Glad they did a lineup
Roman meeting Russel before true blood
Cool to see JK Simmons in his pre Spider-Man days.
What lmaoooo
He, Christopher Meloni and BD Wong were all on Oz together. Whole bunch of other SVU actors too.
He was also the yellow M&M
Nathan Zimmerman I am holleringggggg
He played the dad in Juno
That’s the guy who plays Rene Ramirez on Arrow!
Im sorry this happened
its not bernstein, its berenstain
I still can't believe it
I wish I knew of a place to watch the full episodes in canada without having to get a VPN :(
"Who lives here?" Johnny Frost. "Who cares?" -Joker
this is the first episode where i was already familiar with the case that inspired it
It's season 1, episode 14
Very Interesting -- the actor playing the Detective -- Christopher Meloni, also played as an actor along with fellow actor J,K. Simmons. (here playing the Police Pschologist) in the HBO Prison Series OZ. Small acting world I guess.
I absolutely love the both of them Oz
LOVED THAT SHOW!
Well he was special
So did Verns life take a turn for the worst after this show to end up in OZ?
A lot of what for one guy?
3:05 hha he rlly said "whats up chigga"
After released from esmerald city, vernon schilinger and kris keller changed identity and become cop and psychiatrist, awesome
Love Benson and Stabler!🤘
Russell Edgington!
Why didn't the cops get all the suspects' DNA?
they have to have probable cause.
@@toomanyaccounts they had it. They were caught for the robbery. That’s probable cause. They had his dna on her leg as the video said in the beginning
@@heycece8018 they got the dna from the robbers which didn't match. they didn't have any idea it was the retarded guy until much later. hence they had to have probable cause and they didn't until they figured he was there.
@@heycece8018 probably was gonna be the next step if no one talked. For everyone else they didn’t have probable cause
Obviously, the guy who made the deal should have had the full punishment, without any deals. Like how L&O shows the real world, where the better people don't necessarily get a better deal
My money was on the helper the second he spoke the 1st time.
9:55 is hilarious
Mrs. Bernstein took back her instacart delivery tip!
1:03 i was thinking the same thing, Stabler
This was terrifying to hear my name on the show.
Russel Edgington…vampire king of missisippi… wouldnt put it past him
I thought I recognized him! I couldn't place his face
why did mariska's head double in size over the course of this series?
Olivia and Jose caricoa are falling in love and best friends forever and ever
So the profile describes someone young, inexperienced and introverted
So they ignore the introverted younger delivery guy and go for his senior gigolo partner
I like this show but man can they be dumb as rocks sometimes
retarded didn't occur
OH MY GODS ITS DR EDISON!!
Haha yeah it took me awhile to know where he was one and they I was like Bones
What was Cragen's deal? Offering ideas (from a forensic psychologist, no less) on who the perp might be, or who his rage may be directed at, isn't the same as speaking for him? Otherwise, Skoda or Huang would have nothing to say at all???
Sin births madness 💔
1:48 JAMESON?!?
The one and only...J. JONAH. JAMESON!!!!!
when he said the uniform had a bunch of letters, but they didn't spell anything...
Everyone from the show oz is in this one
This recently happened in Detroit few older victims before he was caught
One has a disabled husband trapped watching couldn’t help😢
Sookie would not approve
Can you imagine if this was on Chicago PD any imagine Hank Voight in this situation he goes full Batman
Just ninty days
Wow they both were in OZ
Not sure if this channel got the episode mixed up, but when I looked it up, it's S1 Ep14 ....Limitations
lol gilligans island looking dude
Who killed her? The delivery guy. I didn’t even watch the whole video 🤣😂
Yeah
Not the delivery guy that saved her though, the mentally handicapped one that they talked to on the way to talk to the guy that did the cpr
Eugene Byrd , best known for his role in 8 mile as the bragging wannabe producer
So... Andy Diggle used to hang out with Rene Ramirez the plot thickens.
Where can i watch this show ?
Is the chick playing Carlos lawyer the same person who plays Lisa cuddy from house md?
Yes it is.
no, not even close
Never say metal retreated to anyone who has it or not Rachel sickon has the same thing okay

Mariska...pretty vampire
timo you're supposed to be shooting 3s man
J. Jonah Jameson is the good Doctor!
10:03
There was a case in NY back in th 70s about an 18 year old kid who raped an 80 year old woman . Think about that one !
There's way way more than one! The elderly and the disabled, even bedridden comatose patients are the favorite targets of rapists. Easy pickings.
JESUS CHRIST ITS THE WIZ
SMH before the days of DNA testing.
