This is such a funny ep. Too bad Steve didn't know that the turtle he later kidnapped from the zoo was a salt water one- & he put in the flesh watered Lake Michigan (that mugshot of him said it all!)

Actually I like the layout of the house. It was the open concept before there were open concepts - and for all the bad taste in it the house has a degree of coziness about it. Of course most sitcom houses were similar - all the background furniture that never seems to get used.

David Earl Garrison (the actor who played Steve) wanted to pursue theater work more. He left the show on good terms & later guest appeared in the later seasons.
