As Mike Tyson once quoted: "Social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it." It's sad to see Pikamee treated in such a matter. All we can do at this point is enjoy the time we have left as the smol teakettle of joy and wish her all the best in her future endeavors after graduation.

He's dead right. I was punched and bullied a lot in school. Never fought back because the teachers were on the bullies side as they all were friends with the kids parents and drank with them and got gifts etc. Also my family was poorer and kept to themselves so we were the "weirdos" of the town.
It was so bad even the girls would beat me up because they knew there would be zero consequence for it. Luckily I had good friends who stood by me but they got bullied just as much as me for similar reasons.
Didn't help I was also a pacifist back then who didn't like fighting outside of video games and movies.
As I got older I changed my view on the world and became more aggressive when dealing with people. Made people earn my respect whilst still showing decency to others and learnt to fight back when needed.

I was genuinely concerned and had thoughts about this ending in a very bad way for her, especially after bearing her backstory.

I can't say I know much about her and her talents, but if she's talented there are avenues for her to take in the area of anime and other VA-related media. She may even have accepted an offer as we speak. I wish her well.

I've never been more pissed off than I am now. But what makes me happy is that Pikamee without a doubt is going to have a wonder life time ahead of her while the scumbags who harrassed her will inevitably suffer a horrible fate that they absolutely deserve. It is a sad day, indeed. I never thought I would see a worse hit to the feels than Coco or Sana, this proved me terribly wrong, this hurts way worse. I have already taken the opportunity to leave a message for her and I would urge anyone who is thinking about it to do the same. I will be watching her channel like a hawk for any further activity so as to spend as much time in her streams and show as much support as possible and, if she does have a graduation stream, I will be there as well to send her off in the best way I can manage on my end and I encourage any others, Pikamee fans or otherwise, to be there if they can. This is a huge loss to the community, she served as a light in the darkness that sometimes shows, a beacon. With her graduation, that light goes out, that beacon is no more.
This must serve as a lesson, a hard one given its consequences, that we cannot let this continue. If there is more to come, it must be met head on in the most civil way possible while still standing our ground in defense of these talents, these people, or they will follow in her footsteps. This cannot be allowed to happen again. For now, though, we focus and give her the best last day as Pikamee she can have.

Like Coco's, hers was one of the harder graduations to witness because of her influence on the community even without reaching the one year anniversary that the rest of Council was able to experience, which they would end up doing including a tribute in the form of a full Council cover of her only single to be released using a fan-made instrumental cover made as a tribute to her for the music to sing to. If you look up the title, you should find it, the song is called astro girl and the instrumental cover is by WHUNDR. There are clips of Council singing it at the anniversary as well.
The quote "good things can't last forever" REALLY hit hard on this one, I hope Pika enjoys her life FAR away from the internet. She did not deserve what happen to her no matter what others believe.

I had a police escort back in middle school because a rumor got started and only 6 weeks later did it stop after my father dropped a multimillion dollar lawsuit against the school and several parents. I had to switch schools and even when I went back to public school years later I was still called "Columbine Kid". Luckily, I had a wonderful family and friends to help me through that horrible time in my life. This was back in the 2004 - 2009.....I can't imagine dealing with that now with social media.

I am someone who suffered bullying in school for the majority of my formative years. Boys, girls, did not matter. I was the weak, out of shape kid in the playground and everyone took their shot at me, even some of the most shy people in my clase were easily peer-pressured to push me around.
I know what that feels like and I know how hard it gets to deal with such a situation...
I feel for Pikamee, hell I was really pissed at what happened... but I eventually came to the conclussion that she would eventually make her own decision. Its not my decision to make.
All I can really say is that, from my experience, I watched some people who got bullied actually pull trough, different folks just have different ways to dealing with it and pushing trough.
(Just as a small post scriptum, my way of dealing with it was the classical resolve of getting fit and begining to train in martial arts. Never had to punch or kick anyone after I began learning, but it did give me confidence and discipline to face down any bully that attempted to threathen me from then on).
People who tweet it’s not their fault or blame the “right-wing movement” for their own actions are clearly at fault.

People weren’t designed to handle receiving such intense hate from so many people at the same time. I imagine that alone would be devastating to someone’s mental health. There’s always stuff goin on behind the scenes when it comes to vtubers. Take Rushia for example. At first people thought the GTA incident was the sole reason why she got terminated but later it was revealed that it’s not the case. It’s too early to jump to conclusions & we can’t rule out the possibility of personal reasons being the cause of her graduation. Vtubers have a life outside of the internet after all

Pikamee was the vtuber I watched the most, primarily because of how much she leaned into making things interesting for both the EN and JP audiences. As someone who has jumped on the Language Learning Bandwagon, her streams really made active listening fun for me. I'll miss you--my sweet, family friendly kettle.
