Lilly, with the amount of electronic devices you have in your bag, I would recommend a larger faraday bag to keep all of them in. Solar charger included!
It would be terrible to carry all that just to discover none of it is functioning in shtf situation.

When hubby and I worked the wildfires in south Georgia some years back we were assigned to offer water support to a tribe of native Americans from Oklahoma that performed manual ground fire suppression and they taught us to always carry an unscented dryer sheet when in the woods as it acts better than any bug repellent. They tucked it in the back of their cap and let it flap down their neck and upper back and boy it does the trick!!! I would add a dryer sheet to my get home bag for sure 😊 Great video Lilly!

I don’t care where you are in the world but the first thing to think about is defense, it’s great being prepared with kits and SHTF bags and gears but it’s not enough these days. Ten to fifteen years ago we were pure prepared individuals learning and sharing kits and gears but reality is harsher than we realized. It used to be get home safely with survival gears but now it’s get home in one piece. Shelter, first aid, food and water were the simple ideas. Muscle memory on defense is key to today’s survival strategy, not everyone can carry a gun which is understandable, but overlooking the alternative could be fatal in situations that can arise. Wild animals and neglected dogs are dangers that shouldn’t be overlooked, best way to deal with them is pepper spray or make your own with pepper extract and alcohol or vinegar.

A CBRN mask won't do you much good with many of the chemical agents; They are not just gases but mists and can penetrate your skin on contact with any contaminated surface.
Also, many chemical agents have very different coatings that are completely ineffective for other agents. You would need a test kit to classify exactly what the hazard was. (simple example, ammonia is very different than chlorine and they are both very different for organic solvents).
For B (biological) any N95 or better mask would work fine. The same for RN (radiological, nuclear) as it is primarily dusts from fallout that you would want to keep out of your lungs.
    ++
The cartridge may only have an operational life of 8-24 hours before it is saturated. I had to wear one while doing exposure testing for a benzine spill (with a Drager hand pump and glass indicator tube) and the levels were so high that I was 'tasting' benzine after 5 minutes of exposure. I quickly ran out of that area and the only work we did in that environment after that was while wearing a full suit with an airline supplying positive pressure air to the entire suit. The Drager sampler was supposed to be something like 10 or 20 pumps to get enough atmosphere inside so the tube would change color a certain distance along the glass tube. It went full dark after 3 pumps so he levels were beyond our ability to measure.

Good bag, but socks and a beanie should still fit into.
It is a little different from mine .
But mine doubles as a bug out bag..
If a gasmask is necessary is everybodys personal decision.
For me it is to heavy on electronics.
I also have a pair of good small binoculars but I keep no electronic divices in my bag , just a powerbank, headlamp and I rather have extra socks, long wool underwear , a emergency bivy and a couple tools like a big screwdriver, channellock pliers etc. .
I do have masks ,radios etc but those stay home and go with some other items into an extra bag for the bug out case.
Two 'EPA' meals plus a couple bars emergency food and instant coffee plus sugar, included is also a small esbit stove.
    About 3000 calories total.
I do carry some very basic hygiene stuff, like a toothbrush, soap and a small comb also some.insect repellent and, most important:
    spare glases.
Some cash is recommend and like you I still keep some space in the pack to ad a lethal and/or a non lethal device.

@@ApocGuy depends on a lot of factors. Wind, topography, humidity, temperature, etc…).
There is or used to be a bunch of free software you can download from the US government (epa.gov) called MARPLOT, CAMEO, ALOHA, and RMPCOMP* that will help you model a chemical release scenario and map it. It’s crappy glitchy as hell and hard to use but it works eventually. I used to use them a lot when I was doing environmental consulting.
Anhydrous Ammonia is a huge acute toxic chemical hazard that’s everywhere. Most of your industrial food storage and processing refrigeration units use it because it cheap and effective. It’s also used in many industrial chemical manufacturing processes. It’s most commonly transported by rail cars and in a worst case release scenario you don't want to be within approximately 3 miles of the leak if just one rail car leaks all its contents. This is especially true if it’s cold and low humidity. The ammonia will hug the ground. If it’s hot and humid the ammonia will float higher into the atmosphere and disperse more quickly and water vapor absorbs something like 8x its weight in ammonia which becomes aqua ammonia solution. It’ll stink like strong window cleaner and sting your skin but not give you a chemical burn unless you get it in your eyes or other sensitive area.
If you ever want to find out what Extremely Hazardous Substances, the EPA’s term for highly regulated VERY toxic chemicals) are in your area you can legally do it several ways. You can visit a Federal Reading Room in your state and ask to see the Risk Management Plans that local industry has filed with the EPA. Alternatively you can file a state open records act (FOIA is for federal government agencies, not state) request to your local fire department or state/local jurisdiction emergency management agency for all Title 3 Community Right to Know Act Tier 2 annual chemical inventory reports commercial entities have to file every year. Don’t be surprised if you get some pushback and questions about why you want said info. You don’t have to answer them and they can’t legally deny you that info. You may even get visits from law enforcement if the bureaucratic Karen’s get stupid. I’m not responsible if you get put on a watchlist or get the full Monty colonoscopy treatment SSSS boarding pass gate rape treatment by the TSA every time you fly from now on if you try this.

If you are preparing for an ABC accident, you should consider more protection equipment, like an ABC blanket (check the SBU-67 Schutzumhang), strong plastic bags & tape for your feet, vinyl gloves, and of course extra water (only a few water filters on the market can handle radioactive or chemical contamination). A few analog dosimeters (Stabdosimeter FH39 from the Bundeswehr for example) will be more appropriate than the Geiger counter, since they don't require any energy supply, are EMP proof and will allow you to estimate the overall radiation dosis going into your body. Knowing this will be very helpfull once you get medical assistance. Dosimeters belong to the standard issue in the nuclear industry and the military.

You are not in a closed space and you will not stay there either. If you do not make it with one filter then you already have too little food and drinking water with you. Pathogens can be filtered out of the water, chemical pollution cannot with a simple filter. I would rather take 1kg of water with me than 1/2 kilo of extra filter.

He hung in his hammock until the other doctor returned. He had no salt, no sugar, no potassium. He said as a doctor going into such a humid environment, i should have known better. Add a small bag of light brown sugar rather than refined sugar, and magnesium potassium asporotates capsules as supplements and you should be good to go. 3M sells adapters to turn the 40mm gas mask thread into a bayonet style filter for the 2091 (P100) and the 7093 cartridge filter. Both of these filters are P100/particulate filters, great for fire smoke, dust/dirt, and airborne viruses and bacteria. Only critique I'd offer. drop that terrible "night vision" thing, and replace the size/weight with some real food, like a jar of peanut butter. There's so much light coming out of the back end of that thing, you turn it on and it'll light up your position, and it will blind you once you take it off.

Lily instead of using a tampon, try getting an empty pill bottle and some cotton balls and vaseline. You stick the cotton balls in the vaseline covering most of the cotton ball. Then you put about 7 or 8 cotton balls covered in vaseline in the pill bottle. They will float on water and still burn. They are small and light and take up no more room than a pill bottle. They are easy to light and burn for a few minutes giving you time to add kindling. Try it but be careful to remove the cotton balls with a small stick to use for fire. If you get vaseline on your fingers and start a fire you could light your fingers on fire.
