Just a natural beauty. As a young black female, I cried when she won Miss America. Some of my friends were saying oh she looks white that’s why she won. I didn’t care what she looked like, SHE’S BLACK and I am too!
@@Cutay7BOOTAY Such an achievement. And you have won Miss America when? Or what was the name of your platinum album. You last movie? Hey. My daughter is studying now (20 years old) and already has a completed vocational training under her belt. Now studying while working 35 hours a week, modeling in the summer-time and having a side job 4 times a week.
That's what makes me proud and that's what she can be proud of besides having an awesome personality. That's called hard work and has nothing to do with skin color.

I am glad to see this video because I have been thinking about my life and the 'death' of things that you mourn. You have to go through the grieving process and realize that you still have things to do in life. You are still alive. I like her comment of knowing who you are. That is real. You have to decide on what type of person you want to be. Do you want to be an optimistic person or a pessimist. It is up to you to decide. Her parents not passing judgment on her was a blessing and the fact that she had family support. I am glad she became successful.

Vanessa, your a beautiful human being inside and out. People sometimes do things for reasons we know not of. When I was 21 I was living up north but from Orange County. I broke up with someone I was with for 4 years and didn't know what to do. I saw and ad in a magazine and needed quick money so I drove to the Hollywood Hills and did some nude modeling stuff for a magazine. I got the money I needed. Signed the model release form. I was told that if I wanted to do more to give them a call but never did. To this day I never actually saw the photos or where they went. That was in the early 80's too. It helped me figure out what I was going to do next on my own. I think I'm still a good person, so I never really think about it But I will never forget it either. The people were nice to me. That meant more to me at that time than anything.

I don't know the details of what happened to Vanessa Williams but why does everyone make such a bid deal about Vanessa making a mistake? The person who put the pictures out is the idiot. She seems so charming and beautiful on the inside and out. A really strong and amazing woman.

The Racists of America couldn't stand the thought or idea of what a Black Miss America represented. For starters, what they had been brainwashed into believing was the ultimate standard of beauty had now become somehow tarnished as far as they were concerned, Right?! So they couldn't rest, and they wouldn't rest until they found a way to bring her down....or so they thought😉. Which is true for every and any person of color who is the "First" in their culture to make achievements in their fields of choice and/or expertise, Right?! So what they did was dug up something from her past that would be deemed unacceptable/ intolerable that would paint her in a negative light in the eyes of the American public (mainly an already Racist American public) to say "SEE she doesn't deserve the Title of Miss America!!!!" Obviously the interviewer had professional backstage Hair & Makeup done before this interview while Vanessa seems to be " au naturale" here. She still defies age IMO. If I'm correct she would have been 52, possibly 53 here. Makeup, eyelashes, and hair prep do wonders, especially when you are going on camera. Bravo to the former Beauty Queen for having the guts to do the interview in spite of the lack of Royal treatment. This is definitely "low budget" but she did it anyway. I wonder if she knew that there would be no "touching up" her face (which appears to have rosacea) before she agreed to the interview. Interesting.
I like the nude photos. they gave her an edge. shed be so dull had she kept the miss america title. shed be some forgotten broadway actress. she was ahead of her time in a way.

She could never "pass" for a White woman. Even though she's gotten lighter as she gets older, she actually looks east Asian here.

No it wouldn't actually, good question it wouldn't put a dent on someones career now and it just isn't a big deal now in our current times.
But in 1984 i think it was the year were those photo's were leaked it was so frowned upon back in those days and people were easily shocked and judgmental about same sex content and those photo's were way ahead of their time for the year they were taken (1982) and very very explicit.

I could tell that Vanessas nose looked a lot different from when she was on the Miss America pageant and did interviews in 1984 and she was not in the public eye for about 3 years when she came out as a singer with the albums the right stuff in 1986.a plastic surgeon that was comparing pictures of celebrities with old and new pictures said he could tell just by looking at the before and after pictures if someone had work done. And he said most celebrities try to hide it from the public
He compared all of these celebrities. Pamela Anderson, Vanessa Williams, he said her nose looked a lot thinner and straight. It looked wider and bigger in the Miss America pageant and in interviews she gave in 1984.she had a perfect nose after she became a singer. Pamela Anderson nose looked perfect after her nose job she was more beautiful. Lisa rinnas nose looked perfect from the after picture than the picture of her in high school. A perfect nose makes a major difference in how beautiful a woman looks. I noticed that a lot of three celebrities noses looked different before when I saw pictures of them when they were younger before I found out they had a nose job. You can tell it if you pay attention.

I think this was some local show where no one put Vanessa in hair and make-up. She's a real person. I'm sure she doesn't wake up in the morning looking like she's about to go on stage.
This woman is still pretty at 55 years old snd no make up. Not too many look like this even at 35.
Those wrinkles tells a story of her. She looks so good like aged wine.
Your just used to seeing get with makeup. But keep in mind that she is at least 50yrs old when this was recorded. Now go and compare other cultural women at 50. And report back what you see.
Vanessa Williams was born in March 1963 so she will be 55 this year in 2018.go back and look at pictures when she was younger she was beautiful in her 20s and 30s and she started to look worse as she got older. She is not beautiful anymore. She looks good for her age. But, she looks her age. And celebrities will get plastic surgery and the public will not know it. A plastic surgeon that was a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon was on the Dr's. Tv show and he said he had did a lot of plastic surgery on now famous models and actreses and rich people. He said he did nose jobs and other plastic surgery on the face to a lot of the famous models and actresses before they became famous. He didn't name names. And he still does work on a lot of them. I found out a lot of celebrities had nose jobs that I didn't know. I knew some of them on the list had nose jobs. They compared old photos of them beside how they look now. The surgeon can tell by comparison. The noses looked a lot different in the new photos than the old ones. The surgeon said these people have had nose jobs. I knew Pamela Anderson, Latoya Jackson Janet Jackson, but he said these also had nose jobs, Hallie berry, Kim Kardashian, Brooke sheilds, Vanessa Williams, Kylie Kardashian, tyra banks, Kirstie alley, Lisa rinna, Angelina Jolie., and more, you can tell when they compare pictures side by side before the nose job and after. The nose stays the same even if you lose or gain weight. I saw pictures of Vanessa Williams when she was on the Miss. America pageant. Her nose was wider and bigger. She was still really pretty. And I saw interviews that she did in 1984 and her nose looked totally different than when she came out again to the public in 1987 when she put her first record out to become a singer. Her nose was slimer than before and looked perfert. She really looked beautiful after she had her nose fixed. If you go back and look at Lil's interviews she did in 1984 and later look at the difference in her nose when she came out again with the album comfort zone. You can tell by comparing the interview of her and the videos she did later in 1987 that her nose looks a little different. She did not have a perfect nose before and she did later as a singer. The plastic surgeon said most celebrities try to hide it from the public when they get plastic surgery.
