- This is towards the end of the movie, "The Sixth Sense" starring Toni Collette and Haley Joel Osment. This movie was directed by M. Knight Shyamalan. Bruce Willis is also in the movie, but not in this scene.

Toni Collette was flawless in this scene. Incredible performance. I would give her an oscar just for this.
dageezerboi yeah i think so too. She is the best this scene was so mesmerizing to me
WHAT I never realize this was Toni Collette
dageezerboi I can totally watch this 20 years later and still be moved by her performance. She’s amazing.
Yeah, brilliant in Hereditary as well...
you would give her? 😂
can't believe she was 27 at the time. what an actress
She was born in November 1972. This film was released in 1999, before her 27th birthday. So she was probably 25 or 26 depending on how long filming took. But still very young! One of my favourite actresses 💗
What's her name ?
@@s.p1512 Toni Collete
@@kpopmessedmalifeup Thanks
@@judithmurphy4133 She looks 35
Best child actor...
Jaska Penttilä U did get that sure right
Of course as a useful reminder that 90% of time child actors have been brilliant throughout the film history: they are always at their natural best - and products of especially careful personal direction.
what about Natalie in Leon the Professional
Anna Paquin in The Piano is defenitly the best watch it - both holly hunter and her won the actress oscars
@@A-G-A-G now i have to watch it
I think why this scene is so powerful is because everyone can relate to having lost someone in their life and have that desire to know that they made some kind of positive impact on the lost ones life.
Well as for me it's overwhelmingly due to Toni Collette's brilliant performance. You can't help but to feel for her (and his son) but no personal history popped into mind.
Ivestor1 A couple of months ago when I watch this clip for the first time, I didn’t have a relative passed away, but now I do. And that hurts every time I think about it.
I think it’s so overwhelming because she suddenly unterstands and they feel finally close to each other - for the first time in the film. It’s reflected in her own story with her own mother.
And to know that their loved ones are still here somehow. 😢
👌
Manly tears were shed.
Lots of....
👌
: )
Toni Collette. Australian actress - not only KILLS this scene but still manages to keep a flawless Philly accent. She and Meryl Streep are my two favorite actresses of all time.
I agree, she is absolutely fantastic. Love her in whatever she's in.
She's amazing
and her recent performance on hereditary was totally outstanding
Alex Maldonado go the aussies
👌
"She wanted me to tell you she saw you dance"... that line, so powerful
You can see that the kid didn't need to add the rest of the story. Mom understood instantly.
No other actress could ever of played Toni's role in this movie, especially this scene! You can't help but get choked up because she's choking up.. Very talented actress to be able to get the audience to copy her emotion
They way her eyes instantly gloss over at the right time is incredible.
Ever of? What's that supposed to mean?
Such a powerful scene. Toni Colette deserved an Oscar for this scene alone.
Two amazing actors.
the acting in this scene is just absolutely brilliant. from the young Haley Joel osment and especially from Toni Colette! brings tears to my eyes every time. this is why I love cinema and dramatic film
Damn, Toni Collette cannot catch a break as a mother dealing with supernatural shit
This movie was so intense. Horror and drama scenes like this, true masterpiece.
👌
Hi. I like your reviews.
I have never regarded the Soth Sence as a "Horror Film"!
Even now, I can't get through this scene without crying
While this may be a "horror" movie, it still strikes a chord with me as an incredibly emotional movie about moving foreword
Megan Owens This was a horror movie?
+grace calis
psychological thriller
+Megan Owens It was like a fucking tear gas grenade exploded in my room after this movie.
+Megan Owens was NOT a horror movie at all.
+Tommy Orr Jr hence my quotation marks. Probably should have said supernatural thriller I know
This is my favourite scene too. I cry everytime I see it. Cole's grandmother gave him the keys to both reach and reassure Lyn.
The best thing in this is how everything naturally and dynamically flows in here, just very real, the conversations and emotions, which build up layer by layer, with subtle and careful construction of gradual intensity.
Omg I started crying that was so emotional xxx 😭 two great actors
Toni Collette made this scene unforgettable, I don't believe in spirits of loved ones visiting us, but this scene still makes me cry because of her powerful performance
I feel dead inside, so I come to watch this clip sometimes just to see if I still have any feelings left. I cry everytime.
Self obsessed much ?
@@peterherrington3300 Don't be such a prick.
that’s not a nice thing to say is it ? I’m sure you wouldn’t like someone to be so unkind to you in the same way if you had problems in life you were struggling with.
@@peterherrington3300 thats a cruel and harmful thing to say, this person is clearly having a tough time, try showing some compassion, please
5 years on, how are you doing now?
this scene makes me cry because finally his mother believed that he sees a ghost
👌
The way Osment says "ghosts" is incredible in showing Cole's bravery in telling his mother, his pure innocence and general fear of them.
the same actress from Hereditary, she really deserves an Oscar
Dude you should see one of her early films, Muriel's Wedding. She manages to be hilarious and heartbreaking simultaneously. Recommend you see it.
Brilliant acting by both. Toni Collette is woefully underrated, I still can't believe she hasn't won an Oscar!
I've always loved this scene. I still think it is one of the single most well acted, written, and directed scenes in any film. Just perfect, touching, and lovely.
The culmination of the characterization of the movie. The characters are so well written, they are real and we empathize them and this one here is the payoff. What an amazing scene and my favorite also.
I think this goes down as one of the most incredible movie scenes ever. Two absolutely incredible actors. It's actually impossible for either of them to give a bad performance and they've both been in some really shitty films in the past, but they never fail to impress.
excellent performance from both of them. very strong acting.
This scene brought tears to my eyes the first time I saw it back in 99 and to this day, it STILL makes me cry!
Good luck man.
I watched this movie in 2000
When I was 13..
The whole film, this is my favorite scene, get emotional when I watch. Toni Colette is involved actually in the scene, the crying is real.
M. Night Shyamalan has had a lot of sensitivity to create this scene.
Scene BRILLIANT, FANTASTIC, I love it.
Man, this scene breaks me down every single time!!! I love this movie!!
Even now it makes me cry.
Considering his age, he should of won the Oscar that year. Joke really..
+Kevin Fairweather Yep I can't believe that both Haley Joel Osment and Toni Collette were nominated in their respective categories and neither won - absolutely robbed, both of them
Makes you wonder really doesn't it !
Wonder what? What to have for breakfast tomorrow? What finger to insert into my rectum?
It is a figure of speech..
Kevin Fairweather ignore it, don't feed the trolls
this is one of those incredible movie scenes.. brilliant acting too.
It is Wednesday afternoon 2019 and I am crying like a baby
Now this is creepy
Cuz i am reading this exactly in a Wednesday afternoon
Me too!
Very emotional. One of Bruce Wilsl best acting role. The whole cast was brilliant.
Such a powerful scene, made more powerful by two amazing performances. It's crazy to think that Haley Joel Osmond was a little kid, but held his own with Toni Collette in this scene. Awesome acting, great movie. @ Patrick Dyer I'm with you man, its obvious Shyamalan at one point had genuine talent, hopefully someday he can find it again.
What a scene! So powerful
best movie ever. Great acting and best mom ever. so supportive of her son. holding down multiple jobs and still loving accepting him at the end of the day. got damn.
She's so brilliant, I totally sat there in the movie theater thinking "how come I never saw her before, when she's this good? maybe she does mostly stage work..."
Her Philly accent had me convinced she was American. Then I saw her name in the credits: "Toni Collette," and realized she was the Australian actress who was so great in Muriel's Wedding. She looked and acted so different I didn't even recognize her from the previous time I'd seen her in a film.
That's good acting.
This scene was beautifully done. I cry every time I see it
This is my favorite scene too! Makes me tear up every single time. Toni Collette is such an amazing actress.
Ive seen this moment on screen SOOO many times and it still makes me break down like a baby.
I think about this scene all the time. It comes back to me, again and again. Something about the weight being handed back and forth, loving, fearing, grieving together, all at once... it is wonderful
This is my favorite scene too, I actually came on here just to see if it was here, I'm not an easy crier but this makes me cry EVERY time I see it.
This scene always makes me tear-up. Superb acting.
This scene clinched the Oscar nomination for the kid. A heartfelt scene about the bond between mom and son. My GF starts crying as well when she watches this scene.
I TOTALLY agree. They are both amazing and I couldn't imagine anyone two other actors playing their roles. They had great chemistry and this has always been my favorite scene in this movie! :D
Toni Collette was robbed of the Oscar!
This scene is so deep 👌
I am choked up every time I see this scene. The acting - on Toni Colette's and Haley Joel Osment. The sensitive and tender way of dealing with such a difficult subject. That's just it: it is a very tender subject, our loved ones in the next world, Malcom and his wife, and those people who are sensitive to it. It can be scary, but many times not. This is one of my favorite movies of all time as it makes my hair stand on end, but touches my heart very deeply at the same time.
Beautiful scene with 2 amazing performances xx I sob every time that I watch it xx
everyone talking about the ending, while I'm crying watching this scene.
No matter how many times I watch this scene, I still find it very powerful.
Very touching and powerful scene. I got tears. Both characters produced the best acting.
Yeah, I’m watching this in 2023 & I’m still sobbing…
Toni is incredible.
That movie is so intense and emotional. i love m night shyamalan films!
The emotional impact of this scene is incredible. I get teary-eyed and think about my late sister everytime I watch this. Toni Collette makes you cry along with her and then you have to watch it over and over again......so you can cry some more. BEAUTIFUL.
I’m so sorry for your loss 😢🙏
It is so hard not to shed a tear watching this scene.
Amazing acting by Toni Collette..
This is an acting masterclass.
Haven't seen this movie for a very long time but the intensity of this scene had me reaching for tissues again. Powerful performance by Haley and Toni. If a movie messes with your emotions like this scene, it has been a success.
2020. Still cry over both actors, best of the best here. :(
She was nominated for an Oscar, but sadly didn't win. She truly was incredible in this scene.
Angelina Jolie won for Girl Interrupted.
This was also my fave scene of this brilliant and very classic film, I believe this scene alone got both Haley Joel Osment & Toni Collette those Oscar nods. Collette is such an amazing actress, her facial expressions of OMG are just brilliant. And when he tells her about her about grandma who's dead, she just amazing the way she holds it together. Scene makes me break in lots of tears everytime even if i know what's going to happen. Haley Joel Osment was such a gifted actor, what happen to him?
I'll be 48 in a month. I've watched a LOT of films in my life. And there's several scenes that never leave me. This one, Braveheart when William rides into the village after his wife, the '' it's not your fault & pondside monologue in Good Will Hunting. Along with those are some of greatest acting in the history of cinema. Robin Williams, Toni Colette, Haley Joel Osment and Patrick McGoohan all gave performances that to me were truly unforgettable.
i still cry to this the day whenever i watch this scene. just imagine ur own kids telling you things about your past that he or she couldn't possibly have known, especially a heartwrenching memory as that.
It's my favourite scene too Toni's acting is superb, makes me well up every time!
Toni is amazing; absolute a-ma-zing.
They both did a very good job in this scene it's not many movie scenes that will hit you inside your mind , body, soul
Amazing scene. I love how no matter what he says, she tries to believe it instead of just dismissing. Brilliant mother, brilliant scene.
Man, that scene stands on it's own. It's like s short film. There's so much going on with the reactions and facial expressions and emotions.
This scene almost made me cry when I saw it at the movies back in 2000
love how she gets whenever he ask's her questions like that she seems realy urgent at letting him no that she does love him and that she would never think he's crazy or a freak or anything..... realy sad scene but my fav
One damn fine film I will NEVER forget...
"You thought she didn't come to see you dance, she did. And that's why she died..."
aVi Rot when you trying to be funny but fail
aVi Rot haha i laughed
Ooooooo!
Fck that's funny..lol
Toni deserved the Oscar just for this scene, her acting is perfect and the tears are genuine.
this movie is powerful because it hits you from every angle: you're already tense and scared and then you get hit by such a dramatic moment, and then a clever twist ending.
one of the smartest films i've seen
Incredible scene with two superb actors. This movie is a modern day classic. It's not really about ghosts. It's about the relationship between a mother a son. That's the heart of this film. The ghost element is simply the device that allows that relationship to be explored. Brilliant movie.
this always brought tears to my eyes
To any Kingdom Hearts fans like me who may be here: Haley Joel Osment did the voice for Sora about three years after this. He has always been an incredibly good actor, both in movies and voice acting. This is an amazing film.
What a powerfully moving scene. The acting by both is oscar winning. One of my favourite films ever and this scene is possibly the best acted in the movie. Great choice.
I love this Scene it Reminds Me that our Loved Ones are Watching Us even if We carnt See or hear them ❤
"Standing next to my window" hahaha imagine your 8 year old sons says that to you..
32bikkeltje I would piss in my pants
Well, dude, when I was a little kid (like two or three years old) I had two 'imaginary' friends, Martha and John. Apparently I drove my parents nuts because I would insist they were real and couldn't understand why no one else could see them. The thing is, I can actually REMEMBER them; Martha was a girl of seven or eight and used to wear an old-fashioned print dress. John was a bit older, perhaps ten, and had brown pants held up with braces. I wasn't scared - as far as I was concerned they were just two additional playmates. I don't recall exactly when I stopped seeing them - I got older and the world intruded, and one day I realised I hadn't seen Martha and John for a while.
@@chooseyourpoison5105 fuck that
@@chooseyourpoison5105 that is creepy
@@ramaarafat4608 Honestly, they weren't creepy. They looked as solid as you or I, and I never had the impression that they meant any harm - the only difference was that nobody else could see them, but kids being kids, I didn't worry about that aspect of it too much and just enjoyed my playmates.
i still watching the movie in 2016. one of the best movie.
popojipps and 2017
I don't remember any child scene like that when a little kid performed so realistic.. absolutely yes, brilliant, flawless
I have watched this movie in the movie theatre in Japan before.
He plays well. Admirable.
Arguably the most moving, best acted movie scene of all time. A vastly underrated film, this scene alone deserves an oscar. Thank you so much for posting it.
my favourite scene too, 😊
Love this scene.
"She said the answer is, every day. What did you ask?" OMG. Gets me every time.
I just watch this movie for this one part. Toni Collete is an amazing actresss. Shame she didn't win the Oscar that year, she certainly deserved it.
Beautiful scene
Went to the gym. Did 30 pull ups. Didn't break a sweat. Watched a kitten die on the street. Didn't bat an eye. Watched this scene. Cried so loud my neighbours got worried...
Aww, you are good.
I hadn’t realized how truly great this film was. I liked it when I saw it in 1999, liked it very much, but I didn’t have a true appreciation for its total brilliance.
AHHHHHHHHHH tears...every dam time...I can never hold back from balling my eyes out on this scene..it never fails...definitely the best scene of this film and one of the best scenes in film history.
not a horror film but a thoughtful one
Is someone cutting onions down below or what? (,- -)
Yep she nailed it!!!
It's my favourite scene to, it still brings me to tears.
I love the ending is to see how much the mom loves the son and how incredibly smart the boy to communicate and be able to link the evidences for her mom to believe him.
I am a man and this scene makes me cry every time...
