Of course. I have been a NYG fan my whole life. I watched Super Bowls XLII and XLVI, my personal 2 favorites
Yeah the team is not doing too well these days... đ€ŠđŸđ€ŠđŸđ€ŠđŸ...
@marcus Simmons look now lol we going into the bye with 2 straight wins
The greatest EVER.
8-8 will win division in 2021 lol
LT was more than just a great player. I will never forget when the team broke for lunch at training camp and my five year old son was upset because he wasn't able to meet any Giants. LT was on his way out with Rodney Hampton, saw my son crying, got out of the car, rubbed his head and signed his plastic football. My son now lives in Texas but he's still a big Giants fan.
FORSKINS. JOE. THYSMEN. SENDS. HIS. LOVE....NITEMARES AND ALL. ( đ± SCREAMS ) !!!!!!
Glad LT made your sonâs day!!
He'd probably still be the best player on our defense right now
Edit: well not anymore will a 60 year old LT be the best player on the defense, proud of graham judge and gettleman
Not probably, definitely... Or do you mean at his age right now
Lol
Eman Brutus ofc now lmao if it was in his prime than heâs better than the whole defense combined
đđđđđ
Probably?
Not really a Giants fan but this guy is the best defender in NFL history
and ended QB's careers
I grew up in North Jersey less than 10 miles from the "Mentalands". I was always a die hard Jets fan. So...not a Giants fan....but you did not have to be a Giants fan to understand that you were watching probably the greatest player of all time. Here are some certainties about LT. First, most feared player on the field in any game he played. And he was NOT a dirty player. Almost impossible for him to get flagged for a late hit...he was in the pocket faster than the QB.
Second, always double-teamed...NEVER mattered. Amazing...Wide Receivers and Defensive Ends get double teamed...but a Line-backer?..only Defensive Player that had to have a "Spy" put on him..lol.. Not only was he always making the tackle and/or stripping the ball...he always arrived at the ball with incredible ferocity. You knew you were going to get hit yet still coughed up the ball. Third, coaches actually changed entire game plans to accomodate LT's presence on the field.
When LT got drafted out of NC I remember watching that first season..all Giant games aired on CBS Channel 2. It was clear then that this guy was "special"....40 years later, still a Jets fan....but I will say in MY opinion having been fortunate enough to see some of the greatest players of all time play the game, LT was for sure the greatest Defensive Player that I ever saw play the game and probably the Best Player Period that I ever saw play the game.
LT in his 1986 "Prime" would still dominate in today's game. And sorry to say...QBs would definetely have a shorter shelf life. All NFL teams should retire #56.
As a Washington fan, trust me, LT was the BEST defensive player EVER!
nah. that title belongs to derrick thomas
Word's of Complete wisdom n, Truth..
When Chuck Norris goes to sleep, he checks if Lawrence Taylor is under the bed.
Only if he's looking to buy some coke.
If Chuck Norris ever thought about putting hands on L.T., Chuck would wake up and apologize
Nah
And when Lawrence Taylor goes to sleep, he check for Bruce Lee under his Bed.

@@jangofett8210 No they are not. That is a silly thing to say.
Greatness!!! He was like superman.
Man those jerseys were lit. The helmets too!!!
in my 40 years as a fan of the NFL, ive never seen another player impact the game like LT. he truly was a man among boys
Andre Tippett was every bit as good as LT. Maybe even better. But, since you don't take the time to look at the statistics, you wouldn't know that.
@@user-sg8kq7ii3y stats are only a part of a player's impact.
@@robduncan2816 Tippett was the anchor of his defense. He was EQUAL to Lawrence Taylor. But Taylor got all the attention for several reasons: 1) He played in New York, which is the media capital of the world. 2) He played for Bill Parcells 3) He played for GREAT Giants teams which had MANY great players on their roster - both on offense and defense. Their defense was known as "The Blue Wrecking Crew", and opponents had to not only worry about LT, but also had to worry about Carl Banks, Leonard Marshall, Jim Burt, Harry Carson, Gary Reasons, Everson Walls, etc.
Tippett NEVER had that kind of talent surrounding him. NEVER, yet he still managed to rival Taylor in inflicting terror on opposing offenses.
It's like Emmitt Smith vs. Barry Sanders. Emmitt played on GREAT Cowboy teams, SURROUNDED by talent, while Barry Sanders played on terrible Detroit teams.
If Barry played for Dallas, he'd be even BETTER than he was. Same for Tippett - had he been on a better team, he would have won way more Superbowls and would have been even more impactful than he was.
GIVE TIPPETT THE CREDIT HE DESERVES!!
Football was so physical and brutal back then.
I still see him jumping up screaming for help when he broke Joe Theisman's leg. One of the most gruesome injuries I've ever seen. He knew immediately it was bad and he was concerned for his fellow competitor. I wasn't a Giants fan but luckily I got to see LT's entire career and he definitely is the greatest in my lifetime. This is even harder to admit because I live in North Carolina and I'm a Duke fan. Damn Tarheels!!! They produced the greatest basketball player Michael Jordan and the greatest football player Lawrence Taylor.
Because, of that we now have roughing the passer calls.. Even if you breathe on a Q.B. .....
But he's the best of friends with Lawrence Taylor though.
MR. COACAIN !!!!!!!
The greatest player I've ever seen. They created plays just to deal with Lt. Never has a defensive player changed the whole game like he did. Him against the lions was insane.
Iâve been a 49ers fan since 1982 & to me Lawrence Taylor is the best defensive player Iâve ever seen. He was a freak of nature, a true one off, the man had it all, size, strength & devastating speed. When he had an opposing QB in his sights he was a runaway train with no brakes. Lawrence Taylor is rightly in the Hall of fame.
Bears fan since '76 and he's my favorite defensive player ever. He also had a kilo of coke in his system.

What an absolute beast. That game against the Saints is mind blowing. Just unreal.

It was incredible. Particularly that 1986 season he was literally UNSTOPPABLE. If you havenât yet, watch his highlights on CZcams. If there wasnât RB Jim Brown, L.T. would be the greatest football player of all-time.
I did 2 x. once in 86 the other in 89. Was an amazing experience
I was fortunate enough to see him once live on his retirement year
I'm I the only one who was fighting back the tears towards the end of the video? Damn
Nope.
I was in first grade when he started playing football and I got to grow up watching his career.
I'm not even a Giants fan
Idk this isnt a tearjerker type video
Madjwills You're not the only one my friend. First Big Bill, then LT & Phil and hell, it was over. From 1979- 1993 the Giants were a team to be reckoned with and for me (and so many others) it was an era that will never be duplicated!! Thank you George Young, thank you!!!
@@michaelbelfer6513 - That's when it was a great time to be a giants fan, unlike the past several years.
Glory days! I cried when I met LT a couple years ago in Las Vegas.
L.T was the first time that I can remember when I was more excited watching the defense over the offense
To this day i have never seen a single player who had so much impact on an entire franchise. I'll always remember how LT could go out there and make one big play and inspire the entire team. One guy who raised the level of everyone he played with. How could you play alongside this guy and not be inspired by his enthusiasm and pure effort.
As a "long-suffering Giant fan" in the 1980s, LT was a breath of fresh air!

Watching LT run amok in the Meadowlands is one of my greatest memories. He was a force of nature.
Definitely the greatest defensive player of all time. No doubt about that. You can't teach what this man was doing. He changed the way the game was played. Love LT, it's awesome to watch these videos and I'll be at the game this weekend against the skins and I'll be wearing my LT 86 jersey with the spider patch on the front from his MVP season and I may add the he's the last defensive player named league MVP.
High quality video of a superior athlete and the best ever at his position, both interview and video perfectly chosen and integrated.
Imagine walking on the field, competing against some of the best athletes in the world, and thinking, man this is easy. That was LT.
if he played in todays NFL he would be charged with murder
And Tom Brady would have retired 10 years ago in fear of LT đ
Barry Love đŻđŻđ„
DRAMAKIN9 I agree lol
And dui
He wouldnt make it in today's NFL. Ricky Williams couldn't make it with marijuana. Taylor's cocaine usage would have been caught immediately. While I think he was a freak, him playing injured was a bit overrates. Cocaine is a pain reliever like no other. You could be on death's bed and still feel like a million bucks.
No shame on LT, as I think he was one of the greatest players of all time and I love seeing his old film.
THE GREATEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF ALL TIMEđđđ
I was so.lucky to be a kid in this era. The NFL was a man's game, we had LT, Carson, Carl Banks, Leonard Marshall, Jim Burt, Bavaro, Phil Simms, Joe Morris. Plus, John Madden & Pat Summerall calling the games, it couldn't be any better, I wish I could go back to the 80s!!
GOAT at linebacker without question.
Brady would be crying just to see LT on the other side...
If Brady and L.T. played each other in their prime Brady would have turf toe or something to get out of playing. He'd be to scared to take the field
He wouldnt cry but it would be an interesting battle cuz brady can get it out quick.

I enjoyed watching him.
As far as what I did with my young life; indeed I made mistakes and hopefully I've learned from them. When I consider your misuse of the word "through" in your comment, I have to wonder if you "threw" away grade school grammar just to become a troll. Eat-a-bag....

âBeing a Giant is pretty good.â - Lawrence Taylor
The greatest defensive player and most unique talent the NFL has ever seen. (The confessed observations of a lifelong Eagles fan). Easily, my most feared opponent-in any sport I follow-ever: a goddamn nightmare...just ask Jaws...or any QB of his era. lol
Lawrence Taylor changed football we are lucky to have gotten to see him play you can't explain to this generation how dominant and important he has been to football you had to see it to believe itđđđ
We always love offenses! But LT made us watch the defense! Watch out for '56!
. . . and he was STONED to the BONE for this interview.

This is a nice tribute to the greatest Giant of all. To me, the great defensive players like LT are the most exciting to watch, more so than offensive players.
Such great memories!! Thank You LT! Still gives me chills watching those teams!
I'm a die hard Cowboys fan and LT will always be my #1 pick in any sort of all-time players list, make believe fantasy team, or anything when it comes to football. He is the greatest football player of all time.
@amitj78 Respect bud! Larry Allen would no doubt be my #2! Even though it doesn't showcase his talent as an O-Lineman, his athletic ability in that tackle during the Saints game is all you need to see regarding him lol. Two all time greats!!

As a Cowboys fan, i thanked God for 2 thungs that LT did...1) take out Joe Theisman 2) retire.

One of the best, if not the best, defensive players of all-time!
Joe Theisman may not remember him so fondly though, but I can understand that :-)

I was 12 the first time I saw LT. It was the end of that Detroit game. Was a baseball guy at the time. I will never forget watching that interception and the sliding spike. He was a one man wrecking crew in that game. Watching him play made me love football.
These teams from the 80's and 90's would literally eat these money-soft pansy's in the NFL today. It wouldn't even be a game.
Cuz grown men was allowed to hit back then nowadays everybody so protective
No they would become pansies as well
Taylor, probably in the top four of dominant North American athletes of all time credits Phil Simms with turning the team around. I wish I wasnât too young to fully appreciate his greatness while he was playing.
Phil Simms was an underrated QB. Once the Giants offense started to gel, it took pressure off the offense as well as forced teams to start throwing the ball more. Which the Giant D ate up. LT with his ears pinned back...well....you can see the videos on CZcams. You kinda felt bad for the opposing QBs(especially an immobile Jaws). I am a lifelong Jet fan and had a chance to watch nearly every Giant and Jet game in the 1980s and 1990s. I can tell you this without even a hesitation, LT was by far the greatest Defensive Player I EVER saw play the game. And, while many NFL experts give the GOAT TAG to Offensive Players such as Tom Brady, it is my opinion that LT is the overall GOAT. As Phil Sims stated as an Analyst, he has been waiting to see the "Next" Lawrence Taylor, but no one has been close. I wonder who Bill Belichek would choose? I am not a Belichek fan, especially since "faxgate", but he is probably the greatest HC of all time...then Bill Walsh...I love Belichek's interviews when he speaks of LT's greatness. I was a jealous Jets fan....now up in years, it was awesome to have had the opportunity to watch LT play...just wish it would have been in Green on Channel 4 instead of Blue on Channel 2.
