Happy Birthday Ollie ❤
👍😀🙏
Hi recently I went for a regular cleaning and was told I needed a deep cleaning but unfortunately couldnt get it done cause my insurance doesn't pay for the deep clean so I brought the Phillips electric toothbrush and it has done wonders for my teeth.
I dont use a toothbrush or toothpaste. I use licorice root sticks
Transparent teeth
i lost it when tzuyu randomly popped up 😭
So I am not a dentist, but I think the most important thing is to always clean your mouth with water or just drink water after you drank a soda or any sugary drink. Also after you eat something sweet. This has saved me so many times. It will stop your teeth from decaying pretty much, or slow down the rate drastically.
what about 0 calorie drinks with artificial sweeteners?
@@bulsye Again, I am not a dentist, but as far as I know most 0-calorie drinks with artificial sweeteners don't contain fermentable sugars, so they don't directly contribute to the acid production by oral bacteria that leads to cavities. However, many of these drinks are acidic in nature as they contain for example phosphoric acid, citric acid, etc.. which can erode tooth enamel, so rinsing, drinking water afterwards should help with that. If you are looking for the safest artificial sweetener, it would be Xylitol as it has a lot of positive effects on teeth, but it can be laxative in high amounts.
alright thanks that's really helpful actually. @@Aldraz
A knowledgeable man knows what he doesn't know. Thank you for the information, I didn't know about xylitol.
@@bulsye Yes, those drinks definitely harm your teeth, they are very acidic and they decompose tooth same way as a sugar, also my dentist recommended me that after every soda drink I should rinse my mouth with water asap, so that advise is on point :) Also there is product like cream/paste that improve your teeth strength, just 1x or 2x a week is enough
I LOVE TZUYU FROM TWICE LMAOOOOO
I just saw them in London two nights ago.
Thanks for the great in depth video! FIGHTING!
Im here because of Chewy from Twice, but it was a very informative video 😅
I love the energy. That was fun to watch, there is so many videos about the same topic but this one definately has the best vibe.
I regret not learning about this sooner. It took things starting to go wrong for me to notice and change my habits.
I'm gonna borrow this video for my patients, almost all of them have bad habits 🤦🏻♀️. Greetings from Mexico! 🇲🇽
"toot pain is one of the worst pain that you could have" - Agreed. Had a few bad ones and once I had to go to the ER, it was unbearable. However, I've sprained my ankle recently and I have to be honest, the pain was in a completely different league. The pain slowly ramped up over the course of a few hours until it reached a point I almost fainted, my vision blackened for a couple seconds.
Yeah, because when you hurt your ankle you hurt multiple things at once (tendons, muscles), while tooth ache (although very painful) is "just" tooth ache.
@@walkelftexasranger nah one time I had a toothache, the muscles in my neck and shoulder were hurting as well, I went nights without sleep. The tooth is now extracted btw
I've until recently neglected my dental hygiene. I've had three molars decay to totally breakage and now need to be pulled. The feeling of your tooth actually dying from infection is by far the worst pain you can have. I'm a guy so maybe period cramps and worse but honestly I doubt it
@@springsteen-games5134 right there with ya bud. I'll be spending thousands this year on my mouth....
@@springsteen-games5134I think you meant “maybe period cramps are worse” and NO LOL as a female I’ve had terrible tooth pain and I’ll say tooth ache is way more painful than cramps
Tooth pain is the only reason I've ever left work in the middle of a shift that didn't involve a family member in the hospital. I got an infected wisdom tooth, and for 3 days the pain from that tooth consumed 100% of my conscious attention. It was either excruciating pain, or waiting for the next wave to hit. I'd occasionally get maybe a 10-20 minute reprieve. After having the tooth extracted, the relief was immense. Tooth pain is absolutely not a joke.
I had the same happen to a tooth, the infection spread to the maxillary sinus, right below the eye. I remember sitting in the dentist’s office, trying to fill out paperwork while looking directly up at the ceiling. Even tilting my head down just slightly would make it feel like my eyeball was going to pop out.
And I’d agree, it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. The only thing that came close was a time where i had an intestinal blockage. That felt like i was getting stabbed repeatedly in the same spot…still wasn’t quite as bad as that tooth. Same with the relief, I hardly noticed the gaping hole in my gums, by comparison that pain literally felt like nothing with a few Tylenol.
Found Dr. Choi's channel through you last month and love her videos so thank you, happy to see you guys collab again! :)
For all you teeth clenching grinders out there, I've always grinded my teeth both in sleep and under the day uncounciously, the only thing that helped me is massaging the sides of my neck from the collarbone up to under the ear, the jawline(get ur thumb/fingers in under the jawline) and the cheeks(get in there, almost under into the cheekbone) for 5-10 minutes before sleep, use a face moisturizer as lubricant to make it easier.
Some spots may hurt a little esp if ur a heavy clencher like me, the goal is to increase bloodflow so it's normal to become a little red at the areas afterwards.
I immediately felt the difference after I did this, instead of having to keep the jaw clenched when keeping my mouth closed the jaw found almost like a natural resting position
On a side note, a combination of B1 and D2 & K3 together has essentially gotten rid of my severe bruxism! Been a godsend
@@lighteningstormwhat brand do you buy?
@@nicolesawyer7117 Ecological Formulas and Dr. Berg both have Allithiamine B1. The are both amazing and work perfectly. The D2 & K3 need to be taken together and it doesn't seem to matter the brand as long as they're together in the same pill. This combination works flawlessly for me, if you decide to try it out figure out the dosage that's right for you! I hope this helps!
Is there a video that demonstrates this? Kinda dumb sorry 😂 but you just massage the sides of your neck and progress behind the ear where the muscle is and not bone. And with the jawline bit you just want to do it where you jaw clenching (around where the jawline angles 90 degrees?)
yep, I always feel anxious before clicking your videos 😅 but I know I need this, and believe me I’ve changed a lot in taking care of my teeth after your videos. Thank youu 👍 lots of love for dr Choi as well ☺️
I recently learned that frequent snacking and drinking liquids other than water can also be damaging in the long-term because your teeth are in the demineralization pH range more often, so you lose more enamel over time!
I'm in my late twenties and this is the first time I have heard how to properly use a toothbrush and not just doing the direct side-to-side motion 🤯
I love the tips and how you guys explain everything, I hate that for most people who do not have dental insurance, it is not affordable
I had to pay 850 dollars for a partial porcelain crown. The work took over an hour to make it a perfect fit so as not to crack the inside over time. Dentistry is a craft, not for everyone!
@@samzzi3oh deff is, and depending on where you go also depends on the price and how well their work is. But that’s with everything health related
It's nice to other dentists talk about this. I'm an RDA, and I've been telling these facts to my patients for years.
I work for a Korean dentist, too 👍
I looove these kind of videos! 🧠
looking forward to new ones!
Такие классные доктор Джон и его сотрудники! Желаю огромной удачи в их деле!👏
Another one worth mentioning is chewing bottle caps! I realised i used to do this when i was stressed but now i do it for fun and comforbility. I'be been told by friends that it is really damaging even though online says its not too bad but you should try to stop.
i love that you made this video. im still learning things about how to take care of my teeth, i wish i learnt all of this in school when i ate lots of sweets. it took way too long to learn even the basics. Im a little worried i cant do the brushing circles you showed since i use an electric brush, but at least the angling.
I like how you explained to brush slow, small circular motions and how many circles per teeth. Not many sites advise this level of detail.
I am super excited to start my dental hygienist route and perhaps pursue further down the line. super excited!!!!!! omg.. LOL thanks for the tips this will help a lot.
I've been waiting so badly for an upload!! Thank you. ❤
I know it's out of topic, but i love when dr. Choi says mm-hmm, but thank you for the reminder doctors 🥰
tzuyu mentioned🔥✨! but fantastic video! all of this advice is easily applicable but bad habits definitely die hard lol. brushing too hard is a consistent issue of mine; i just have to feel like my teeth are squeaky clean after brushing. good side is a get almost zero plaque ever and my dentists love that. but bad news is my enamel has probably suffered a good bit bc i definitely have sensitive spots😭
Worth a mention is biting your nails! A couple years ago I actually managed to chip off a bit of my tooth by nibbling a hangnail. I heard a crack, felt something hard, and behold, there was a piece of my tooth enamel. I remember it well because this happened about an hour before I had to submit an assignment. I don't care if it's only a small piece of nail, or if you think you're just biting the skin, don't bite your fingers. It was a tiny sliver of nail that chipped my tooth, possibly it being small even made the issue worse by concentrating the force. Just don't bite, or risk chipping your teeth like me. I tell everyone around me off when I see them biting these days.
wow that's awful :(
oh yeah, I had recently (well, a year or two ago) heard that as well
I still have trouble believing it because I've always done it from a relatively young age, and quite thoroughly
It also happens pretty subconsciously, or when I'm not really paying attention (head empty)
If I encounter resistance in which ever section of the nail, I work around it and wet it until it becomes more pliable and soft, so I haven't had an issue so far
But I do understand that I probably should avoid these oral tendencies, like nail biting or teeth grinding or biting my tongue
I did get a nightguard pretty recently, but I forget to wear it often-- though I've been doing a better job of wearing it at night lately
Excellent tips on how to improve our oral health! And we hear from 2 gorgeous dentists 😍 Can you please make a video on how to pick a good toothpaste or toothbrush? There's so many products in the store with promises on labels and it's confusing
Today I tested positive for bad breath after having a horrible outbreak, and feel the same way you described in your interview. Listening to you share your overcoming experience gave me the glim of hope I needed to hear. I am glad that there are people like you out there who just want to help other people who are struggling with the same issues. Your words gave me the courage I needed to hear today to know that it's ok. I can still be myself and now I'm enjoying my life the way I am supposed to. it is a blessing i came across you Dr Emovon on CZcams.😘🥰
I am grateful for the advice. Keep up the good work & Happy Holidays! :)
I have bruxism. I used to wear mouth guard but it made me slobber so much i often woke up in the middle of the night with either wet pillow (ew, i know), or dry mouth. Easiest, short term fix for me is loosening up my jaw when I'm about to fall asleep, and let my mouth slightly open. 90% of the time that fixed the problem, though sometimes it failed.
Great bit sized video. Straight to the point and very helpful. Thank you both. I appreciate Dr. John Yoo and his channel.
Great tips. I am 19 and use a night guard from my dentist at night to help with it at night. It does help me grind less during the night and during the day.
i was using toothpaste with whitening formula from a popular brand for a year or two, and recently i got sensitive while consuming something cold (iced / cold fnb), now im using sensitive toothpaste to calm it
The person who never fails to make me happy. I was feeling down and the video came as an anecdote. I am not talking about the content 😂which is informative. Just by looking at that smiling face of my Dr. Cutie I feel happy ❤. Thank you, John. 🤭 Should I call it a connection?because I was genuinely thinking about Yoo today. My heart is full of love for you.
I have had tooth pain before from an infection and it sucked. I was at school when it started and it was so bad I called a cab to take me home cause I couldn't get through the whole school day with the pain. When I got home I put my stuff down and immediately starting looking for pain relief. I applied lidocaine to the tooth and surrounding gums, took a tylenol, did a saltwater rinse and held a ice pack up to my jaw. I also called the dentist and they prescribed me antibiotics which did help along with me avoiding sugery drinks and snacking.
TLDR: Toothpain from an infection made me leave school early and when I got home I took lidocaine, tylenol, did a saltwater rinse and held an ice pack to my face.
In primary school I had more cured tooth than untouched ones. I was in such desperation that I started to overuse toothbrush - with no effects at all. Finally toothpicks saved my life (but I had to split them to be able to use them), dental floss was not able to help me much. This way I went from 2 or more tooths to fix ewery six months - to maybe I have one or two small problems each year.
The ten circles per tooth I’ve never heard of, great tip. 😊
im sry docs im watching this with the tooth pain and crying but i will take all the tips from this video and care and love my teeth plus i learned it the hard way TT
Nice vlog as always ... and dr. Choi .. sarangheo 🩷🧡🫰
Something else that I think a surprisingly large amount of people do (I myself didn't learn about this until I way well over 30), is to rinse your mouth with water after brushing, completely removing any benefits from the fluoride in the toothpaste.
The discussion came up on a forum I frequented and a dentist in the forum was really surprised to hear that several of us posting there was rinsing after brushing, for him it was totally obvious you should just spit out the excess and then leave the rest so that the fluoride can do it's job. For me (and probably the others in the forum with the same habit) though, I just considered toothpaste a "cleaner" in the same way as soap or shampoo that you rinse out when you're done, I never even considered the option of leaving some of it in.
This piece of information is insane. You’ve genuinely given me a complete paradigm shift in my knowledge about toothpaste. Thank you kind person 🫡
Well you got me googling. It does seem to be a legit piece of advice.
I read several websites, but here I quote a little caveat from Healthline:
“-Potential risks of not rinsing after brushing teeth-
It’s generally considered safe for most people to ditch the rinse step after brushing their teeth. However, there some side effects to consider.
Ingesting a large amount of any fluoride dental product is not recommended. Ingesting too much fluoride can result in:
- nausea
- diarrhea
- abdominal pain
However, these side effects are extremely rare when only a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste is used. These side effects also usually only happen when children ingest large amounts of fluoride products meant for adults, or if fluoride products intended for use in the dentist’s office are used inappropriately. It would be very difficult for a healthy adult to achieve any level of fluoride toxicity simply by swallowing a small amount of toothpaste once in a while.
-Fluoride and children-
The American Dental Association now recommends that children under the age of 3 can also use fluoride toothpaste as soon as they get their first tooth. However, a child’s guardian should only smear a rice grain sized amount of fluoridated toothpaste on the toothbrush, and the child should rinse right after brushing.”
I only started doing this like last year. I was always taught you had to rinse, and i feel like thats what all my friends and family around me do too
I am glad to have learned this information at the age of 20, although I actually already knew that the fluoride ions provided by toothpaste should stay there, but it became a habitual thing for me (since I grew up watching ppl around me rinsing after brushing) and also I don't like too much foam inside of my mouth (you can switch to toothpaste with no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, the one mostly responsible for foaming action so switch to a toothpaste with gentler surfactant, and it can really dry your skin in your face if you don't rub them off properly after brushing) so I still rinsed. But once I switched to a non-SLS toothpaste, I no longer rinsed after brushing.
Yeah. The problem is I know this, but I CAN'T stand the mouthfeel of it. It's one of the things that my Autism clocks lol. Rip I guess.
Have you ever heard of teeth "clicking"? Not grinding. Like lightly biting down making a continuous clicking sound? Are there any concerns related to that?
Another thing I noticed most personally is that most people think brushing after eating breakfast is better, rather than brushing right after you wake up in the morning or before eating breakfast!
If you're brushing after eating, its best to wait an hour or so - do not brush right after you ate.
can you explain please why is it bad? ty
@@26195cause while you’re sleeping the mouth builds new bacteria
@@26195 it depends on what you eat/drink. It affects people who consume anything acidic in the morning. For example, yoghurt, juice or sparkling water. As long as you don't consume acidic thing in the morning, then you can brush whenever.
I dated someone who would chomp on big ice chunks constantly throughout the day, and his dad was a DENTIST! I hated the sound, especially since he never chewed with his mouth closed.
Love y’all energy ❤ & the education
Didn’t realize how disastrous tooth grinding really was until it was too late. A couple dentists and my family kept telling me I needed a night guard and I just ignored them since I didn’t have any symptoms or pain. Now my molars are fractured due to bruxism. Get yourself a night guard now! Thank you doctors for this amazing video. You guys rock!
Love it 😊 long time U haven’t up loaded
I have chewed on ice ever since i was a kid. I quit it like 5 years ago I'm 22 now. But the thing that most damaged my teeth was aggressive brushing.
I used to grind my teeth when I was a kid. Started wearing some type of mouthguard over night.
Not only is it bad for your teeth but you can get severe headaches from it too.
You know what Dr. Yoo? The confusing thing about brushing your teeth is that everyone says something else. Like... Even the dentists...
Anyway, beside the bruxism I have never had any severe problems with my teeth so🤷🏻♀️
Hi! Dental student here, there’s different methods of brushing your teeth that’s deemed acceptable good ways of brushing. Some methods might be better suited for people with braces or if they have periodontitis. The one that showed here is I believe the bass method but the main message is to use soft toothbrushes, gentle pressure, and brush in circular motions at a 45 degree angle toward the gum line. Goal is to brush away the bacteria buildup under the gums and without harming your teeth and gums. And floss! Flossing cleans 40-50% of surfaces that toothbrush doesn’t reach (between teeth and under the gum line). Hope this helps :)
Main take away: give and show love to your teeth ❤️

I have a night guard made by my dentist, but I still clench and grind. I don’t feel stressed but my body somehow still does it in my sleep. I cannot control it…😢 however, I have been going to a dentist to get Botox injections in my masseters, and it really helps. With Botox I can’t clench as hard so I don’t get sore jaw any more. I try to space it out, so I go every 6 months. Of course, that means I can’t chew as hard, like baguette, steak or gum. My mouth would get tired, but I’ll take a tired mouth over a sore jaw any day!
Try therapy instead of injections!!! It's better to treat the roor of the problem than try to cover it up
Didn't know how unhealthy it is to chew ice, will work on not doing this! Thank you for the friendly reminder and all the information!💕
You might be anemic if you crave and/ or eat ice
Oh my God i can't stress this enough please take care of your teeth. At 14 i had infected nerves in my teeth the pain was terrible couldn't sleep. Couldn't function properly. Thank God i got a root canal. It definetly taught me about oral hygene
My teeth have definitely gone through some wear and tear, especially from university. I used to wake up in the middle of the night after catching myself grinding my teeth and clenching my jaw tightly. It was from stress and anxiety. I have 2 cracked teeth and a sharp back tooth. I think the most important thing is “clean teeth do not get cavities”. If you eat 8-10 times of day - maybe you need to brush three times. Depending on your diet. I did not think about this at an earlier age. I wish I had 😢😊
Clean teeth absolutely can get cavities. There are dozens upon dozens of conditions that can weaken enamel, and over-brushing can weaken enamel even further and lead to more cavities in the long run.
Tell me you know nothing about dentistry without telling me you know nothing about dentistry.
@@xionmemoria sorry. I should have said NORMAL clean teeth don’t get cavities. I didn’t try to sound clever. Just personal experience. Have nice day and thanks for correcting me 🙏

I'm so curious how long the process was to get your hair that blond? It's really cool.
Yeah, let's go Tzuyu❤❤
u guys have great chemistry
Dr Yoo thank you so much for your informative videos and funny shorts :)
I have a question, should we clean our teeth before eating breakfast in the morning or after ?
I heard that if we didn’t brush our teeth before eating, we would ingest the bacteria that slept in our little mouth during the night which seems gross… and it seems a bit dirty to eat breakfast and not wash again the teeth. So I would do it like twice, one before and one after eating, but I guess it could be harmful to the teeth... 🤔
Can I have your opinion on it please ? 😊
Have a great day !
You can either brush your teeth when you wake up before food (though it's best to wait 30min after brushing and then eat) and just do a quick swish with water or if you can, wait till 30min after food to brush. In terms of the bacteria, it's not going to be any different to the bacteria during the day in your mouth and doesn't make any difference so don't worry about that aspect.
HI a great and informative video! do you recommend any other Electric toothbrushes the one you featured i do not think is available in Canada? Thanks
Ok, thankyou. ❤
~~Good looking dentist combo 😍
I have some questions about wisdom teeth…Do I must get wisdom teeth removal even the teeth doesn’t hurt me or just ignore it?
I have heard rumors that certain narcotics can encourage a person to grind their teeth. I was watching a documentary about people who do drugs frequently going to raves.
Many of the dancers were wearing over the counter nightguards on a ribbon as a necklace. Those who wanted to be flashy wore seven nightguards on the ribbon.
do you suggest brushing before or after eating in the morning ^^?
The part where he says “this is the way you brush your teeth” had me dead💀(also Dr.John Yoo is a rizz lord) 5:35
But like how many times or only when can I use whitening for my teeth?
I've had a very bad situation with my tooth. I talk it about to the adults of my family when i was 14 but they completely ignored it and say it will just eventually ✌️go away on its own✌️ i even beg to them to go to dentist for my birthday and Christmas gift but they still ignore it. I begged to them one last time to give me the oral need of my teeth as a graduation gift, they still turn it down. Now my face is so uncemetrical and I'm loosing my teeth slowly i still cry about it cuz i can't help it cuz I'm just 17 and can't go find a job and earn money to treat my teeth. On my country u need to be atleast 18 to be able to go find a job.

Oh my god, this is child neglect please talk about it to a teacher maybe they'll help you
I tried out the brushing method from this video and immediately flossing became 3x easier.
lol thanks!!!
i love the twice reference ❤ my favourite is dahyun though
I have yellow stains on my front 4 teeth, they appeared along with my permanent teeth and main reason for that is the bad quality of water we use, excess amount of fluoride...but how I get rid of them now ,I consulted a few dentists and they said no permanent treatment, and if I go for bleaching that will damage my teeth ..so what do I do
tysm for the video :)!
two more questions please🙏: can gum recession be reversed, and what treatment options are out there?
Gum recession can't be reversed. I have this problem too and asked my dentist. The best thing we can do is to keep on top of our oral hygiene.
I’ve clenched and ground my teeth so much my whole life and now, at age 35, I have horrible teeth that hurt all the time.
wow.excellent. recommendation
Thankkkk youu❤❤❤❤
Hi! So I have been working on my dental higiene and I feel like I’ve been doing pretty well. I noticed in the video you mentioned over-whitening or whitening wrong so I have a question…is whitening toothpaste okay or should I switch? I mainly use it because I’m picky about taste since I don’t like mint but most toothpaste is minty fresh flavors. If whitening toothpaste is not a good option, do you have a recommendation for something else? Thank you in advance!
Whitening toothpastes are usually more abrasive, so not great for long-term use. You can try a kids toothpaste with a normal amount of fluoride (1,000 ppm or 0.15% w/v Fluoride Ion). The first percentage under the drug facts can vary depending on what kind of fluoride compound it is, but the w/v (weight/volume) percentage should standardize things.
From what I've gathered, whitening toothpaste doesn't actually do anything. Things like whitening strips actually work because they're sitting on your teeth long enough for the hydrogen peroxide to actually get into the teeth to whiten them. With the toothpaste, it's only being left on for... A few minutes at most. (Also worth mentioning, in case anyone reading this does this, but... DON'T use charcoal on your teeth! All it does is scrub away the top layer of enamel.)
Thank you ❤
The video was very helpful.
One of my concerns is that my child grinds his teeth when he sleeps.ㅜㅜ
I think I'm gonna need some assistance.
And I break the ice and eat it
Can you use electric toothbrush on gums.? Same brush for teeth.
I have anemia and there was a few months where I would just get a cup of ice and eat it. Crushed so it's not as bad but yeah, it's a real craving. I no longer do that
Great video guys! Nix the flared bristles 😂
good catch . i gotta go easy on brushing tooth dragon. might become toothless
and then you’ll raise a question, Vera, How do you know that if you were asleep? well I got severe teeth damage done to my teeth and I don’t grind my teeth awake because I know that, when I’m asleep it is only option left.😢
How do you know if you're grinding your teeth in your sleep?
Hello,
Great video. You mentioned brushing too much can be harmful. I am obsessed with brushing and flossing every time I eat. (Before breakfast, after breakfast, lunch and dinner. And if I eat in between lunch and dinner as well.) I don’t like having the taste of food after I eat. Am I in a bad situation?
Hi , in another video they explained that it is best to wait 30 minutes after eating to brush because food causes ph in-balance and weakens enamel. After waiting, you can also use mouthwash to help balance out your ph so you get less enamel damage. Brushing too much can wear out your enamel and cause damage to your teeth. I am sure you can find more specific answer to this in their other videos.
Not a dentist, but maybe try using mouthwash or chewing gum (sugar free) after eating instead of brushing every time you eat. That should help with the food taste.
Great video. Plus, look up Suri toothbrush
What do you think about chewing gum? I always assumed it’s fine because it’s approved for cleaning in between meals by the British dental association but I do notice that after a day of chewing my teeth have sometimes moved a bit or are looser than usual. Basically is gum a serious risk or is it fine to chew daily? Your videos are super informative and taught me the proper way to floss so thank you very much!!!
I read that you shouldn't chew for more than 15 min or it can increase your risk for TMJ. Always make sure it is sugar-free gum, and xylitol is better than sorbitol.
@@BGing_Foodie yes always sugar free! Will look into the sorbitol/xylitol thing. What is TMJ? thanks for ur advice
@@085cur1ty TMJ is short for temporomandibular joint disorder aka TMD
If you're a girl please don't chew gum. It widens your jaw (not in a good way)and the only way to get rid of it is plastic surgery. If you have bad breath get a tongue scraper. Stop chewing gum before it's too late. Especially not every day it will build up irreversibably. For me I've been having depressed and suicidal thoughts as a result and am constantly teased. Don't chew gum!!! And the TMJ (jaw because massester muscles are overworked). People aren't supposed to chew gum
@@ohohpelia2166 that is very alarmist. I’d like to build my jaw a bit, that’s why I started also as snack replacement. appreciate your concern though! I’ve stopped chewing for hours and hours every day anyway
Worst thing is brushing teeth with toothpaste they are mostly abrasive. Im using water and after that I use a toothpaste just put it on the teeths cause toothpaste have fluorid to remineralize enamel.
Now I don't grind my teeth but I do clench my jaw often. Would that have a negative effect on my teeth?
I love when your videos come to my feed!! They're all so interesting and helpful. Also Dr. Choi is so funny and a great special guest!
8:40 When I had a deep cavity in my molar I couldnt even sleep for 2 weeks I kept waking up crying in the middle of the night it was so terrible I couldnt eat anything I was wishing to see the grim reaper at a certain point just to get rid of the pain 😭 It definetly ranks #2 for most painful thing I have experienced, #1 was my first period I swear I dont even know if that one is beatable I sure hope not 😭
What sucks is that the dentist had warned about it years ago needing a filling but I was a really anxious kid so it wasnt filled that day (though if they wouldve just taken the time to explain that a filling only takes like 10 minutes, all the steps and that it doesnt even hurt instead of having a trashy attitude towards a child I probably wouldve been less scared and done it.) plus my parents just never properly took care of my health as well as many other aspects of my life so it just got worse because it never occured to me that no, its not normal for a tooth to just simple grow with a hole in it and that it was a cavity. By the time I did realize, it was pretty bad but still months before I would experience the tremendous pain I went through, however they wouldnt listen to me begging for months to go to the dentist because it wasnt "hurting" enough and it costs money (They could very well afford it though). Despite trying my best to tell them it will only be worse the longer they wait and It'll causs a world of pain for me every word that came out of my mouth landed on deaf ears. And guess who still got yelled at because of how much it cost and the time the procedure took although it was a result of their negligence in the 1st place? Me.
No suprise though because they do this with everything, they ignore everything I say for no apparent reason (I GENUINELY did nothing for them to think every word that comes out my mouth is false or unimportant) and then when it becomes an issue they wanna be all *suprised pickachu face*. It enrages me to the ends of the universe and I just wanna curl into a ball and combust into flames
*sigh* :)
Hi, my 5yr old is grinding his teeth, though not daily. How can i break this habit please? Cant afford the customized guard 🙏
The thing is, my dentist also told me to get a custom night guard, but my insurance doesn't cover it. I would have to pay about $700, that's just ridiculous. So I'll just have to buy one over the counter.
I heard Dennis say to not do circles ugh I was right but then I started brushing straight now my right sid upper set of gums are receded a little bit
Yeah for real I feel like I'm a mess because some of the things you're saying is what I do and I didn't know this whole time when you guys say it I'm like... Oh my God how many things have I damaged in my tooth that I kept doing it like for a fact sometimes I chew ice and I don't know what damage is causing to the tooth
This was a great friendly reminder to floss daily. Long story short, I have not had the spare money OR insurance, so I haven’t been to a dentist in maybe, 5 years?
I brush daily before work thoroughly, but I will admit I have had a bad habit lately of not brushing before bed. I really wanna try to meet twice a day and shoot for flossing before bed. I’m thankful my diet is well, I don’t chew ice, drink any sort of caffeine. I rarely have crunchy foods or snacks. Nor do I brush too hard.
But, I’d still like to make time and money to visit a dentist sometime. I’d like to keep enjoying my smile for a good while :)
I used to take naps and when i woke up my jaw felt relaxed and loose and it felt good, but apparently that is bruxism? Is it true?
Is there any treatment for gum recession ?
should you brush down on the gum line upper teeth and up on the bottom teeth from the gum line ? to prevent gum damage .
Custom made bruxism guards are so expensive for me i bite through them too often, as my bruxism is bad.
So, the tooth-danger food list looks a bit like a list of my favorite foods, but yeah, I can see how all of them would be hard on my teeth.
