    Hey just a reminder if you pull the fuse for the VDC the transfer clutch remains open so you are fWD.

    • @uberdang830
      @uberdang830 Před 3 lety

      You can drift the car with out pulling the VDC fuse it just takes getting to know what the car is looking for. The VDC I've learned dose allow for quite an aggressive slip angle. The trick is to limit your counter steer and your input steering. Of course you can only do this in low traction conditions because well the car is week. So I've learned that a little dab of left foot breaking will help rotate the car on turn in once you get the car to rotate in word you can over power all 4 wheels causing a 4 wheel drift with a close to or at a zero counter steer. You can even achieve this with the traction control on. Mind you if you are in the snow this dose take a relatively high rate of speed to achieve because what you are trying to achieve is to get all the wheels to spin at the same speed and the VDC will not try to counter the drift until you counter steer. I think the logic of the VDC was specific programed this way to try and midagate under steer. Maybe next time it snow I'll make a video on how I learned this and also how you can transition as well. But far warning because the car is under powered you need a higher entry speed. So practice where you have a lot of space. Then you can show off your skills on the clover leafs.

    • @brian0010
      @brian0010  Před 9 lety

      KTMcaptain If you don't wait for the gauges the motor will crake over a bunch before it starts.

      @SteedDigital1 Před 8 lety +1

      +rotaxrider about the consumption issue? Yeah those are the effected models right now. Haven't heard anything with newer models yet and tbh this is rare or it would have made a bigger dent in their sales and Subaru would have had a lot more of short blocks to change out. If you have one just keep an eye on your oil levels between changes to make sure its not consuming a load of oil. I think Subaru only does something for it if you're losing 1quart every 1500 miles.

    • @heatherm8261
      @heatherm8261 Před 6 lety

      The initial break-in period does eat a bit of oil. Between each oil change you will likely notice a slight difference in the amount of oil that comes out of your car vs. the amount you put into your car. That is why they are called 6 Star Oil Eaters!

    Subaru has not had the best crankcase breather design. However it is adequate 4 normal driving. If you are going to drive the car hard for long periods of time my suggestion is to get a oil air separator. Some recycle the oil back into the crankcase and some you have to drain the ones that recycle oil back into the crankcase Aid in decreasing oil consumption. Also driving the cars at a high load at low RPM damage the Rings especially the boosted cars like the WRX or the STI. also remember the cars are not race cars they're meant to go fast every now and again but they're not meant to be driven fast all the time. Unless you want to make the adequate modifications.

    • @yarpos
      @yarpos Před 6 lety

      because there are a lot of tossers that think they can out engineer the manufacturers on everyday road cars , sit around on the hoods of their cars with their arms folded pontificating about "drivers cars" and beleive they have mad driving skillz. A small number may actually be OK drivers, but mostly they are the reason insurance premiums are the way they are.

    • @cf2851
      @cf2851 Před 5 lety +4

      Because all of these "driving aids" don't actually make the car perform better, they just make it easier to drive. Traction control does not increase traction, it cuts engine power. ABS doesn't make the you stop faster, it cuts braking force to stop the tires from locking. Stability control doesn't increase stabilty, it makes the car point straight.
      For people who enjoy driving these things are all a nuisance. If that's not what you want leave it as is.
