Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3jrO2iS
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2SwrYsB
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl

Everyone welcome the chilled out security guard to the channel. Hes watching
Hey welcome super awesome security guard
If your watching Mr security Guard Welcome to the channel, you were sweet, thanks for being kind to our "Thub" he's a good guy !! and enjoy the videos !
Seth = Mall cop!
Hi chilled out security guard!
Most of them are chill.
Thumbs up to the security guard for being so chill. But also thumbs up to you for being cooperative and chill back. A lot of people would have given that security guard a hard time despite him being chill just doing his job
the security guy seemed pretty chill. thumbs up
I admire your calm and mature demeanor in the face of a potentially contentious encounter. Also the fact that you didn't stop doing what you were doing just because Security arrived, which helps support the position that you weren't doing anything wrong. I suspect you've had dozens of similar encounters with homeowners, security personnel, and the neighborhood busybody. Thanks for the good example!
Well said, we shouldn’t have to hide or slink around
It’s definitely come up plenty of times before! I’m just confident if anyone has any concerns they’ll make it pretty clear
I sometimes forage as a hobby. Its like scraping the weeds. I have had many encounters including at the police station which happened to have service berries, hack berries, nanny berries(whih ripen at different times but still astounding to have 3 edibles there). . Those always went well. In another case, which was a good spot for wild grapes (which makes a very drinkable wine) I was chased off last year. My favorite one must be the cornelian cherry at some apartment complex. . They are ripe when on the ground . The way I process is sterilizing anyway ( compote, wine , jam, syrup), but as I was picking them some woman in a car asked my if I was OK , and when I responded she followed with "Are you sure".
I knew about scraping long time ago when I was a construction laborer. When I found a 3 foot long heavy gauge copper cable while foraging , well I realized now have two fields of opportunity.
Pickin’ scrap and potentially picking up new subscribers along the way. The security guard, like any person who comes across your channel, has to enjoy your videos.
He just might! That would be pretty cool haha
He probably turned into a scraper lol
Thub and the guard handled the situation perfectly. Great job by all. Great finds too.
wish all security guards were as chilled as that one. Welcome if your watching
All those wheel casters caught my eye. At $5 - $10 each, they are worth grabbing.
I thought the security guard was cool about it all.. but I did think you were pretty cheeky still loading all the wire while he was sussing you out! Hahaha 🤣
I honestly didn’t even think of that 😂 one track mind I suppose!
Well you do what you have to do i guess i mean the security guard pretty much didn't care.
That’s the conundrum: if you don’t get something when you see it in the dumpster, the next day it’s either buried or gone.😕
Nice load anyways!👍
Yup, gotta be ready at all times pretty much!
Always good when folks are not confrontational.
Yes Mr Security "Leave It Better Than You Found It" is the moto of this station. Such a good example to us all.
Invite him to return at will
Aww! 💙
Thumb's up to the security guy! Great job if you see this buddy!
After watching your videos the security guard probably jacked his job in and is now a scrapper too 😂
Welcome chilled out security guard
That dumpster would have been a resaler's dream. Those retail fixtures would have been worth far more than scrape values.
lol... which you mentioned about 30 seconds after commenting
A poster below mentioned the casters.
You could build something out of them or sell them.
Use them for the shelves you want at home..
I had been avoiding this video for a while because I'm super anxious about conflict, I'm so glad he was nice!
That first dumpster certainly had "steel is the meal" written all over it.
Really can’t ignore a heap like that!
I’ll be saving a lot of bolts and screws at work especially after removing termite boxed
That first dumpster is a gold vain. I'm old school and would want to empty the whole thing. But that is how my yard got so cluttered. I have ran across some pretty angry security in my dumpster days. This guy had questions and interest in what you were doing. It is much better than some I have dealt with.
Take the boxes and empty them later!! OMG 🤯
Albuquerque NM USA impressive finesse with security. Down these parts it's unheard of to leave an encounter with security on any positive note.
Well I think it had more to do with his compassion than anything 😅
505 boys!!!! Left the land of entrapment 2007!
Thank you .my name Rob ,As a father of 3 children, you inspire me,thank you, keep doing the thing and making these a vids.....
Hi my name is Rob Hobbs. IM FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE. I just want to tell you ,Your one of the nicest humble scrapper
I HAVE WATCHED ON UTUBE.MIKE THE SCAVENGER, THAN YOU.But your in that 1 spot now my friend 😀.Keep making these awesome videos....
Keep doing the thing 👌 your friend scrapper for as long as there is metals.....Rob hobbs
Those caster wheels are valuable also.
You are the coolest, Thub.
What a nice guard
Could’ve been a lot worse!
I am on the edge of my seat at 5:39.....waiting for the fuzz to show up....Never have like authority figures....the positions always seem to attract individuals with a propensity to bully people....
Oh I hear ya there. When a position of power is the main appeal you’ll get a certain type of individual applying
This is why you attack under the cover of darkness!! Smoke bombs that you toss down and instantly produce a massive amount of thick smoke are handy too.
Love you little helper...cute
I sure wish Thubprint would have a visit to my dumpster as it is often filled with metal scrap items
Prepared steel versus unprepared steel is graded based on dimensions. Prepared Steel is 3‘ x 4’; anything over that is unprepared, but no sheet steel.
Keep at it buds. Always like seeing local.
Wow nicely done and what a great guy who came up to u while you were digging phew nice guy decent pay xx uk fan
Respect 😊
The security guard was surprisingly chilled he pretty much didn't care he was just curious to what Thub was doing.
It is so nice to watch and learn from you. Where i life its a little different but thanks so much for al the tipps and tricks. Cheers and greetings from Berlin Germany
Well that was one friendly security guy , also nice bin
Great bins! And yes, he was pretty chill about the whole thing. Really grateful for that!
3:08 Brother... I tell ya, I've made some really mean "friends". I'm only 4 months into this awesome hobby. But I've got to get some magnetic door signs and maybe a roof cap saying "Recycle" or "SCRAP" . Most people think its weird to dumpster dive. I did too. But shit! It's a rush! Seeing all the free money people JUST THROW AWAY! I'm all about that scrap life now. And I'm one happy Panda. Love your content bro. Thanks for all the tips. Keep it up. CHEERS!
Grab the heavy casters off those carts, that’s probably $60.00-100.00 Or more if you bought them, they are handy to use on projects also.
Man I'm with you that guy was way to nice.
Right? Sorta gave me some kinda grinning viper energy, I don’t trust it
You could sell a lot of that wood....
People, org., school shops, etc.
Good video as always. Thanks.
If there’s anything I learned from watching Mike The Scavenger, it’s that you need to pull up confident, move fast, and most importantly - *you’re gonna need a box.*
Solid diving tips from one of the best in the biz 😁
The security guy was a good person. I've done that job and sometimes it's nice just to see another human being. He probably just wanted to talk.
It did kinda feel like he was just interested in what was going on!
You have to treat a dumpster find like a second hand store, get it when you see it. It might be gone when you look again.
Nice haul, and nice security guy. Nice going and have a nice day!
Diplomacy is always a good tactic. I'm sure the security guard has had prior interactions with people that were less than friendly. You made his day easier too,
In all the decades I've been dumpster diving, I've only ever been hassled once. It was a Salvation Army donation center. The building was in a fenced lot, so you could only check the dumpster when they were open. The dumpster was kinda close to the back door. I suspected the staff were probably stashing things they wanted to keep in the dumpster. One of the staff members caught me there. I gave them shit for tossing e-waste into a dumpster that would end up as landfill waste. That didn't deter me from poking around there in the future. I would just do a quick hit and run on my bike, and get out of there before anyone noticed!
I always find it so satisfying when you fire wires !!
Always good when security is cool.. Everytime I get stopped they think I'm illegal dumping.then I'm like I do a CZcams channel lol . Stay safe dude!
Good scrap channel anyone in the twin cities i recomend cruising dinky town all the college parties lead to remodels every year to keep tjings looking good so there 20 pkus dumpsters this size in a 3 block radius ive had alot pf sucess there
Hey Mr Security Guard guy don't forget to subscribe and hit that bell!!😘
😂💙
Really enjoying watching videos I’m too a scrapper and some reason u make scrapping more fun thanks again
Out of all the videos I've seen about a hundred and never seen one security incident. It looks like a first time event in years for you.
I think that’s why people usually go at night 😂
Maybe I was right about being too noisy
Definitely why I go out at night.
Bro kudos to you and becoming cool with the law hell yeah. I live in New Orleans and my friend David been in law in law enforcement for twenty something years from New Orleans PD and fire department now EMT. He tells me when he was in the police department and on the job and off the job he’ll pick up a bullet like it’s a lucky penny. And he’s a good gun range cleaner lol
Just found your channel and thoroughly enjoyed your discussions on everything....love that you took your daughter with you and how you interacted with the security guy. (You need to get some business cards!)
Well thank you for saying hi!
Those cart casters are a buck each.
Good day my man!!! Security seemed cool.
Seemed cool enough!
good haul; puzzled why when approaching a large chunk of cast iron you approach it with a carpenters hammer (you aren't alone). Get a decent size lump hammer good things happen then!!
Love the vid man!! I hear that sometimes you hit the dumpster at just the right time!!
😁 you got it!
That security guard was a tool. Acts like he’s guarding the pentagon
I would be the guy you see running down the street with my ill gotten gains that somebody else just threw up and out from way down deep in the dumpster😂😂😂 (hopefully not for your sake) but im just waiting to catch that in a video✌️happy hunting
Love it brother☺
I have had security guards walk up to me while I was in the dumpster and just keep walking never have they asked me anything
Nice Dive
What do you when you have a very nice high end appliance That is too expensive to fix but you just don’t have the heart to scrap it out
I'm fresh out of comments, but here's a little sump'n for the algorithm.
cant wait til i can get a truck of my own after watching you dumpster mike, and scrap n pallet man.
A truck makes a huge difference! There’s a Brit who goes by vandal vlogs with a sweet setup in a van too, he’s got a toolbox on the wall and it’s basically a mobile shop space as well as scrap hauler. I’m a bit envious of how self-contained his system is tbh, so that could be a good way to go as well
@@thubprint true i just like the idea of an open top storage cuz you can stack up and over the side rails some whilst still being safe plus trucks handle a lot more weight.
Definitely get an open bed truck, IMHO. I am working out of a 4Runner and it is quite limiting. Plus, you hear every squeak and rattle, plus you possibly introduce bugs into your cabin.
it was only a matter of time they catch us all some are nice others not so nice.
Nice score with all the metals! :D
Honestly worked out great 😊
I'm glad it seemed to go good.
Good job Thub , always nice to see Wub too !!
Onwards and upwards Rodders , onwards and upwards .
Man I so enjoy watching these! I generally only get to recycle pop cans, but even so it's fun!
It’s pretty cool to see what other people can find!
Very cool how you dealt with that, god knows I've been kicked out of places lol
My view treat others as you would be expected to be treated yourself. Are you doing anything wrong. I don’t think you are. Mr security appeared to have the same feeling. Good on you both.
Nice job Thub. Security was probably just checking you weren't dumping stuff.
Oh, true! I can totally see why that would be a major issue
Nice useful casters on those mdf trolleys, getting harder to find these days.
Are they? Didn’t realize they would ever be hard to find
Another great video. Keep them coming.
You got it!
Least you found a cool security guard. I found the complete opposite yesterday.
Oof. Yeah lots of them couldn’t care less abt the other side of the story
just got back from finding tons of scrap metal. found lots of ppl doing same. is fun
It’s lots of fun!
Remember that guy with the truck that got your car towed
How could I forget 😆
that's why you should take the truck while its empty and use their scale to get your weight and next time you go you'll have a base line to compare your empty weight to your full weight so you can figure out how much your averaging
Not to bad for a load
I wonder what the hourly rate would be for separating those bullets.... Would have to be worth the effort, I would imagine
He seemed nice, let's hope he IS nice (and now also a new subscriber). 👍
There's always using the snap tool pallet man uses
Snap tool? I have a lot of catching up to do on his vids
Those wooden crate boxes that have the handles cut out go for $10-$25 a pop to crafters online
YOU COULD HAVE SOLD THE CARTS FOR MORE THEN THE LITTEL SCARP WOULD BE FOR THEM
Yup.. I thought about that after the fact as well!
Williams Lake, BC!
Awesome video. Keep em comin thub
You got it!
Enjoy us rare nice security guard's, that guy gives us guards a good name.
He was a gem!
Guard was really cool tho, I've dealt with some "not so cool" ones in my time
Just a little too close to the back truck window … my biggest fear about jumping into a dumpster is that someone will come by and give me grief … or worse call the police. Glad mr. security guard was chill.
It could have gone any number of ways, I’m glad he chose peace! And absolutely, I need to be more careful of that window. At least the minor guard I put in did it’s job!
Hate using the big big big scale 😏
next time you see range lead at the yard see about buying it smelt and separate and sell
Those casters!
Haha you have the voice of an office guy lol. Watch mike the scavenger her the man for scrap
So much stuff in there clean it out man
Nice security guy
He was pretty decent about the whole thing!
Dont leave the aluminum behind . Valuable
Definitely too much stuff on stairs
Such a shame! Probably would have been worth the effort in the end, but it would be a whole operation taking the whole bin apart and putting it back together
