- Step by step tutorial for New Look 6736 View A.
Yardage: approximately 3 yards
Suggested fabrics: silk blends, linen blends and gauze. My fabric is a rayon challis from my stash.
I cut a size 12 for View A and did not alter the pattern for height etc.
I originally wore this pattern on my honeymoon. Many of you asked for a sew along for this pattern, so I decided to make another one just for the tutorial.

Thanks for the tutorial/sew along. This should make it quicker & easier when I make mine.
You’re welcome 😊 You can do it!
The fabric goes great with this pattern. Thank you for another great tutorial.
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the tutorial. It made things clear to me.
I'm so glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for doing a sew along for New Look 6736, currently, I am making this pattern.
Your sew along is well needed. The struggle was real for me 😂😂😂😂.
You are so welcome! Glad that I was able to help.
❤can you please do a step by step on new look 6733 pattern? Please
❤❤❤ it. Thanks great instruction and techniques.
Thank you Lucy! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you SO much !!!
Glad it helped!
Thank you - for a fabric that frey, for pants, should I serge before stitching or after? . The pattern states to press seams open, so probably serge each raw edge before starting sewing. If I serge after stitching, seams would have to be serged together. Just want to make sure. Pieces have been cut and waiting.
@@ejan9578 hey! You probably want to serge your seams before sewing just to be on the safe side!
@@RavenMaureen Thank you so much for your quick response to my question! Appreciate it, I just watched your other tutorial, and I must say that you are so clear in explaining and guiding through the steps. It is a big help and saves my time.
Great tutorial. I would love to make the top View B. My bust is a 40. What size should I cut? Can you please help me? I'm thinking a size 6. Normally I wear a size 16 in Big 4 patterns so I'm very confused. It looks like the top has a lot of ease but a bra bust too. I appreciate any help. Thank you!
Hi Grace! I cut a 12 and my bust ranges around 42-43 inches and I felt like I had room because of the elastic. I hope this helps.
@@RavenMaureen Thanks so much for your help Raveen! Love all your makes. Always gorgeous. 💖
I made it today View C with your help !!! Thank you again. What top are you wearing in the video? I love the green/white fabric. Now I'm going to make the pants. 🥰
I meant to say View B the shorter top! Thank you!!
@ravenmaureen I am hoping to make just view A, to wear as a dress, for a spring Ren Faire (think summer-y hand maiden). I too am confused by all the ease. I am usually a 20 (43 1/2" bust) in standard patterns but according to finished garment measurements that would be like a tent on me. I want to make sure I make it big enough to stay closed in the front but small enough that it is somewhat flattering. I welcome any advice.
Hi - it sounds like we have similar bust sizes. I cut a size 12 for this and it fit perfectly. I don’t recommend just wearing this as a dress. You’ll need pants or shorts on the bottom because of the opening. Hope this helps
@@RavenMaureen thank you so much!
Hi Raven, gorgeous as always, do you have to wear something under it like shorts, or can it be worn as a dress or does it fly open? Thanks xxx
Hi! You will absolutely need something on the bottom unless your intent is that you wear it as a swimsuit coverup
Is seam allowance already in pattern or have to put it myself?
The seam allowance is included
Raven, I lost piece number four and have not made this because of that, could you tell me the length for the elastic size 18?
Hi Sandy - just took the piece out of the envelope and checked the length. It's 19 inches. I hope this helps.
