Very talented man and as John said he got more material every time he went to Cork city in Ireland just by going into the local pubs his father frequented before emigrating to London …Johns death was a huge loss to English comedy but to everyone who enjoys a good laugh, John said his humour came from his fathers constant taking the piss out if himself and his friends something we like to do in Ireland…

Oh but they did. Many, many times. Especially when it was about something Roger would say. He'd keep calm as a cucumber while saying things, and they would burst into laughter. They had to do a lot of reshoots of scenes because of it. The cast members talked about it in a documentary on the making of Only Fools and Horses.

Absolute comedy genius! From the script writers all the way to the acting, including the direction, film making and even the choice of each set, Only Fools has had tears run down my face for decades and it still does! The world lost a brilliant actor when Trigger left us!

Missed my 2 favourite moments. The one where Rodney is playing a bit of Classical music. Trigger says it's the Karaoke version. Where Rodney confronts Trigger about why does he call him Dave at a town planning meeting.
In Heroes and Villains when Del and Rodney charge into what they think is a fancy dress party dressed as Batman and Robin. Turns out the host had died and it was now his wake! Trigger 'I didn't know either, look I've come dressed as a chauffeur' points to dark suit and black tie 'I feel like a right wally'
