PROS AND CONS - CRIB MATTRESS FOR DOG BED

There seems to be quite a bit of hype over using a crib mattress as a dog bed. So, I decided to do a deep dive into this theory and research the pros and cons of using a crib mattress for your dog. Here are the items referenced in my video:

I like the idea of being able to whip off the fitted sheets of a crib mattress really quickly to wash them. Plus, to replace torn sheets is a lot cheaper than a torn pet bed cover. Then, I can just wipe off the mattress itself very easily with a disinfectant wipe or the like.
I hadn't considered them tearing through the mattress with their claws. Maybe, a cheap mattress pad would help with that, but then costs start going up when all these extras are added.

One thing about a foam bed that has to be considered is that if your dog nests (like hounds) they will tear the mattress. You’d have to get a quality cover to prevent this or a thick blanket or comforter so that he is moving the covers around rather than the mattress. Either way it can be expensive
