@@grrrr01 There are horse sports (like racing and harness) and equestrian sports (like dressage, show jumping, ect.) These two aren't the same but both are part of equestrianism.

All I'd say is just be careful there is alot more to the industry than meets the eye
It honestly depends on everything! For some races they abuse, drug, and sometimes they don’t let the horses out of their stall so they have more energy. While in some other races the horses are treated like royalty

Okay, I’m just going to ask for some opinions really quickly. So, I have this horse that I *really* love. He is absolutely perfect for me, not too difficult but not really too easy either. He is a stallion, therefore I cannot ride him in a show. The classes that I would normally go to have other horses, mares and geldings. My mother doesn’t want me to start leasing him because he is a stallion and I can’t ride him in shows. But the thing is, I don’t really like doing shows. I have bad anxiety, so it often gets me very nervous and I really don’t enjoy it. In my mother’s perspective, shows are the only thing I’m working towards and that’s just why I do lessons, so I can get better for shows. For me, shows are just an opportunity to show off what I have learned and have others see how well I am doing. He is my love and I don’t know what to do. Please lmk if you have anything that could help me
I’m sure you’ve done this already, but have you had your mom sit down and explained to her that shows aren’t the most important thing to you. I love riding and shows can be fun, but what I really love are the horses. Riding can help you learn responsibility, how to work hard, and how to not give up. If this is your heart horse, fight for him with all you can. If your mom is hung up on him being a stallion, find research that can prove not all stallions are dangerous and that riding is a dangerous sport in the first place. I truly hope you find a way to make it work and wish you the best.
@@jumpingjellybean4672 I tried but she said if I don’t do shows then what’s the point of even doing horseback riding. this stallion is honestly one of the sweetest horses and all of the trainers can agree with me. he is extremely well trained and I’ve had a lot of younger kids get *close* to his but and he never kicked them or bucked or anything. thank you for the advice I really appreciate it. It means that they have accepted the contact and have relaxed into it, their saliva basically shows their acceptance of the bit.
