Nicely explained -- and we all learn from 'mistakes'. :-) My code zero has the 'anti-torsion' cable embedded in the luff of the sail -- and this makes it very, very easy to furl and unfurl. My 'Gennak' (or asym spinnaker) is much larger than the code zero (as you explained), and the anti-torsion cable is not embedded in the luff. This makes the sail much more difficult/challenging to furl after use. I'm getting better at it (having used it about 50 times now), but still struggle with it (single-handed). Previously, I always used a 'sock/chaussette', which was quite easy to rig/use, but I didn't like having that big piece of plastic floating at the top of the mast. It's fun still learning stuff at 70! Keep doing what you're doing.
First I am excited to hear from the legend of you tube sailing! I actually find my spinnaker of 142 sq metered easier than rolling the code. But I need to figure out a few things first. Happy sailing and looking forward to your next master piece.
@@michaelspooren9213 my experience was that JPK delivers the boats roughly on time. There was an initial delay in creating hull 1. But my expectations were low as my last build was a year late.
Hi, your putting out great info. much appreciated. I was wondering with the sail figures you put out, does that mean you don't go deeper than 155deg? I mean for cruising, you wouldn't look at using a spinnaker pole on your A sail? Or do you loose to much speed on a flat run? Cheers, Jim
Hi Jason! Keep up making great videos! I am catching up a bit :) I noticed that you attach the tack of the furler, not directly on the padey of the bowsprit, but on a double line which you can tension from the cockpit? I always attach it on the padey directly, in fear of having troubles while furling in stronger breeze. The line might start furling and not the furler... Have you ever had that issue?
I have not had that problem but will change to your technique. One rigger was obsessed with the head being high up for a good furl. Thanks much for the input. Love it.
@@svcyclops The downside is, that to remove the tack, you will have to retract the bowsprit, and still be quite out on the bow to do so. A bit exposed for solo.
@@alb_bdr thanks for the great comment and story. Very interesting. Also like it in French as good practice for me. JPK is very fit today. Runs a fast half marathon and a much better sailor than many.

Great video! Thanks for the detailed information. Love the boat and the way how you explain things.
Really inspires to get done with my regatta and work on the next episode.
This is awesome! Bravo.
Thanks buddy!
Thanks these have been awesome videos!!!
Great to hear you like them. Hope to see you on the water
Thanks for sharing these details. I'm waiting for my 39fc 🤗
Wow. What hull number? By the way there is what’s app group you should join when you get the boat. When will your boat be done?
@@svcyclops Unfortunately I don't know the hull number yet. I have to wait until 05/2026 (that's still sooo long)

@@svcyclopsVery good. Then I am confident that I will get my boat on time. 😀🤙
@@michaelspooren9213 I got my first JPK39 on time (Hull No 4) and looks like i'm geting my second one on time as well, next year 😁. So don't worry.😉

The boat can sail lower but much slower. So you are going to in a better direction but the alternative zig zag route is faster.
Many thanks, I wasn't too sure is tacking would be quicker than going 180deg, thanks for clearing it up. :)@@svcyclops

Great episode and good information! Thanks for sharing.👍 Btw, are you still loving your 39fc?
Thanks for the high five. I am still loving. May be more now I am learning better how to sail her and operate the systems.
Also thanks for watching. Not many can’t sit through that boring a video.
@@svcyclopsAh well, at least you're courageous enough to make these videos!👍
WTF…it is open?!!!! 😂
Not surprised you got a laugh.
Code D?
Why D?
