He is telling the truth. Most Masters players are actually dogshit at the game and had to 3 stack to achieve their rank. If Respawn weren't subhuman they would release a ranked trio mode where you have to go in solo. That would be a true test of actual skill.

True, I got Diamond the past 4 splits, yet I've seen many "hardstuck Plat" players that are way better than me. Ranked is JUST patience.

I reached d4 with crypto drone only.
I was super disapointed when I hit D3, getting diamond for the first time this season, to learn it was changed and i never learnt of it. Finally being able to test myself against masters/preds outside of pubs where the gamestate was bonked was most of the reason i wasn't content with hitting diamond and stopped.
I had been playing with master players outside of ranked and they had given me a huge confidence boost so, i was curious if i was as good as they said or if they were just being nice.
i reached plat this season. i think the placement RP system just made it faster for me to reach that rank. i was killing people how i normally would but the placement boosted it up a bit. and that's pretty much where my skill level should take me. PLATINUM. i refused to rat around to get higher RP and i'm staying in plat. diamonds and above always kicked my butt too easily so i refuse to be put in the same lobbies as them by being a rat.

I like your idea with Diamonds being introduced to the Masters/Pred lobbies early on but that'd also mean separate 3 stacks that hold hand and solo players. There is so much wrong with Ranked that i highly doubt it can be perfectly balanced.
But demotion/deranking is a good start since it'd ensure only premades/stacks or actually good players would make it to the higher ranks therefore it'd be easier for the solos too since then you'll be matched with better players or at least ones around your skill level. Split 1 was such a joke that Gold lobbies were way more fun to play and also had way better players than the so called masters and diamonds.
i dont agree with forcing diamond 3 into master+ lobbies. on OCE servers, master+ lobbies dont exist, we are auto queued into south east asia lobbies with 200+ ping

Yeah there needs to be de-ranking. I've seen some diamond players and plat 1s do the dumbest shit and can't even aim lol. They are easy RP but I don't want them as my teammates

I really do think Demotion is a really good way to do it. Whenever I hit Plat 4 or Diamond 4, every match I soloQ in with fear in my mind that I get teammates who just gives 0 fks and push constantly. It is always a struggle to get from P4>3 then it is smooth sailing all the way to D4 then we back at it again then we hit the 10KRP master wall.

I personally disagree. The rank is kinda stupid but it doesn't mean it's useless. The only fix I would put in the video is that different servers, regions and platforms contribute to different difficulty levels. Rank can separate the good ones from the bad ones.
I mean ratting and avoiding enemies is a kind of skill. This is a battle royale. Anything can be a skill. You a good camper? Thats a skill. You a good fighter? Thats a skill. You a good run away from the fight and survives at top 3 everytime? Thats a skill. This game is dynamic and not JUST a fighting game. Thats just your personal preference.
For example, taken from my personal experience playing apex for a very long time already, SG server is one of if not the hardest server filled with sweats and pros and unfortunately most closet cheaters with scripts. Different server gives different chance of meeting good/sweaty/camping/cheating players. SG is the server with a high chance of getting sweaty/pro/closet cheater server type, JP is the server with a high chance to meet tactical/camping and fairly low chance of cheating players, and if you manage to get to server filled with Aussies, you get a mixed of both servers mentioned before.
RANK DOESN'T MATTER ONLY when you compare different platforms and server locations fundamentally. It is only fair if you compare with all the constant being the same such as same server, and same platform. For example again, my Master PS5 friend from another region [I met him online and we become friends], never win against me 1v1 in firing range [Yes, Never] even though my highest rank is just -100rp below Diamond 2, and again he is a Master, 3 times in a row at that. But then is he noober than me? No. Because he camps and reposition better than me, just because I win in 1 section against that guy doesnt mean I am better than him overall.
Conclusion, this game is dynamic, any type of gameplay is acceptable. This is not some 'Hey this is an only fighting game so you must ignore other not famous skills and fight, coz i said so hurr durr".

Usually streamers start calling other people trash and dogshit because they can't digest the fact they got out outplayed, I played ranked a lot and reach Predator too my playstyle is playing aggressive but I do get killed by campers a lot I do hate this a lot but this doesn't mean I will go and start ranting about it.
I don't get the point why content creators and streamer start calling rank worthless when they reach Master or Predator? It may be worthless for you but for other it matters a lot because they gone through worse experience than yours.

Maybe a different topic but wanted to share my opinion.
Having some sort of damage threshold every round should mitigate this problem. I noticed this being used in competitive Fortnite a while back(idk if they still use it), Consequences for not reaching it should be rp loss(or something which would not benifit the player in game).
Edit: In Fortnite it is called the 'Storm Surge' mechanic, seems like a fair way of weeding out the ratters

This is not a fighting game, the main goal it's not to fight, this is a battle royale game, the point of it is to survive. So it makes sense that they designed the system like that, in a game like Third party legends, even escaping or hiding at higher ranks, takes thought and skill. It's chaotic af to be running from a 4th party with 1hp and then you realize you're in front of a rat from another team, so you fight.
They probably wanted to replicate the feeling of the hunger games as close as possible, where you got people of different skills, and different IQ, different strategies. The game is probably healthier than just go around and be like "bbrrre go bullets brrr" as it targets a larger amount of audience

I hit plat while playing a pretty pasive agressive playstyle and i was so proud because i did not camp one game i was playing like it was pubs, but smarter(this was also the first season i took ranked seriously

I got master last season and last split and if you are playing normal (going for fights and only rat if your team died) its not much of a difference. Here and there a few free rp from ratting low ranks but for me it didn't really feel very much easier than last season.
My only "problem" is that i want to show my 4k/20bomb badges plus the recent rank badge but because this season rank ia a joke for most people i will have to use last seasons badge or listen to "last season master doesn't count" every match😂
Id find it funny to be honest if your teammates are so petty and bitchy that they have to comment on your badge because they probably couldnt even get it last season lol

people for some reason make it sound like masters is easy to get even with the rp change but if you look at last splits rank distribution it does show a lot more people got masters but at the same time there's only a small amount of people that got masters compared to every other rank. I think it said something like masters went up to 5 or 6% of players and pred was around 0.5 or 1% so it's still a massive achievement if you can do it as a solo. *DON'T LISTEN TO THE HATERS*

im used to games with 6 month to 1 year for ranked splits, it sucks to just get started grinding and then its over already unless you started day 1. 55 days is like a "micro split"

I made D4 - Masters in 2 evenings 2nd split duo queuing with my mate which is mental. It took me a couple of weeks ( job life ) in S8/9, S12 ranks are so messed up haha.
First of all when I saw the title I knew what u would say and I agree with everything second of all IS THAT THE REASON I ALWAYS SEE AT LEAST 5 TEAMS WITH DIAMOND 2 WITH MASTER AND 1 PRED

Last ranked split is just pain I grind almost 30 hours in last day and hit 700 something pred before that I thought I was safe in 42k

I re started playing apex on my pc in s9 after a break since s4 on console. I sucked. However I put the time in and watched scrims/algs and did aimlabs and went from a hard stuck plat 4 to a solo q to masters players in 2 seasons. To get better you have to have the improvement mindset.

the new split sucks we valk ult to go get kp at cage but valk scanned one guy we decided to land on the “solo” to find a full team ratting on top of cage while two teams were fighting below them

Good thing this split ranked was change and it's actually more difficult to get points now, so yeah Season 12 Masters animated badge actually counts and I'm going to use it no matter what people say because I just started playing since season 10 and just gotten into the Competitive setting this season so fuck it it counts for me

Bro the content is very good, liked the video. But regarding the Masters/Pred lobbies once you reach D3? Try playing ranked in SA, Brasil region, you get pred lobbies once you reach Plat IV.
I'm stuck between diamond 4 and 3 but it's because i solo queue and my teamates half the time ape everything which you can't do in diamond. It's sad because I can hold my own and sometimes squad wipe.

I think rank demotion from masters to d1 should occur after something like 2 losses at 10k rp, that way players that have had to suffer climbing through diamond still got a fighting chance in masters lobbies, but also dont throw their rp away. Especially since the skill level between diamond players and 3 stack preds is very different
They already are implementing demotion for season 13 and also lowered RP for placement and more in kills too lessen out the 🐀 🐀 🐀
I believe that whatever rank your in is the rank you play against because it proves if your better than the people in your rank therefore being able to move up. I also think that demotion was a great idea

W video. i swear when season 13 comes out and people go into firing range everyone will be spamming master holo spray and full lobbies will have master trails. also i dont think demotion is the way to fix ranked because then people wont play ranked or even if they drop back down they still get the masters rewards. they just need to make diamond harder
Demotion helps in the sense that players won't flood those lobbies, which is the bigger concern. Plats getting into Master lobbies because of ratting is what the issue is. I don't think badges are relevant when people are complaining that much. They just don't want plat-level teammates in their lobbies.
you do realise there won't be full lobbies with master trails and badges? Masters yes is more easy to get if you rat but at the same time if you look at the last split rank distribution it shows that it only went up by 2% which makes it around 5% of players hitting masters while pred has a around 0.5 or 1% of players hitting it. I think because the apex community is toxic they think that everyone got masters/pred and it no longer means anything. I say if you solo queued to it amazing job but if you ratted as a solo or got to it as a team congrats but who cares...

Demotion should kick in after 5 games. 5 straight losses with no RP gain would be fair. And demotion if you just sit there all season. Like more than 10 days of no rank progress result in a demotion

I get monkey plat 4 teammates who ratted into diamond and either W key into every team and die or hide and sit in a bush all game for +4 RP
Why not remove the RP cap on kills and assist? It's extremely annoying to have 6 KP and die early in the master lobbies, that results in a -0 RP.

@@NZealandese look. As much as people wanna call it what they will. There are defensive legends specifically that play in a corner in a building. You can't just use a mechanic like that because there are legitimate strategies being used that cater to being in a holed up place. I get you on the not ratting. But it's a much bigger factor. Imagine you are one of the teams that got 3 squad kills in a d2 and up lobby. You get down to round 5 and there are still 8-10 squads. And you can't revive your guys or vise versa. What then? You're just screwed to 1 v 3 stacked squads. Or die because you can't rat?

I’ve gotten to plat 1 last two season and every split. I feel like this split and and last split are the hardest cause I solo queue and my teammates just full send and die. I’m big on kp and think it’s important but I believe that one should get the most kp at the end of the game and at the very beginning. It’s stupid to get in fights mid game. Especially this split where evryone third parties. I’m not talking bout ratting but I am talking bout choosing your fights wisely. In most cases if you play that way u can win the game with max kp. Sadly most randoms don’t understand this, communicate, or simply have the skill to do this.
Yh.. And now thanks to bots like you.. People just hide in houses instead of juat fighting at their rank to become better.. Every one is forcing points by hiding.. And pretending they are playing "smart" ...,on top of the strike pack situation..people have runied the skill bar for apex.

Depends on where you fight, if you fight in the middle of the map near containment thats a death sentense but on the edge it is usually fine.

most masters also dont have the time to push for pred. there should be a rank for each 2k rp earned above 10k

I had a guy tell me I most likely ratted to get to masters this season because of the rp system so he assumed I was bad. I told him I solo queued to masters and was getting at least 3 to 5 kills a game and of course them shitty games we all hate. He did not believe so we queued up and he straight up died for the first 5 games, he then had 1 great game with about 10 kills. (the games with him are all in pubs btw) He then repeatedly started dying with maybe 1 kill or knock down while I had to clean up the mess. But apparently it was all my fault that he died and all that crap.
So I just want to say I understand what you mean by the rank means nothing but it means something to us players that grinded as a solo queue, getting kills and pushing teams. I also tried out masters when I got it and my first game I got 3rd place 5 kills and then died off the rip the next game. I grinded it for a bit and gained about 200rp then realised pred was at like 40k so I gave up. It just sucks when someone says you did not earn that rank because they made it easy to gain rp or it hurts when people say you don't deserve that rank you would never have gotten it without the new rp system. so if you are someone like me who solo queued their life away getting kills and not sitting in a corner of the map be happy because you have done something that a small % of people have done. (if you look at last splits ranks it shows that there are more masters then the last seasons but it's still a small % of players that got masters)

Im hardstuck Plat back then cuz im not really playing ranked except farming 4k in gold lobbies. Ive had so many 10k master friends that i always slayed in firing range 1v1, well of course theres a time i lose to them but i swear its like 70% win on me. And our damage result on every public match is mostly even. Im not flexing, me myself are unconsistent with my gameplay. of course if they put me in their ranked lobbies i would be sitting rat like a plat 2 player.

Somehow there are a lot of people getting surprised that placement matters a lot over kills in a battle royale.
This almost applies to most other games. Rank system are pretty trash in general
untrue, apex is very specific. name games you have climbed
but if master players drop once they it most players will stop playing and then your stuck with fewer players for d lobbys and and that causes another problem whaiting longer times in lobby just to get 1 game.
