I like the idea of punching the stitching holes before cutting out the pattern. I think I will give that a try with some of my own patterns. Thanks for sharing.

@@Mycontribution001 Yes the even stitch on both sides is always a struggle, especially when the leather starts to stack up and gets thicker. I've recently purchased some pricking iron pliers which are meant to solve this problem but they haven't arrived yet and will also be trying to use my arbor press with interchangeable pricking iron heads to see how that goes too. I even tried punching the wholes using my Singer 201k sewing machine and then saddle stitching through the wholes !!
I will try out one of your free patterns to see how it turns out and if I like it then I will have to add stitching wholes to my pattern printouts.

@@Mycontribution001 Do you ever have issues with the holes lining up after you glue it together ? I've used the technique of taping my pattern down to cut out but not the punching of holes. I prefer to make acrylic templates using mt scroll sew but this would make punching pre-holes difficult.
I put a couple of leather videos on my channel recently which shows pretty much the same techniques most people use only I like to carve and dye my own leather too. I've also just invested in a desktop laser engraver and some double sided pricking iron pliers which I am looking forward to trying.

@@Mycontribution001 Your style looks unique, I like the way you change the leather colour throughout your project. What software are you using for your pattern making ? I use Inkscape because it was free !!

@@Mycontribution001 Sod paying for Autocad ! waaaay too much. As for leather styles... most people just grab one piece of leather and make something with it whether that be a wallet, card holder or bag etc but I wanted to be a bit more artistic which is what I think your style is, more artistic because you're switching up the leather colours and mixing them along with contrasting stitching. Makes your leather goods stand out from the crowd I think.

I did the same made it but the cards on the first pocket is not long enough hence what happens when you don't double check your work or do a dry run first bummer too, had a good design but the cards pockets at the top did not have enough room card was sticking out, like I said double check your work.
