This is part of a collaboration over the past weeks. I highly recommend you check out the other videos by SODAZ, he creates amazing Warhammer 40K content.
The soundtrack itself is divided into three parts, fitting the scenes of the film.

I like how the Krieg uniform is a mix of German, French, and British during WW1.
I like the version in this image a bit more than the ones I usually see, it seems more futuristic in its materials and more realistic. Some gasmasks I have seen are just cloth which.....yeah in 40K doesn't cut it.
It will cut it if you get enough orks to believe it will cut it.
@@rebornstillborn Only the Stormtrooper Kriegs get more advanced equipment - like in real life. So the regular krieg have German designed cloth gas masks
@@raz1683 You’re partially right, the helmet seems to be the most prominent german thing about them, otherwise they’re mostly French. But yeah, WW1 as a whole inspired the Death Korps for sure !

Kriegsmen aren't better than Catachan Jungle Warriors, Caidan Shock Troopers, Tempestus Scions, Lucifer Blacks, or ANY Space Marine Chapter. The Death Korps of Krieg have their main talent coming from their endurance to war which does make them superior in some ways but all the guardsmen/space marines listed can beat their ass.

Death Korps were an awesome speedbump but it still took them so long to purge the planet of chaos that the entire place was a burning lifeless hellscape by the time they won.

@@kinnarawanderer If the Kriegers had a competent commander in the beginning they could have steamrolled Vraks, but their commander was foolish and used them unwisely. Not only that but when the space marine reinforcements came they disregarded their allies and took down the spaceport instead of holding it and getting backed up. they almost got wiped and their standard that they had almost got taken. then ran away not taking anything of value. " not really ", but they could have stayed and had kriegers come in. just saying I'm not a lore historian I just remembered this of the top of my head. funny thing is the DKOK never fell to chaos, but all others have.

The animation portrayed the Death Korps perfectly to how I imagined them. Not just soldiers, not even just elite soldiers. Fanatical, highly trained, and utterly competent troops willing to lay down their lives for the God-Emperor. The Korps is not a unit; it is a force of nature.
i would charge head on into a trench full of chaos marines to get a longer version of 01:47 - 02:00

wierdly, i love how its not just a church choir or an organ playing, like it has a bit of that but it also has kind of a modern tactical vibe to it, perfectly fits the animation were the kriegsmen are portrayed as suicidal but not incompetent, like you can see them hitting every shot and flashing rooms before clearing, its less ''wow 40k is so grimdark its dumb'' and more ''yeah this is probably the kind of human that would exist in 40k'' they are willing to die but are also disciplined and well trained
I agree. And about the kriegers as well. I don't think they run into battle trying to get killed. I think to them that would be like cheating the Emperor. They are trying to redeem themselves and running into bullets with intent to get killed would be wasting their life and therefore wasting The Emperors resources. So I think they do try to actually accomplish their goals. It's just they go balls to the wall trying to get as far as possible for the Emps, and hoping they get killed along the way. They clear the rooms not to save themselves, but so that they can do their best for the Emperor and earn his forgiveness.
@@BillyBob-qu1fs Agreed, the Kriegers do not actively seek out death and are not suicidal, they just don't care about dying if it means they serve the Emperor's will. They will preserve their own lives because they want to fight for the Emperor, but they will sacrifice themselves in a heartbeat if they know it serves something greater than themselves - like dying to protect a Space Marine, dying to kill a Traitor Marine (like in the animation), or dying in a strategic offensive.

@@sulphuric_glue4468 They do sometimes take it very far though. Kriegers are *so eager* to give their lives that it sometimes gets in the way of their overall strategic objectives. This is literally why their regiments still have Commissars; as handlers to ensure their willingness to die for the Emperor is put to good use.

Just came from the video too, the song was fitting and a nice detail that really gave it it's own personality compared to other 40k work of fiction. Love it! Hope we'll get more!

I've watched that Death Korps of Krieg animation from SODAZ and wow, the music was goddamn awesome and epic, especially at 1:47 where I always get goosebumps when I hear that part.
Was expecting a “salve Regina” themed video since last time I commented here.
However, it was pretty nice do see a death korps one. One of my favorite 40k regiments of the imperial guard. Awesome.

So went for a 3 am run the entire time all I was listening to was this master piece and felt like I was charging the trenches with my battle brothers and a few times I swear I screamed out FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!! like it was fucking animal instinct.

These must be some uber mega kreiger heroes on the wallpaper. They got to wield not one but two holy bolters. And I'm sure I would get nightmares trying to imagine what that third fella did to get the priviledge to wield the heavy bolter.

This soundtrack was just as good as the animation. The intensity and shifting moods accompanied the fight perfectly.
This music is amazing, I had to roll to the comment to find it immediate. Luckily SODAZ credited you so it was an easy find.
The video was great on its own merits, but the music really made it special. So many little details in both, like the extra layer at 1:17 when the Dark Angel falls in for the charge -- chef kiss!
