Just had dinner with my Dad tonight. His Dementia has gotten worse and I now realize that this may be the last year I see him or can talk with him. We have had our battles and now I must ask myself....were they worth it? Life seems so short now as I enter my sixties. This movie is so emotional for me, Robert Duvall is now my favorite actor..Morgan Freeman is a close 2nd. Guys...tell your Dad that you love them.
This movie is just perfect. It so well written, produced and acted. Downey Jr and the cast draw you so far in you feel nothing but what you're supposed to. It makes me miss my family, miss home and want to speak to them - and seeing as I travel from place to place for months at a time, I dont feel that very often.
It took three times to watch this movie before I did not have tears running down my face. It just put me in touch with my Dad who was not perfect, but my dad, and who had passed.
I dont like Iron Man, neither did I acknowledge Avenger. But then saw this movie..... completely life changer.... touched by the genuine innocence in the roughness of a father-son relation... Hats off and this song does the magic

We all can relate to this movie it ties the past present and future all together RDJ has always been a great actor I'm glad he was able to conqeur his personal demons and be recognized as simply a great actor in our era. This movie reminded me when I watching my brother die. All you can do is enjoy doing what you love with the person until they fade.

My Dad is still alive but he lives in London he's famous over there...I can see a lot of his life on CZcams or if I Google. We have a good relationship now but I still have a huge hole inside.
