    This movie truly was a palindrome.
    I was confused at the beginning, eventually started to piece stuff together, reached the highest level of understanding at the halfway point, gradually became confused again until, by the time we got to this battle, my entire brain was on Airplane mode.

      Hell no, there’s WAY more complex things happening all over the movie. The movie is WAY more than just than scene as the time inversion concept has been fleshed out massively throughout the movie. Nolan knows what he’s doing here, it’s just that he knows it will confuse some people here as the whole thing is not easy to grasp at first viewing.

      Why would they take cover? The enemies are coming back in time from the future and you have to shoot them the instant that they reach you in time. If you fail to do this they will continue going back in time and kill you earlier; if you kill them earlier instead then you don't get to see them in the "true" "timeline," because at the instant you killed them they ceased to go back further in time. So fucking confusing

    • @RShadow12
      @RShadow12 Před 2 lety +21

      No, that would be a paradox. One cannot “start out dead.” The film sets up two rules: mortal wounds travel in the direction of the target, and non-mortal wounds travel in the direction of the cause of the wound. In this case, the cause of the wound is Red Team’s non-inverted RPG, and the target is Sator’s inverted-mercenary.
      Because, in forward-time, the inverted-mercenary unfired the inverted-RPG and then was subsequently hit with Red Team’s forward-RPG, that means that the inverted-mercenary must have survived Red Team’s RPG. The reason for this is because, following the Mortal Wound Law, if the inverted-mercenary did die from Red Team’s RPG, then from Red Team’s forward point of view, they would have ran up to the concrete wall, the inverted-mercenary would have been laying “lifeless” inside the building, and as Red Team fired their RPG at the building, the inverted-mercenary would have “sprung up to life” upon contact with the RPG and THEN proceeded to unfire an inverted-RPG from the concrete wall Red Team is at.
      But, as we know, that is not how it played out in the movie. In the film, Red Team runs up to the concrete wall, the inverted-mercenary unfires an inverted-RPG from the wall, and then Red Team shoots a forward-RPG at the inverted-mercenary. Thus, the inverted-mercenary’s wound had to have been non-mortal. And, from the inverted-mercenary’s point of view, he fights in battle, and then suddenly several burns and cuts star to materialize into existence. As he moves closer and closer to the concrete building, his wounds and burns get worse and worse. When he reaches the top of the stairs, the damaged upper floor starts to “un-explode,” and suddenly the upper floor is restored and the inverted-blast “heals” the inverted-mercenary’s wounds and burns. The inverted-mercenary then notices a group of Red Team soldiers hovering behind a concrete wall, so he shoots an inverted-RPG at the wall. The Red Team soldiers then start to run backwards towards their landing zone.

      @@RShadow12 Is that Mortal Wound Law thing actually established in the movie?? It's been a long time since I've seen it. At what point do they talk about it? Because if the guy would die, would he lay there dead, decomposing in reverse time forever?? Like years ago in forward time, people find a guy's rotting skeleton (well they would see it unrotting in forward time) in there laying but nobody messes with it? What happens if they mess with his dead body, remove it and dump it somewhere else? Isn't that a time paradox?
      Also what's the "scientific" explanation behind "mortal wound law"? It sounds silly

      No they DONT “miss every shot on helicopters hovering in place” you fool! The bullets aren’t going to effect them THEN, but effect the helicopters and enemy in the PAST and Future! That’s how I know you don’t get the scene and what’s it’s trying to do when you make this making sarcastic comment like this. It’s hard to understand I know but it makes sense overall. You only say that because they are shooting people in the future and in the past who are present and NOT present. There are multiple events happening all at once happening in this scene. Everything is inverted and the things they do have to be very precise as the shooting they are doing doesn’t directly effect them unless it’s the future and past as MULTIPLE events are happening at once.
      It’s not supposed to because it’s all quick movement and action as the tenet troops are shooting at the enemy in the future and in the past. It’s highly complex to grasp but it makes complete sense and it’s rewarding when you figure it all out!

      You laughing and posting that stupid emoji only proves your ignorance as you prove more and more you don’t know what you’re talking about as this scene is very well thought out. It’s a time inversion war, no duh things are going to look off and surreal because what they’re shooting at doesn’t effect them in the present, only in the future and past so the shot on every helicopter in “point blank range” doesn’t “miss every shot” it’s meant for something else inverted in time. That should be extremely obvious given the context of the movie.

    yeah, no, I do not advise charging like you're someone from WWI, just one grenade is enough to send half of your team home in a box, just one well-placed machine gun is enough to cut your charging knights on an open field in half, but hey, ill let real veterans do the real talk, I'm just here for some shits and giggles

    I really dont understand why these scifi movies think those ground support helmets used by air craft maintenance crew are good for combat.. xD They are legit thin sheet of plastic

      in the movie it was explained that theres you cant breathe in reverse dimension, so they use that mask connected with small oxygen tank.

      @@reinheart14121412 It isn't plastic. It may look similar but military helmets use Kevlar. You can search up what Kevlar looks like yourself and what's its functions. Helmets also have limited bullet proof function as it only prevents stray bullets, fragments and small caliber pistols. These helmets use different material to airforce helmets.

      @@Thauo91823 It is hardened plastic. That helmet is a flight deck helmet produced by David Clark. I've used it during my time in service. And yes I know how kevlar works. And no not all helmets are made of kevlar (but majority is). Helmets you probably are used to seeing on movies now days consists of Koroyd tubes. Although these tubes CAN be made of many different materials (kevlar included).
