Hey, everyone! It seems some of you aren't fans of this video's background music - apologies! We didn't notice anything odd when editing (we were going for a 60's pop/rock/funk kind of vibe) but we can appreciated that it seems irritating/distracting for some of you. We'll make sure not to use any similar-sounding songs in the future! - The TRY Team💙💜🎧
Oh dont worry about it.
Some people just like to whine.
It wasn’t that bad imo 😂😂
I liked it
Mr. Beans preferred drink, is it??? o~0
What, did it give someone bad acid flashbacks?
Who knew I could do a Northern Irish accent, cause I didn’t!
Laura's reaction had me dying. Fun shoot!
Oh yes you did ! Cheers from California 😊
Still trying to figure out what you said in the Irish whiskey roulette lol
Monaghan accent
Cheers callyann🍻🍺🎉😊😂
Darren on whiskey: "Yeah, that's the single malt. 15 year, NOT 18. You can tell that the barrels were kept mostly on the northeast side of the warehouse where the temperature only varied by five degrees. I believe the man that rotated the barrels had a son named Bradley that excelled at spelunking."
Darren on beer: "I don't know how flavors work."
Callyann discovering she can do an Irish accent is just gold, polished gold. :)
Laura's reactions got me, haha
darren saying he doesnt know how flavors work is a lie, he'll get every note of any whiskey
Knowing what an apple tastes like doesn't mean you understand pairings.
And apparently Kamala Harris since that’s his favorite person 👎
i think that's because he knows whiskey, not flavors.
He was being sarcastic brother…
Callyanne and Laura are my new favorite duo. They have complimentary energies.
Any combination of Dermot, Justine and Martin doing hard liquor is my favorite
I would love to see a sitcom staring those two! Would be a delight!
Came here to say this. They are a delight 😂😊
TRY channel is definitely one of Ireland's best exports. These follks are all just so enjoyable to spend time watching.
Laura and Callyann are great together.
Laura and Callyann go together perfectly. More pairing up these two, yes please.
Darren and Grainne nail it again. ❤ Laura and Callyann were highly entertaining 😂❤
"The next one's just gonna be like, just head"
"Yes please!"
"Don't mind if I do it's been a long time" *Quick cut to next pair*
It's the clever little things like this keep us coming back. Thanks for the fun, and slainte everyone
Callyann is just a bubble of pure happiness!
Laura and Callyann lighting up the room again.. YAY😍
When I saw that Laura and Callyanne were in this episode, I knew that it was going to be a fun one. It is always a treat to see Nicole.
A red ale with crystal ̶m̶e̶t̶h̶ malts is just what I can use right now. Thanks, Darren!
I think that would be the blue ale your looking for 😂
Crystal malts are the English Caramel or Toffee flavour malts
Give Darren an ale, he says he doesn't understand flavors. Give Darren a whiskey, he'll get so many notes he could compose a symphony.
I find I am much better with tasting beer
Laura and Callyann were hysterical together 🤣Laura’s expressions are so funny when she hates the taste of stuff
Callyann's laughter gives me so much *life*. I absolutely love seeing her (and the rest, dontcha know) on the good shoots.
Oh, hey bud! You ready fer that snow there tomorrow eh?
Nicole is so enchanting
I'm a simple gal, I see Callyann? I click. Also the Callyann and Laura pairing is seriously top notch, love them together so much and Callyann going into an Irish accent had me cackling way too hard lmao
From a Belfast Boy (or fairly old man these days) it's nice to hear a local accent so thanks Callyann 🙂.
Love Smithwicks, get it here when I can. You know, you could have the worst day in the world and watching CallyAnne just makes you feel better. She is Joy in the flesh.
I can't decide which I enjoyed more Gráinne's faces, Darren's rolling thunder burp, or just Callyann being Callyann.
Great video. Thanks guys! Love ya all!
Grainne's reaction to Darren's burp at the end was pretty funny.
This will date me, but Darren's burp was channeling Lurch from The Addams Family (1960s TV show in the US). Took me right back.
@@romandelarose "You RAAAAANNNG?!"
Laura and Nicole are back!!! My two favorites!!!
Callyann has alot of positive energy in all of these try shoots that she has appeared. Darren is his usual knowledgeable self on these alcoholic beverages. Well done you guys. Your wit makes these Try shoots fun to watch.
darren so commited to the whiskey that he's burned away the ability to taste lesser beverages haha
And they’re all lesser beverages
@@DeadInside-ew8qb your not wrong
Beer is my preferred beverage
Red ales, starting with Smithwicks. Where’s Justine for this shoot?!
I've seen these duos in another one recently and think they all work quite well with each other, most excellent pairings!! (especially Laura and Callyann)
Molson here in Canada does a lovely red ale called Rickards Red, used to drink it by the boatload back in the day on Karaoke Wednesdays!
First of all, I love Callyann's energy and enthusiasm. She makes every video she's in fun. And I'm truly surprised by Grainne's admission that beer is served at cinemas in Ireland. As an American, I myself am deeply jealous!
And England
where at in America though? I'm here in the midwest couple of our theaters have bars where you can get beer and wine with your movies. granted no harder drinks but ya even the AMC showplace has one.
Irish red is a fairly common style with American microbreweries. I like it because it tends to be low ABV and I can drink several without getting drunk.
I love all the independent breweries who make one in Ireland with Sullivans red being my favourite.
I like Callyann t-shirt it's very cool. Glad she enjoyed the Red Ales .
My second favourite style after stouts but not you pastry stouts
Blaithin being annoyed is always my fave. 🤗
That woman's got a permanent grump on. Like an Irish Eeyore, LOL.
My favorite red ale is Killian's Red. A restaurant chain here in the States, B.J.'s Brewhouse has a good crafted red ale called Jeremiah Red.
My first place and second place Irish red ales are Sullivans red then Brehon Brewhouse red
Glad 2 See Nicole Back
Why do I find Callyann so hilariously funny!? Because she is! She pairs so well with any other Tryer and makes the vid so enjoyable to watch. Grainne and Darren were a great pair and matched well together. The red ales must've had an effect on Darren by the 8:45 point when he saw "crystal meth" on the bottle! 🤣🤣 Nicole still looks great but (please don't take this the wrong way), I liked your hairstyle from a couple of years ago better 😁 (just my own preference and it doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things). Nice vid.
I came looking to see if anyone else heard the "crystal meth" comment. 😆
I like how I get excited when I see Smithwicks at my local beer store and the Irish folks are like “This is like old man piss.” 😂 Well technically it is after it runs through my bladder.
I know ! For awhile I could buy it at my local BevMo , but they stopped selling it , the right bastards !
I must say, none of the Tryers seemed overly impressed with red ale. Can't remember a video when I saw them under-whelmed by the featured drink.
@@jacklowe3429 It's a very Dub reaction; particularly generational.
I’m young and love all the Irish red ales (actually brewed in Ireland) Smithwicks would be the 3/5 for me and I would be 19 from Dublin with Sullivans red my favourite.
@@iamadamsusername Very stuck up old men know best when it comes to the beer be it mild, plain or bitter.
How do you have an Irish Red Ale shoot and not have Justine Stafford??? I seem to recall her saying that she loves Smithwick's. Would of liked to see her drink the red stuff.
I think the 60s throw-back music was completely appropriate. It's from when I started sneaking beers & ales, so to me it was precisely on-point. Ignore the critics and keep doing the fine job you are. Great episode.
Love me a good red. Best I've had so far was Long Trail Centennial Red, but my local brewery, Carton, makes a Red Rye that's amazing.
Kind of a nice change of pace doing a beer try video with beers made in Ireland. I doubt most Americans could name more than three Irish beers that are actually made in Ireland other than 1)Guinness, 2)Harp lager, 3) Smithwick's Red ale 4) Murphy's Stout. Killian's beer is about as Irish as Fosters beer is Australia and Heineken is to a German beer.
Heineken is Dutch
@@OscarOSullivan Yeah Killian's Irish Red brewed in Golden, Colorado by Coors. The beer stores where I live actually have the gall to charge import beer prices for it.
I LOVE LAURA!! she's hilarious with anyone she's paired with!! 🥰🥰
OK, that little midi music in the background set my teeth on edge :P
I **LOVE** Irish Reds. It was the first category of beer I genuinely came to love.
Second to dry stout with my favourites being Sullivans red and Brehon brewhouse red
Nice to see Nicole again.
Darren's wordless commentary at the end was too funny.
I live in the US. When we go somewhere that has Smithwick, I get it. I had it for the first time when I visited Ireland back in 2008.
Agreed , Smithwick is , by far , the BEST 😊
Irish Red ales are my favorite. I somehow feel Stafford might have had something to add to this, but this was great!
My favourites come from the independents who make one in Ireland with my favourite being Sullivans red than Brehon brewhouse red.
There's a good Irish red ale my friends made at a local pub. Several pints later at the Irish music session there every Wednesday I'm a happy man.
Good to hear want recommendations reply
Bravo! That feeling of being a movie extra, what a connection!
Love Laura and Callyann together….
Thank y'all so much for including Callyann in this episode. Life has about crushed me these past few days and it just warms my heart to watch her laughter and phenomenal beautify.
The second i saw Laura is in this one, i knew I was going to die laughing.
Lmao the bitter beer faces were great! 😂😂
Nothing beats Lolsy's beer face. I always miss her when she's not on the alcohol shoots. XD
Which is funny these beers are some of the least bitter out there as the style is very unbitter
I miss Smithwicks.
I was stationed in North Carolina like '08 or '09 when I found it.
Now I'm back in TX and have not seen it in my area.
Thanks for the video everyone
When I lived in Germany we used to get Kilkenny red ale and I LOVED it. Germans make really good beer and the Irish do too :)
Thanks but Smithwicks and Kilkenny some have said has gone downhill since production left Kilkenny look out for Sullivans red
I love Laura! She always does a great commentary.
bloody brilliant, [there may ,indeed ,be a way to spell that] Irish people Try Irish things. and such variety!!
Love the channel. Love the video! Love Nicole even more!
We have Killian's out here which is pretty decent, but I had Smithwick's at a bar once and it was grand
Love it! "I really don't know how flavors work."
Smithwicks and Killians are my favorite.
I enjoy your videos so much. Gets me through the week! ❤
Laura and Callyann had me laughing so hard I was tearing up . . . 🤣😂🤣😂. Yet another awesome episode from the TRYChannel
The music is wonderful
I've had Smithwick's at The Mob Museum in Las Vegas and at the Ronald Regan Presidential Library and Museum in California. (Also, why wasn't Justine in this video!!)
Nicole's earrings are awesome!
I LOVE SMITHWICKS IT'S MY VERY FAVORITE 💗
Going back over to Cork, I'd always drink the Smethwicks, as we couldn't get it here in London.
“Crystal Meth?!?!?
Oh….crystal MALT”
Phew.
Research the varieties of malt
Southern California has a growing number of craft breweries. Jeremiah Red from BJ’s restaurant chain and Red Trolley Ale from the Karl Strauss Brewing Company in San Diego are just a few of the red ales to try.
Thanks for the laughs
In Canada the most common Irish red ale to be found is Kilkenny, which is basically Smithwick's but brewed to 4.3 and nitrogenated like Guinness. TBH I was kinda expecting to see it here, is it not a common option in Ireland?
It definitely used to be available here but I haven’t seen it in many years
Sullivans red and brehon brewhouse red are my first and second favourites
Grainne is my new fav. ❤
I've never found a Red Ale that I liked and I'm happy to watch other people also not like Red Ales... Fun vid!
Sullivans red is my favourite followed by Brehon brewhouse red
Not annoyed by the background “music” i’m high and it is quite funny. 💨🤣 👍
I love Smithwick's. I used to drink it in Canada before I stopped going out socially. I miss it and pledge to buy some tomorrow when I go out shopping pending availability.
Would’ve like to have seen Murphys Irish Red, or Five Lamps Red Ale on this shoot. We’ve been to Ireland one time, and Murphys was my wife’s favorite red ale.
Sullivans red and brehon brewhouse red are my first and second favourite
I wish I could find all that different red ale in the Pennsylvania. I’m a big fan of Smithwitch. We have a lot of great local breweries that have some great red beers. They’re not really popular here in the states. Everyone is on the IPA train. They’re ok but by far my favorite.
Killian's or Kilkenny are my go to reds!
Smithwick is the best by a looong way ! Cheers from California 😊
Thanks
My husband loves Smithwick’s (a recent discovery). His ancestry comes from Kilkenny so it was inevitable that he would love it.
Hello From Lake Tahoe California.😎👍
“It sounds like it’s YOUR fault”! Said Darin to Grainne. I almost fell out o bed w/laughter!
When you read the container, you open yourself to suggestion. Taste it first and determine the flavors, then follow up with what the container says.
"I have beef with Porterhouse." This is the part where I shit myself laughing.
I like Smithwicks. I’ve had O’Hara’s it was ok the other two, I’d like to try
A local restaurant called McGuire’s in NW Florida has an award winning in-house brewery that has an Irish Red they’re proud of as well as other brews. Maybe check them out if y’all can get it.
Good to hear ask me for recommendations if you tour breweries here in Ireland for reds.
The Irish dancing championships are here in Montréal and the Irish are driving me CRAZY!
Jamie needed this try shoot. Love his thirsty honesty. 😂
Callyanne always plz! SO CHARMING. SO IRISH.
These were master class pairings today. Good show!
If you're ever in Canada order yourself a Rickard's Red. It's my favorite red beer.
Cally-Ann getting fancy at 8:33 :)
Nicole’s earrings are awesome
I love me a Killians Red Ale, and listening to Irish girls speaking and Callyann.
Love the alcohol shoots! More please!
I've never had a bad Irish ale or Irish Whiskey. I wish I could say the same about American beer and bourbon.
Thanks for appreciating my country’s brewing.
