- Today I'm sharing my language learning routine to show how I've been studying Italian for one hour almost every day. This video shows 3 language learning tips that incorporate reading comprehension, translating, speaking, pronunciation, and vocabulary study techniques. So take some notes in your language learning notebook and learn a new language with me! I hope this video helps increase your language learning motivation, so you can keep up your studies. Just remember never to force yourself to study, or else learning a new language will feel like a chore. There's no need to learn a new language fast, since learning a foreign language is a lifelong practice! Just do whatever activities feel best for you each day, whether that's reading, watching movies in Italian, studying grammar, speaking with your language partner, or reviewing vocab! I hope you find these tips helpful and let me know what other language learning videos you want to see from me in the future!

Hello language learners! I hope you enjoyed this video! Drop a comment and let me know what language you're learning! How's it going? ❤️
Shea Jordan English, French, German and I want to start with Tagalog too if I have time😋
@@Softyvibes Wow look at you! Amazing 😍😍
I’m about to start the studying Italian for one month thing you did in June! I’m an Italian citizen, born and living in the Us. I want to learn how to speak more than just listening to family and hoping it will come to me.. I’m watching Italian vloggers and I’m just so hyped to get started! Wish me luck!!
I've been studying Korean for awhile now and have learnt so much during lockdown . Its intensified my love for languages 100%
@@teagan1117 That's awesome! Good luck! I hope you enjoy it!
A big advice I can gave you as italian is to remember that italians speak, most of the time, with open vowels. While english requires to close your mouth, italians requires to open it. It's a detail, but it will help with speaking to other italians!
Thank you! That is helpful!
My Mandarin study routine is as such:
10 minutes of reading practice
30 minutes of grammar practice
15-20 minutes of quizlet vocabulary
15-20 minutes of listening practice
That’s great! A super balanced study plan 💕
It’s been a year, so I’m wondering, how much progress have you made?
As an Italian, I hope you can make it through it really well, Italian is such a difficult and strong language, and we as Italians, nowadays still say wrong many phrases and grammatical verbs, you can do it girl!! ❤️
Aww thank you! I appreciate the encouragement! At times I get frustrated, but I know language learning is a process. Thanks again!
@@Philo229
just fyi:
Fosse*
Ci ho messo*/impiegato*/c'è voluto*
Voi che state*
(Your italian is really really good)
I wouldn't call Italian hard tbh, maybe because I've been studying Japanese which is hell 😭
me: speaks italian as first language
also me: uh let's watch this video
Lucky!
I’m Italian and I wish 😭😭
I can't believe it. I am learning English and I could understand the whole video without any subtitles!! It made my day better and gave me a big push to learn English more effectively. I think it's because you have such a clear accent that I can understand! Girl I hope you'll achieve your goals with Italian.
Aww that’s awesome! I’m so happy for you. A few people have told me they use my videos to learn English so I will continue speaking clearly and not too fast ☺️ Thank you!
i'm studying french right now! this is getting me in the mood to study.
Yay! I’m so glad you found this inspiring!
Bravo!!! Le Francais est une très belle langue. Pourquoi tu veux apprendre le Francais?
im also learning French too
@No name 111 Try to find lesson materials that are graded. What i mean by that is that there are different ways of classifying a language. The CEFR scale for instance is used throughout Europe and ranges from A1(beginner) to C2 (Proficient). So starting with A1 French lesson materials should give you better direction and make it easier to progress than just watching videos/studying in a random order. I think it's also good to listen to French audio to get used to the language, pronunciations and accents.
And ideally, find materials that motivate you as they will promote engagement!
I'm french teacher- if you need any help with it let me know :) (i give online classes)
I am learning italian and this gave me some confidence, i realise i am probably more advanced than i thought and really ought to start speaking more out loud so i don't fall into the 'i understand but cant speak' trap!
Yes exactly! I waited too long to practice speaking, so don't forget about that. Keep it up!
Ciao my name is Maria and I am an online Italian teacher on preply.
If you would like to practice your Italian or learn about it I would love to help you :) This is my teaching profile on preply : preply.com/en/tutor/449295/
abslutly good acgivity italian is so easy
I am Italian and I really admire anyone that wants to learn the language as its quite complicated, but very beautiful. Keep going girl, you're doing great!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your encouragement 💕☺️
Is french easier?
it´s going to be easy for me since i speak english and spanish
@Chocolate Rain still learning the two languages
@Chocolate Rain talking about learning Spanish and Portuguese
you re really good
little tip: when making a question in italian (like in spanish and portuguese) you gotta stress intonation... or people won t understand you re asking something
Good point, thank you!
I'm learning italian as well and I notice the same thing, I understand and I read very well but I can't respond/ write things that make sense
Right! It happens! But now I'm going to try and focus more on speaking so I can strengthen that.
It happens to me too, but with spanish (I'm italian). The problem is that italian and spanish grammar are really similar, and this is the second year I'm studying spanish
(Sorry if my english is bad)
Yeah me as well, but with english because i’m italian
rip
Same with me but in English, if you want I can help you with Italian and you with English
I'm learning Italian and English so this video was helpful in both two, thank you!
Awww great! I’m so glad to hear that ☺️
where're u from, dude? I'm been learning English too, maybe we can practice together
Im black and I’m also learning italian and I was pleasantly surprised to see your info box on this video. Thank you for your support of Black Lives Matter. Bless you
You’re so very welcome ❤️ Yes I was more than happy to list all these Black Lives Matter resources, it should be the center of our attention right now and I want people to know different ways they can support and educate themselves. I’m glad you found my video and hope you’re doing well! ❤️
I'm from Hungary. And I have just found you because I've wanted to learn Italian language. I love you so much and your tips. You are so motivating.❤️❤️
Ah szia! 👋 I lived in Budapest for a summer and really loved that city ☺️ Thanks so much for watching, I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
As native Italian, it would be a pleasure to help you with some conversation and general linguistical tips...
Something that really helped me master speaking in German as I was learning it, was writing about different things, from how my day was to the impact of fast-fashion on our environment. I think writing without following a script, is the closest thing, to speaking and today, I am fluent in German and learning Mandarin now. Nice Video by the way.
How long would you say it took you to reach fluency
Awesome, that’s a great tip. Good luck with Mandarin!
@@SheaJordan Thanks.
Wow when you learn German, the step to Dutch is pretty doable! Let me know if u need some help!
Grace 019 it took me one year, but it is because I was taking 1h30mins of German classes everyday and studying by myself for atleast three hours everyday. So in total, about 5hours a day. I wasn’t going to school. I just had to learn German before I could start university. The time you need to get fluent all depends on how much time you put in:
I’m also learning Italian and your videos are helping me a lot. I speak Spanish and English so I feel like thats a huge advantage for me when learning Italian. Love your videos ❤️
Thanks for watching! I'm so glad you found them helpful!
Italian living in Texas here! Your Italian is pretty good!
Aw thank you!
I have an Italian friend and we FaceTime every day. He practices his English and I practice my Italian (we have conversations together and help each other out). We usually talk for 1 hour + 😊
That’s awesome! You’ll learn super quick that way!
Hi! I’m Italian if you want we can talk to get better at the languages we are learning. Mi Instagram is michael_drescoo
What do y’all talk about? I usually run out of things to say to my language partners and end up sounding awkward😂💔
@@inaebmayn me too lol
Pro tip: "Qual' è..." is grammatically incorrect. It doesn't want the apostrophe. It's a common mistake in Italy, too. ^_^
Oh interesting, thank you!
yea i thought that too shouldn't it be quale
Itz Just Some Lofi Sooo Yeah
It should be “Qual è”
@@SheaJordan Yes, it's a good correction by @CammyBoy80. And as I see you unaware of it, I want to add that for some words a variant without final vowel is legit in some contexts. They're specifically words ending in l, m, n, r + vowel and «quale» is one of them. You can say either «quale può» or «qual può» - although this vowelless variant would usually sound bookish/poetic. So, as «qual» is itself legit, you don't need the apostrophe (notice the frozen phrases «qualsiasi*» & «qualsivoglia», which means «whatever/whichever»). Another such word is the mostly poetic word «mar», variant of «mare». Thus, for example: «il mar è immenso», without apostrophe.
Also, congratulations for your pronunciation! it is very accurate, you've been doing a great job! Just be careful with the word «video», which sounded more like you were pronouncing «vidio». ;)
* from: qual + sia + si, pronounced qualsíasi /kwalˈsiasi/, with the second -s- as in Engl. sea, not as in Engl. zoo.
@@asiyyahmullen8777 quale + è = qual è
I am also learning Italian as a 90 days challenge "Italian from zero in 90 days" I am on day 11, hope I will be able to persevere and progress quickly. Good luck to you! 😀
Amazing! You can do it!
Hi! I'm learning Italian too. Well I got that inspiration from you. I studied like you , and now I have improved my vocabulary and I can read small sentences in Italian. Thank you so much for your amazing video. I think you should make a whole video in Italian. It would be very very useful.
Thanks so much and I’m really glad my videos inspired you. It always makes me happy when people tell me that! I’m excited to make a video in Italian, I’ll do that this month! That’s my goal ☺️
Just found you on the internet. I've been studying and learning italian for the past 3 months. I've put much time into this pursuit and have made progress but have a long way to go. I really enjoy the learning process and I relate to your quest to understand and speak the language. Thanks for the great ideas. You are very encouraging and inspiring. Looking forward to more videos. Grazie mille!!
Amazing! Stick with it and hopefully my channel will provide good tips along the way ☺️
I love you tips, really helpful!
This is so helpful and smart! Thank you!
This was so motivating especially hearing you speak Italian at the end of the video! I’m learning Romanian and it’s so hard I get very frustrated but your video helped me get that motivation for today! I never thought to read short stories, great idea!
you just became my favorite CZcamsr! I've been learning English for a while now, and since quarantine and social distancing started I've been thinking about trying to learn another language, and your video How I Learned Italian in 1 Month gave me the push that I needed it.
That is awesome, I'm so happy to hear that!
Thank you for the video!! I've been out of strategies and resources but now I can get back to keep improving my Italian!!
I'm Fabiano from Brazil. I'm learning your beautiful language and also italian. I really love the way you're doing it.
I started to learn Italian almost a MONTH ago and I love it.

I'm Italian and I think it's a cool sistem to learn with this short bilingual stories. I will try this books you have shown.
Definitely! I hope it works for you ☺️
I learnt both English and Italian but I would love to speak also Spanish. Your videos encouraged me to take this new challenge!

Ciao Shae! You’re actually great, your Italian is so good, bravissima!
Awww thank you! That actually means so much to me! I'll be posting a video completely in Italian this month, so watch out for that :)
Ps. I am Italian and I am learning Swedish at the moment, while also trying to hopefully improve my German and Japanese to C1.
Wow that's awesome. Good luck and congrats on all those languages!
Ciao Yari, posso chiederti se hai una certa routine per il giapponese?

You’re welcome! I’m glad it’s helpful ☺️
It’s really helpful. I can't thank you enough. I am the lover of your channel ❤❤❤

Very nice! Keep up the motivation.
Thank you for sharing these great resources. I really like the books you recommend and looking forward to seeing other tips and tricks from you.
You’re welcome! Thanks so much for watching ☺️
Ciao! Really helpful😊 I am starting to study italian and it is very interesting and challenging at the same time. Thanks for all your tips. Keep it going! Buona fortuna!
Yay! That’s awesome! Good luck with your studies!
I’m Italian, and watch this video it’s so cool because the person try to learn my language!!! Trust me if you learn all the alphabet and all the sound of the letter it’s all more simple because Italian is a phonetic language 😉
Thank you! Yes it's definitely nice that it's phonetic, unlike English where words spelled similarly can all sound different haha
I love your idea of translating stories into English! I can understand most of what I read in French but I can’t speak it well, so the translating exercise is going to be so helpful for me!
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching!
I'm learning Italian and I'm proud that I was able to understand what you were saying in Italian without looking at the translation :)
Awesome!
Very nice video. I'm impressed by how organized you tackle your language journey. I don't know if this is appropriate but if you'd like I can recommend an Italian language school that does online lessons. I didn't know a word of Italian when I moved there and had huge troubles communicating even though I understood a good amount. My teacher really helped me with her communication-focused style of teaching to be confident in expressing myself.
Omg, that is the channel I've been looking for for so long 🤩! ( I just found your channel today)
Welcome!! Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you found me! 💛
Yay!!! I requested this video for you and I'm thankful that you did film it💘💖💞💕😍Can't wait to get motivation from you again!!
So excited! It’s almost here ☺️ glad you enjoy my content and I really hope it’s helpful and motivating 💕🙌🏼
Shea Jordan Can’t wait!!🌸😊I’ll always support you!
In love with your tips, thaaanks
You’re very welcome!
Congratulations for your Italian study session! I'm Italian and trying to learn French and German.
Especially in German I try to use mnemonics to collect as much nouns as I can since linguistic roots are not so close. Though it might sound outrightly simpleton, picturing words in your mind starting from what the stranger words recall is incredibly useful to got them stuck in your mind, it takes a little bit more but it's surely worthwhile in the long run.
Yes I’ve heard of this tip before in a podcast! That’s a super great method 🙌🏼
That's cool, good luck with your Italian study.
Thank you!
Brava! Studiare l’italiano da autodidatta è un’impresa epica! 😀
I'm learning English right now ! Thanks for this video it helps me to get a lot of motivation 🙏

I swear you're the only one who can make decisions about it for all words
Great video , grazie mille. !

Aww thanks so much!
Love seeing the different tips people write in the comments ❤️. What works for me is finding songs I like in the language I want to learn and looking up the lyrics. I learnt them by singing and enjoying it 😊

Hi Shea. I really like your videos because they're very helpful for my learning.

Awesome! I’m so glad you liked it!
Ciao! Bravissima :) As an italian I wish you luck, our language is super complex and sometimes it can be frustrating. You're doing amazing
Thanks so so much! I know, I definitely get frustrated because it is tough! There are so many rules and exceptions to certain things and sometimes I feel like I can't keep up. So, thank you!
This is Refreshing and energizing Thank Youuuuuuuuuuu ❤🌻
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
I made a video in Italian about how I learned it almost fluently! You remotivated me to find new Italian artist to listen to and get to the next level!
That's amazing! I want to check out that video :)
@@SheaJordan yes plss!
I can completely relate to you! I have a similar challenge with French, I can understand my tutor perfectly but lack the active vocabulary to answer with more complex vocabulary.
Yes! It's so frustrating! So this month I really want to focus on speaking!
Your voice is so soothing ❤
Thank you! People have said this before and I'm like wow thank you, I take it as a very nice compliment :)
This was sooo helpful! Thanks
I'm so glad! You're welcome! 😊
Brava! Io cerco di imparare l'inglese attraverso i tuoi video!😃
Well done , by now I'm studying italian too!.
Keep making these kinda videos 🖤
Awesome! I definitely plan on making more :)
I usually do not comment but I can relate so much to this. I am Italian, currently living in the Netherlands and working very hard to reach the fluency that I want in Dutch. So far I have been doing it by myself and it is incredible how far you can go if you are willing to put the time and the consistency in. Picked up a few good tips in your video, so thank you! By the way, your Italian sounds pretty good and I always like to se someone trying to learn my native language. I always wondered how tricky is Italian for those who try to learn it. Buona fortuna e non mollare, ciao!
Thank you so much for commenting :) It truly is amazing to see how far you've come when you look back on your progress. I'm glad I could provide some helpful tips!
Yes it good to make time to study the language, thanks for sharing
I have been learning French and Japanese and it's nice to see another person's approach to learning a language! I agree with you, when I was learning Spanish last year I would be able to understand a huge amount of Spanish but It was very hard to say exactly what I wanted to say when I replied.
Yes, it can be so frustrating. It's hard when you don't live in the country of that language, but we can always find ways to talk with native speakers through the internet and mobile apps. Keep it up!
Actually i love your content. It inspires me alot to study languages ❤️
So happy to hear that!
OMG!! I love the background of your video.
Thank you!
Awesome!
I'm a French tutor in Italki and i can tell you your method of learning a language is really good! :)
Oh thanks so much ☺️ that means a lot!
Lei una brava maestra complimenti
I would like to share with you that I have learned Italian for almost 8months I wanna say that because of your Italian learning video, it inspires me to go this far . Grazie a te !! Mi inspira ad imparare l’ italiano il tuo video
Really? Amazing! That makes me so happy to hear that I've inspired people. Keep it up!
As a half Italian who knows the language, it would sound more natural to say: "Il tuo video mi ispira ad imparare l'Italiano". Putting the subject first is more fluent-like.
Also "grazie a te" is used as a reply to someone thanking you (grazie). Grazie mille would sound better. Good luck learning.
your pronunciation and intonation are quite good! Greetings from Italy !!!!!
Aww thanks! That means a lot 💕
Thats so Good to be English native speaker so you can properly and 100% use those resources!
Very true!
Brava!
It’s very good to see that you break it down into sections like reading, translating, speaking, etc.
I’m fairly new (started two months ago) and have the same issue where I understand most things (I’m a native latin language speaker which helps) but I also find it hard to construct a conversation.
Yeah, that's tough. But I think it takes time to be comfortable speaking!
great video and good advice overall, her voice should be on a tape in a museum
Wow, thank you!
Ciao carissima, complimenti per l'impegno che ci metti nell'imparare la nostra lingua ! La nostra non e' una lingua facile da apprendere e sopratutto da parlare. Continua cosi' ! 👍👏💪🔝🫶💃👋👋
how nice to find your chanel. I'm passionate about learning new languages. I already can speak English, Spanish, Italian, French and I've started to learn German. My tip to you is: read it loud out hehehe speak to yourself in italian, listen to music, watch some short videos too, there are pretty good ones here on youtube.
Glad you enjoyed! I use this tips already, they definitely are helpful!
sei bravissima! Complimenti :)
Awww grazie!
Very interesting video. I am very new at learning Italian, and am using Rosetta Stone. This will be great for when I am a bit futher in. I try to do 'some Italian' every day, and other than my course that includes CZcams videos, listening to music, or watching Italian tv. I just remind myself that I did not learn English overnight (I am Dutch living in the UK), so will try not to get too frustrated with myself in learning Italian and it taking time as well. Thank you so much for these tips.
