I may only be 13 but I want one, a peterbilt 352 running a detroit with a 13 speed. I think I’m one of the few of my generation that actually appreciates the good, older stuff. Bluegrass and old trucks!
Detroit 2 strokes are the best sounding engines ever. My grandpa drove a heavy hauler that had a 12v92 and I just always liked hearing that roar to life with that 4" straight pipe
I love the old cabover Pete's.... very well built trucks. The old Detroit makes it that much sweeter! Have to say, the best part of this truck is the outside door handles. Love it! Keep it alive man. Sweet old ride for sure.... I'll have one some day.
That sound brings back memories back in 1989 I drove a 78 White Road Boss with a 318 Detroit for a while and a straight pipe. Low man on the totem pole at that time so I got the oldest truck. Other drivers hated that truck especially when I would pull in the yard, rest stop, or truck stop in the wee hours of the morning. It was a garuntee that they'd be woke up while in their sleeper! Hahaha I had no sleeper just a steering wheel to lay my head on and catch a nap.
I love that..my uncle had a cabover Pete..l loved ridding in that thing.. Your truck sounds like an old MCI-9 I used to drive for a bus company..even had the same idle till it warmed up..mmm the smell of diesel on a cold morning..the air buzzer raising hell.. That bus had the Detroit 8V92 w turbo..no throttle stop..that bus would run like a scorched cat..
Love that rolling idle!!!this is what my uncles Detroit sounded like exactly with the long rolling idle where it sounds like it s going to starve out. Oh the memories! here in south western Ontario Canada in the bitter cold at 3 am when we used to get it ready to head out for the day.
Love this old truck ! and the sound of the engine, however, I can tell you my 8.3 Cummins wouldn't have rolled over twice in 35 degree weather before it was running - no block heater, no ether, although it will smoke blue for the first minute or so at that temp.

The newer trucks have no soul.

it's saying "America........ America........ America............America!"
When trucks were actually trucks.
I would take these old trucks over the new junk today!
The old girl sounds cranky
Nothing sounds like a V-6 and V-8 Detroit. Love the way sound.
just listen to that sweet detroit v8 music to my ears
