I’d love to upgrade it to get the latest Dolby programming and I’d obviously want to get another Technics unit so they better build stuff for Best Buy customers.
Does it turn on automatically when the power plug is insert into the power outlet socket? Or do you have to turn it on with the remote to get it out of standby mode when the power plug is insert into the power outlet socket?
It looks great, it has the Technics logo on it and it is in vintage stamped metal. No audio miracles, but that should not be a deal breaker for some New Wave and Heavy Metal records. So I was going to get one... But then I heared the price tag. Absolutely agree! Just look at the weight and build quality of that thing! She is waving it like a packet of chips! This box doesnt deserve to wear the badge Technics.
@Martin M You clearly have no idea what so ever what you talking and claiming about. Let me give you a simple example. I run Sony TA-E80 ES,and TA-N80ES. Pretty old machines. My best friend got Sony STR-DN1020,and after struggling for 3+ hours of installation, the sound was mediocre. These days you pay for bells and whistles, not quality. USB,wifi, Bluetooth, all kinds of connectivity, but not quality.
For that price you can get a 7.2 yamaha advantage and you get more for your money . Build in wifi, 7 hdmi, 4k upscaling , and so on so think twice before you buy .
LOL this is for people who like music, a 7.2 receiver might be great for both but it's not necessarily a great value compared to a 2 channel system with digital inputs when it comes to sound detail. and no audiophile listens to compressed streamed music
OMG!! The way she lifted that amp out of the box so easily gives the impression that it's light as a feather! Certainly not worth its premium price! I've always liked Technics from past decades but I'd have to pass on this modern day iteration.
It's a class D amp. They are much more efficient than traditional class AB amps, which require massive radiators. Thus, this amp only has a few smaller radiators, meaning that it weighs significantly less.
@@votive3946 Yes I have heard one and I completely agree with What Hi 2* review (they rarely get things wrong)- disorganised, poor timing and lacks energy and drive. I found the sound to be fizzy and brittle (through decent Q acoustic speakers). Maybe the soon to be released Technics R1000 will bring Technics amplifiers back onto the scene but this one certainly won’t. Shame because Technics have made some astounding transistor amps, I own an SU-V90D and it’s superb!
