- I'm struggling to truly find my form with the Solinco Whiteout. Mainly, the beauty of the Babolat Pure Strike VS is pulling me away, but am I being too vain?

Tennis overlord in the wild
No other channel explores the thinking that goes into the customizer’s craft. While that IS fascinating, what keeps me coming back is the analysis. Others analyze frames. You analyze frames in context of your form and the feel you’re looking for, and you do it well. So I, for one, am glad you’re still on the hunt!
Brando how nice to see you around here too! You won't remember me because I use another name and I didn't have any picture either before, but you were the one who discovered what recoil weight and MGR/I is for me (in the comment section of a video from "Tennis Spin"), and I would be forever grateful!
Your thread about it in TT is gold!
Wow@@Maiqel , your comment has me kinda verkempt. Start a Conversation with me in the forum; I want you in my RW Table database!
@@brandomaxwell well I've been more of a reader really in TT so I'm not even sure I know how to do that 😅 but I'll try!
Which areas of the racquet did you add the lead on? Is the power comparable to the extreme racquet that you had after the customizations?
curious if variable beam width is better for you than standard beam thickness...being late on the fh makes me think the racquet is a bit slow through the air.
I think the first clip is a good example of being late due to poor preparedness but I'm not sure that tells the whole story with the footage towards the end of the video
hi...
can i ask a question?
right now i'm currently using Solinco WO 18x20.
i think this racket was great.
but i need a little bit more spin.
with this WO 18X20 kind of control.
What Racket would u reccomend?
thankyou 🙏🏻
more spin?
improve technique and faster strokes + medium soft strings at 1.20. use star shaped or 4,5,6 ogonal's
spin is 95% skills. 2.5 % strings and 2.5 % racket.
Sometimes a higher weight and swingweight will trigger you to contract a bit (essentially shortening the total length since you tuck in more) to make the effort of swinging more easy.
Is it possible that your biomechanics are compensating about equally for the difference in effort to swing? Or that the whiteout is less spin friendly and your tucking in of the arm is some way to increase whip to keep things in better? I suppose anything is possible but these are the kinds of adjustments I have made, here and there, depending on the racquet.
The more extreme the racquet, the more obvious changes in strokes can be. Like hitting with the Pure Strike 18x20 aside the Pure Aero 98, your swing path and techniques may vary a lot.
its tough to say for people like us who test racquets all the time. I'm quite good at adjusting to new racquets, since I've been doing it for so long, so it can be tough to remember what my "purest" form might be.
Have you tried the Percept 100D? I'm waiting on the demo to test it but I have seen good reviews about that racket.
no, its not available in Canada so it probably wont happen
I love the 100 D Used it a few months now
Did you tried the regular 100? I really liked the 100 but I was breaking the strings really quickly.@@nancyfranks9533
Hi, I signed up to your channel and I find your reviews very complete and precise. I wanted to ask you, I am an intermediate player and I would like to purchase the Solinco WO 18x20 which I find to be a beautiful racket, in your opinion is it preferable to the Yonex Percept 100D, perhaps easier to manoeuvre? Is SOlinc much more difficult? Last question, how can the solinco be strung with a multifilament? Thank you
I haven't tried the 100D because its not available in Canada. I imagine it would be easier though because of the lower swingweight and larger head, but also, Yonex racquet general feels quite cooperative. I can't speak much about multi's sadly. I tried a few hybrids in mine and didn't particularly like any of them. Solinco X-Natural works the best for me though.
In my experience, the equipment is not as bigger factor as we like to think it is. I started switching between sticks due to a shoulder injury and after 2 years, went back to what I used to use for about 10yrs and instead focused on improving my technique. I have made significant improvements in the last 6 months. In the end, I think the ideal is that the racket almost has to feel like a non entity that is not distracting. My hitting partner used to play the junior tour, playing against the likes of Andy Murray in his teens, and he does not care about the racket. His focus has always been on technique. Yes there are certain rackets that suit styles of play, however, it probably is not as important as we want to think it is. Choose a racket you feel comfortable with and stick with it - the grass is not greener on the other side. A racket is an inanimate object, it does not play tennis for you.
Though I love hearing about the new rackets and strings coming out, however, I now have zero desire to try them.
I agree 100%. I do not think the racquet is the most important thing. However, I do think it's the most fun thing to mess around with since I'm a rec player and I don't care about winning tournaments.
Please try the new Angell MP 99 PRO! I tried over 15 rackets this year(including Solinco 18/20 and Babolat pure stike VS). But no racket is simply near to this racket. Stability, power and control are so good and easy to understand. 18/19 string pattern is working perfectly. And the feeling of the sweet spot is just butter and forgiving. And it goes so easy to the air due to the great balance and frame design. So to me it is the racket of 2023 by far! 305g and an 21mm frame with the same or better stability as the Gravity Pro are so great and so relaxed to play. And you can customize the racket to your liking on their website. So happy to finally find my racket of choise after more than 2 1/2 years.
i have heard some great things about this stick, might have to give it a try
Sounds like the specs of the Head Prestige MP/MP light
Choose the racket that best serves your best or go to stroke. I have found some that are great on my forehand and then its struggles on my backhand and some slice really well and others dont and serves and so forth. Although I want an epic forehand I have made peace with that my backhand is my best shot so I have now chosen a setup that works for that. Interestingly just adding an overgrip made a huge difference to my double backhand. That extra thicker handle seem to get me to hit harder where in the smaller grip it wouldn’t feel so solid. So my current setup is best for double backhand, then serve. Good on forehand. Wish it was better with slice.
Hey Beckett, what would you suggest for an arm friendly setup in the whiteout 18x20? Triax/cream? Gut? Fb multi? Thanks
I actually think some of the really soft poly's I've tried lately soften things up just as much the X-Natural multi I put in the mains a few months ago. I've been liking Toro Toro as a spin string and Ghost Wire actually works amazingly well in the WO. Keeps the feel alive (not muted like Toro) and while really softening things up. Something like Grapplesnake Alpha/Ghost Wire would probably play amazingly at 46lbs.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I've tried toro toro w enso pro cross in my radical mps, still felt stiff. Tried fb caviar as well that felt better. 28 yr old 4.0 w arm issue no doctor seems to know what it is lol. So was thinking its time to look to multis or elastomer polys to soften it up. Currently have triax fb in 1 of my radicals.
Thanks for your matching rackets video awhile back as well have used that on multiple sets of rackets now.@@TennCom
@@dutchtacos of course thanks for watching! Not that you need to take this to heart, but FYI, the lab numbers on Caviar state that its the stiffest Toroline string. I agree with you though I felt it was softer as well. I had a really nice experience with Ghostwire recently as well, as similar in feel to Caviar, but more power and more of that elastic feel. Lynx Touch might also be worth investigating. Much better spin that most multi's and its not a poly.
Good info and no worries have no problem being humbled. I put alpha w cream crosses in at 46. played for like 30-45 minutes with it and the strings are already not snapping back. Don't know if thats due to the poly mix or tension. Otherwise felt good.@@TennCom
@@dutchtacos ive had some issues lately with hybriding poly's with extra soft crosses too. Not sure if this is a Cream thing, as I've never tried or strung it, but a lot of the Toroline stuff will simly reject anything that isn't super slick (which Alpha isnt). I had better luck with Ghost Wire.
is there a compression sleeve you'd recommend?
i have zero experience with them so sadly no
It seems your spacing on the forehand is pretty jammed. Maybe there's something to do with the whiteout that's encouraging you to do that, but it might also be just drift in technique. It would explain why you had loved the Whiteout, but then experienced declining results
I think its probably a bit of both. Technique definitely changed with time for various reasons. I'm working on my stretching out my takeback a little more to help open things up on that side.
if its the XTD then the easiest answer is the racket is longer and his spacing is the same as a normal racket
This is a Diary of a Racketaholic hostage video blink twice if they’re forcing you to try a Pro Kennex

Dude, what has your left hand to do anything with your racket??
Love the personal perspective you always provide in your videos! I’m well aware that you thought the Shift 99 was s***, but, if you haven’t already done so, I would encourage you to try the Shift 99 Pro (even better if you can get your hands on a Wilson Labs Shift 315). Stock strung specs are similar to your other setups, after you customized them. The amount of spin you get with an 18x20 is surprising, especially when paired with a thinner shaped poly and a vertical swing path which you already have per your swing mechanics. The denser string pattern might provide the “spin-control” you are seeking.
I actually didn't mind the string bed on the Shift 99, it was the high torsional stiffness but low lateral stiffness that i found off-putting
Did you try the weighted but cap though?
indeed i have tried both weights
I have learned that when it comes to tennis racquets, numbers are very deceptive. Currently I customize my racquets based on feel only. I have been testing newer, lighter racquets to replace my old PS 6.1 Classic, and the closest I have come in terms of how my strokes feel is using the 6th Gen Vcore 95. Balls fly a bit differently, but I manage that with a little bit of weight, different strings and tension.
This was the approach I used when I setup my VC95 and ETs. There's definitely something to be said for trusting your body and ignoring your brain.
Isn’t your solinco extended length? Are your other racquets extended? If not, it seems like your body still needs to adjust the spacing on your forehand which is why you’re bending your elbow more.
no, I use the standard length 18x20, mainly because i didn't want to switch to 27.5 and constantly readjust for future racquet reviews.
@@TennCom interesting! It is strange how different your stroke is between the two racquets. Since you test so many racquets (which we all really appreciate!), have you ever noticed that change in form with other racquets as well?
So what did go wrong?
You're overall swing is way better than mine. I'm in the process of completely revamping my forehand. But you're right, you are swinging differently with the extreme. Looks like maybe you're coming around a hair later with the whiteout. I know you were paying attention to your elbow spacing of your right arm, but what stuck out to me was the spacing of your left. With the Extreme your lead hand always seemed to be a little more extended forward before you began to swing through. Just a thought. Keep up the great content!
I think that's a great point. There are a lot of great coaches, like Rick Macci, who believe everything starts with the takeback
Might be worth comparing your swing with Sinner instead of Novak. You are more built like Sinner and he has more compact “t-rex” arm style that seems to have work for his size making it one of the best forehands on tour. I have been studying his swing trying to help me - as I went from bent arm to stretched arm and my forehand fell apart in matches for months. So now I am reversing into even more compact. Do a side by side - just for yourself.
Hey there,
Where do you find the polarized index? I 've had injuries with polarized rackets (babolat, pro kennex...)
About the rest, you think to much, your rackets are to heavy. No offense but I think you should work your explosivity, bodyweight transfer and play lighter.
I can put pace with my 305 blade 98 16x19 and it is stable enough against 5.0 - 6.0 strong hitters.
You want more power? Vcore 98 stock form is better.
I agree working on my explosivity and stuff would be much better for my game. I think that much is quite clear, regardless of how you analyze my tennis. The problem is that I don't care to. It would require gym work and I'm not about to start doing plyometrics everyday to help my recreational tennis. I don't have the footspeed and stamina to rip a stocky against a high 5.0 throughout a match. I also don't believe that's an ideal setup for anyone, including Carlos Alcaraz.
Also, you can calculate the polarization index if you have mass, SW and balance using this calculator on my website: tenncom.media/resources
Static weight and swing weight are lower on the VS and probably getting in a better range for you. Can you get the SW down to 322 to 325 on the VS? Also, you are chasing too many things down at the same time. You may need to work on the fear-hand first and then find the SW and static weight that help you reproduce a consistent stroke that produces good net clearance, depth, and shot weight/speed.
Its pretty impossible to maintain consistent fearhand technique and make all these racquet reviews. For my game you are 100% right, but for my existence in life, its harder to say
You have a very "top Spinny" forehand, and the twist weight is too high in the Solinco, that is why it doesn't "feel" right.
IMO, you need to get more from your legs - loading up better and keeping your elbow up a bit longer. That would require slightly earlier prep. I think getting a lot more from the ground when you load and then explode with a relaxed grip through the hitting zone. I think you'll gain a noticeable uptick in power. I work on this all the time with my junior/college players every day and the difference is amazing when they start getting more from their load up.
I just fell to my knees in Solinco walmart
No control
I can only judge personally, barring all spec analysis, overall static weight would be way too high, definitely unmanageable for me
For me the problem would exist in that the freedom to swing the racquet in any way shape or form, i'd be restricted by the static weight immensely. I have noticed quite some differences in removing 5g of lead, even from the throat both with the ISO 305 and Gpro, going from 332g to 327g, and it has had overall a positive impact, giving up only marginal amount of stability
You think about why people are always saying you shouldn't play with an RF97, personally your specs fall into that category for me - i think a lot of people rely on the free stability and plow through from the SW and mass alone, but alot of it can be compensated by technique and timing, racquet head speed - most people don't generate alot of racquet head speed
Anything that reduces or restricts racquet head speed for me, is a detriment, especially when you consider alot of shots in real time will be off balance, on the run, on the stretch, when you aren't stabilised, in position to utilise good weight transfer - the question for me is how well do you manage all the nuanced shots, where your technique is the most likely to crack under pressure, when in those positions, when you have to get by with purely hand speed alone
Although you have your specs measured to suit your game, is it in the right order of priority?
- Do you play under stock and make the minor adjustments until it feels right?
- Or do you go off with what your calculations say, and hit the court with your designated specs first before you hit?
When I first got the WO I hit it stock for several weeks and slowly added weight until I got felt comfortable with it. Added some, took some off, added more, took more off. Took like 3 months to dial in. I notice that my swing speeds are largely the same with static weights ranging up to 350g. Over that and things slow. Things slow as they got closer to 335SW and become quite bad over that number.
Take a stock PA98 for example, I'm quite sure I swing my modified WO faster than the stock PA98, and not even for control reasons, but because of how the weight is distributed with the PA98, it doesn't mesh as naturally with my swing as the WO.
I'm reading this in the same voice narrating your videos
Stock balance point on the Pure Strike VS is influenced by the leather grip.
Pure Strike VS is good when not stringing the top string nearest the tip. and not exceed 50 lbs in tension preferably 46-48 lbs with medium soft 1.20 strings.
It's not the racquets it's just your technique, instead of opening your right shoulder out in anticipation of your stroke you almost protect it and have it hunched in, you're losing a lot of power through rotation...👍
do you mean on the take back or as i start swinging towards the ball?
Hiya, the take back, if you watch your right shoulder it's very tucked in and you are only get 50% of rotation and extension because of this, you're losing a lot of power and ultimately control as your racquet head speed is hindered. In my humble opinion. Your videos are excellent by the way 😉👍
"power gains, something more powerful, easy to use experience" But then you moved from a 16x19 string pattern to an 18x20. If you wanted more easy to use power, you would have reduced swing weight about 5 pts. Wondering if you strung the WO the same as the ET. Did you try thinner strings in the WO?
ive dropped tension on the WO by about 5lbs
Somehow, even after your extensive racquet search, Beckett, I am sure nobody is surprised. What is the longest you have ever stayed with one racquet since you began this channel? When your passion is the search for the best racquets and string out there, did you really think it would ever actually end? Of course you need to move on now - whether you really do or not. So it begins again. One thing to remember though, to quote George Will, "The pursuit of perfection often impedes improvement."
Ah, the lure of something new and shiny.
When in doubt its the strings or the racquet never the user
fax
Thanks, I really enjoy your videos. I know you went thru an extensive customization process on 20 different weight configurations but maybe you can try again higher buttcap weights which the solinco whiteout caters for (avail in 5g or 10g) to lower the balance point and increase the recoil weight. Hope this helps.
thank! I've got a 5g in one and the 10g in the other due to QC but they are nicely setup now!
Have you tired the Tecnifibre Iga 298? Its a really good frame, very stable for the weight, good control/spin and maybe can suit you and helps to improve your movement...
I have but why do you think changing racquets would improve my movement?
@@TennCom for me happens when i play with heavier frames to not make the full movement sometimes, especially when i start to get tired
@@murilo3123 for me the movement comes when I get regular high quality hits which is tough when it’s wet outside most of the time
Not to be overly simplistic and downplay the racquet, but it looks like a lot of your problems would be solved by starting the swing earlier and leaning in to every ball. I've found a switch to a much more head light racquet helped me out a bit in this regard, but it was mostly just telling myself on every shot to start early
You love the extreme and hit well with it... why are you changing? Could it be that your OG stick is really the one for you? Or perhaps it just the footwork ❤
The stability on the WO is so much better, especially given how worn out my Extremes are. Better footwork would help, among other things.
I think you need to try the new 2023 radical pro, it’s one of the best rackets I’ve ever used
The leather grip on the VS in stock form helps to lower the stock balance.
At some point Beckett you might just have to say "I'm an Extreme Tour 2021" user. I've been where you are I tried to switch to the Radical MP because I hated the colour scheme of my 2019 Gravity Tour. I told myself the lower static weight of the Radical would help me swing faster and the thicker beam more easy power yada yada but at the end of the day, I'm a Gravity Tour user and I'm in the market for either the Auxetic version or someone who does custom paint jobs 😄
If I was picking a racquet for you based on your strokes, it would be either the Pure Aero or the Pure Drive. You have the wristy topspin that compliments those racquets. The Pure Drive would give you more pop on your serve as well, even if it's fallen a bit out of fashion. But if you like hitting with the Pure Aero so much, I don't understand why you'd want to switch to the Pure Strike. I haven't tried the newer one, but found the older ones to be a poor imitation of Head's player racquets.
I struggle a lot with the new Babolat 100's when it comes to the whip factor. To me they feel much better suited to hitting through the ball than brushing up
@@TennCom interesting! That would make sense then given your swing. I'm definitely mind-locked to the older versions of Babalots as I've never been a fan
LoL... I almost bought it as well until I touch it in the store. I check the balance is on the middle unstrung, immediately i know it's not for me. I like head light racket with lower swing weight and I went with Artengo TR960CT 16m and Wilson UP 16m. I think you should try that, Canadian Fella...
I wanna try the Artengo, but I know for sure than the UP to too unforgiving for me, especially against hard hitters
Your balance went up from 31,6 to 31,9. Looking at your issues with your kinetic chain and your specs.. add some lead behind the butt cap and lower that balance to 31,4. Just do it and tell me the difference
You focus too much on static weight. 10 grams static with everything else staying kind of similar means nothing. Only a sweat band on your arm is already 10 grams. But the increased balance throws off the timing that you are used to.
yes sir! (not sarcastic, you've actually predicted the results of the next video)
@@TennCom 😉 I customize heavily myself and i had exact this issue this last year. I have 10 different rackets in my bag all matched to each other and somehow after some changes last year i was losing my timing and it was just not flowing. A major change i did was lower my mgr/i, so i changed it back, some improvement but not the one i needed. Then i was like, maybe my swing weight is wrong so within the 10 rackets i changed some to have lower and higher swing weights while keeping everything else (but static weight) the same. The result was erratic and even slightly worse. Then i was like... Let's lower my balance back to what i used to have. Also on the rackets with other swing weights.
Voila, problem solved
Try the Prestige Tour 2021
its more a 97" than a 95" just slightly narrower than the Pure Strike 98 and actually a bit longer in the hoop than the Pure Strike 98
Those hoop specs from the brands are Wild.
The Pure Strike 98 is 97.5" and the Prestige VS is also 97.5" and the VS is actually more spin friendly.
The Prestige Tour has wider spacing in the mains than the Pure Strike 98 but narrower than the Pure Strike VS.
To find power and confidence in your strokes try to use lower powered frame or.even just string setup. Too easy rackets means sometimes lazy/degradated swings.
I think a difference between you and Djoker is that he gives himself more space for the storke by keeping the racket a little further out on the right side, so when he starts the stroke he is not getting jammed up like you. Once your racket starts to drop it gets behind your body a bit and is pulled out to the right instead of forward on initial trunk rotation.
I agree, I've been trying to maintain space on my take back with better left arm extension!
I play with tecnifibre iso 305 335 gr SW 332 without dampener.i have it in my bag a year now .its demanding but i use it against heavy hitters with succes. The other rackets this year was ezone 100 ,aero 23, extreme mp ,yonex 100 (i sold them all) and now head gravity tour 360+.all these rackets gave me something that iso had not .But in touraments i use iso.i feel confident with it.I like it and i dont ,but i m getting used to it.And i m improving my tecnique. And i m coming to the conclution that there is not a stick that gines you all.but if you play with one racket you can play better and better. So i allready have a "problem" as a tennis nerd!
You play a spinny ball which makes it harder to get control with a tenser string pattern even though the specs are nearly the same. In order to control the whiteout better you would need a cleaner and longer stroke but since your stroke is more wristy and your elbow gets tucked in close to your body and even behind your back you struggle to achieve that. My recommendation would be to take back the elbow more towards the fence with a more straightend arm instead of tuck the elbow so far in behind your back. Your body simply blocks your elbow from moving forward because it has to move around your body first. On a good day, like you said, it works out because your upper body rotation seems to be on point but when you get a bit lazy these problems occur.
Great point about reaching back more instead of twisting. I've noticed when I do this, power comes a lot more natural, just gotta retrain
After watching it again, it seems like you focus too much on being compact and the result is that you are way too compact (tucked in) and you overrate with your upper body at the take back. Pause the video at 2:50 and you can see that when Djokovic`s left arm is already pointing towards his opponent, your left arm is pointing to the back fence what is ultimately too much. You can see that too in your comparison between 2021 and 2023 - at contact your right shoulder lags behind where at the 2021 video your right shoulder is leading. So yes, you twist and disconnect your upper body from your lower body.
But mate, I've been analyzing my strokes for so long that now when I'm not happy with my tennis I always remember two things: if it feels forced it's wrong and the simpler the better. For me it's a constant battle against doing too much.
Just play with 4 different rackets, and have fun. Tinker with string tension to offset.
It ain't that complicated.
Played with VS prior to WO ... no way its better than WO. Cosmetic is nice but more difficult to hit with and generate power.
dude, swingweight and staticweight are definitly too much for your level and phisicality.
I know that plow throuh and stability are addictive. But let's be honnest...
330SW is well within the range for any 3.0
not with 345g staticweight !@@TennCom
If you played your best with the PA98 why not tinker with that?
i tried but i dont find it that fun to use
Oof! Missing man formation fly-by for the Whiteout. Didn't see that coming....Well, that PS VS video....umm, maybe we did. You know what they say, love is blind, but the neighbours ain't.
hahahaha
It's not the racquet Beckett
You could play a bunch of competitive league or tournament matches with different racquets and compare results. If nothing is causing injury, then it just comes down to whatever makes you play better; this should be reflected in better records/scores.
That said, the Extreme Tours (having used them) seem to encourage good modern mechanics for some reason.
great suggestion backed by reason and evidence... too much reason and evidence
@@TennCom I am a social science professor, so it's good that you find my suggestion overly logical and evidence based. ;)
Have you compared records?
Your forehand is much better with the head extreme tour than with the whiteout for whatever reason. You seem to be more of a spin hitter than a flat hitter. Which is why I’m sure you’ve liked the extreme/aero racquets etc. I didn’t watch all your videos, but I was a little surprised a player such as yourself switched to a straight beam 18x20 racquet. Unless you really liked the control
Yeah I really didn't think that the Whiteout was going to work for me when I saw the specs, which I why it took my so long to try them, even after I got them to test. I think the layup makes the racquet a lot more inherently powerful and spin friendly than something like the Extreme Tour.
this is legit nothing to do with the racquet everything to do with overthinking
oh wow this was a great wake up call for me thank you
My Whiteout just landed yesterday. Hopefully I have a better time with it. 😂
whiteout is still an amazing racquet that i highly recommend
@@TennCom cool. I’ll be doing some comparisons to my Bab Aero 98.
i think pure strike vs 2022 is most underratted racquet in the market It has beautiful paintjob, more spin, quite arm friendly although babolat
Based on viewing your playing style/videos for a while, here are my best guesses
- The whiteout's balance is out of whack for your wrist/arm strength,, so you are not able to comfortably take back as you used to with xtreme tour, may be make it even more headlight
- You also have wristy strokes, so with the increased twist weight you are not able to control the face of the racket as well as you can with the xtreme tour
excellent hypotheses
Agree with this hypothesis, Do you think you went too far down the rabbit hole with customisation of your whiteouts? I would think the stock version would address these issues mentioned.
Why the Sopranos ending? 😂
bad writing mainly (on my part, not the sopranos)
bumping my swingweight helped me fix my contact point
that works for me, but only for 15mins then i get too tired
Narrator:
He was, in fact, not done with the Solinco Whiteout.
No offense… there is some merit to just playing with the racquet and improving your strokes. No hate I love your channel but ive played with pure drives for some time and want a bit more control but ive had to learn that and grow my game into the racquet.
With that said, that pure strike vs does look pretty sexy…
there is extreme merit to improving your strokes but i prefer to blame the racquet
of course u are done...
Beckett - VCORE 98 Tour is the answer to all your problems...........give it a try and bring us the video review!
Speed pro is delicious. Strike vs tooo
Wanna win matches? Forget gear and work on footwork. But as we are all true gear heads, I think you should switch again.
Give the CX 400 Tour or CX 200 OS a try. Mega underrated.
ive retired from real matches and only play my jenky TTT matches where im allowed to cheat
CX 400 Tour is great stick. Played mine one season and I still love it, but it felt just a little inconsistent. Maybe stringbed, my technique or footwork is to blame, but I wanted to try Head Auxetic Radical MP. I always liked Radicals and wanted little bit more control but it was risky try because I got shoulder pain from Graphene 360 Pro version that was much stiffer though. So I took the risk and... my shoulder is in pain again. Funny thing is that flex is three points less than CX 400 Tour. Because I am sick of trying rackets over and over and I want to finally stick with something, I am giving the last chance to CX 200 that I am going to start testing tommorow. If I don't like it after few months I'll just go back to my CX 400 Tour. It has outstanding feel for 100 head size and nice blend of power, control and spin. It's sad that nobody talks about it.
@@peterkonc8168I am a pure strike VS user and I just bought the CX400 tour since it was on sale. I gotta say that its a 100 sq inch racquet but i felt like it plays like a 97sq inch in a good way. I have a 1 HBH and still is ok with it. I am still on the testing stage since I have only played with it for 3 hours since I got it but I think I got more blend of control with power that I wanted in a racquet which I did not quite have with my PSVS until I added lead tape and reached 315 unstrung weight which I think I could get used to. I am still keeping my PSVS but will try the CX400 tour for now.
I love getting into the gear don't get me wrong, but when it comes down to it tennis is more of a mental game than anything. The never ending racquet journey cannot be good for your game.
its not but its good for my CZcams which i have at least as much fun doing
I would too! Keep it up
Your Whiteout will be comfortable to the Extreme Tour, even more manoeuvrable, if you add a total of 6 gm as follows: 1 gm at 12 o'clock, 5 gm on the buttcap or inside. This will increase your swing weight by about 3.5 points, will bring the balance point down to 31.5 cm and will give you a 172.3 recoil weight and MGR/I of 20.83
thanks for the suggestion! I have explored the configuration in my calculations too but I worry that 333+ SW is going to be more than I can handle over 3 sets.
Hi again, I apologise for sounding persistent, but I am trying to help you enjoy your whiteout with different configuration. If you're happy with its current swing weight of 331 then you only need to add 4 gm to the butt cap (insignificant increase to the static weight,) which will bring the balance to 31.5 cm, will give you a near-perfect RW of 169.7, with the SW staying at 331 and your MGR/I will remain the at 20.9. According to the figures you've displayed, the whiteout is more stable than the Extreme Tour which is indicative in the twist weight of 14.6 vs 13.5. I apologise again as I don't mean to presume; this is just in case the small, 4 gm on the bath cap had passed under the radar..@@TennCom
@@raidraid6672 that’s pretty close to what I’m working with now. The handle is foam filled so there isn’t much space behind the trap door so the lead has to go under the replacement grip.
I’m pretty happy with things at 343g | 31.6cm | 331 SW | 171 RW | 20.7 MGR/i
@@TennCom 👍
OK, I have to admit my racquet journey is heavily weighted by the Tennis Warehouse review scoring, and more specifically, how Chris and Mark rate their performance. Sure, I have a target weight(11.6oz), twistweight (15) and swingweight(325) to narrow the field but I'm afraid you are going too far down the rabbit hole. Having played with extended-length racquets, I can tell you that your forehand looks cramped from this. Go back to 27 inches!!!
I am using the 27! Maybe i need a junior frame
The Prestige MP 2021 is a better version of Technifibre 305
Pure Strike 98 16x19 3rd gen is a better version of the Solinco Whiteout.
Just put a leather grip on the Pure Strike 98 16x 19 3rd gen. and you are probably right in your dream racket world.
I was never a big fan of the 3rd gen because of the clunky head weight and muted feel. WO doesn't have either of those.
@@TennCom Ok. Cool.
My new but dirt cheap on sale 4 x PS 98 16 x 19 3rd gen, I bought september 2023, has no clunky head weight I think. Balance is strung 33.5 . And the weight is spot on the announced specs.
I guess they fixed it in the later production shipments.
Some hate the socalled muted feel by the visco-elastic membrane in the layup and some say makes it feels better and more forgiving. My elbow likes it. I used to play table tennis and feel was not a thing in that game. So I only care not to get vibrations to the joints. A tennis entusiast told me that feel is registred by brain only a nano-second after the ball is again out the stringbed. So its a dopamine response thing and not really something that can improve the game.
I dont use PS 98 16x19 with vibro-dampener. And I put on leather grip to get the balance to 33.
Then VAMOS!
Cheers.
Lol i bought a whiteout based on your recommendation.😊
you are imagining things bro:))
Beckett, I have scientifically analyzed your stroke technique and the perfect racquet for you would be the Wilson Clash. JK good luck finding the right racquet!
objectively correct answer
Shoot, now I need to sell mine :-) JK, love them!
There is no substitute for mass
Only 4 comfort, not performance
not vain! go psvs!
Pavs
Racquet change isnt gonna isnt gonna improve your tennis.
You dont have to copy Djokovic, your 2021 forehand wasnt bad IMHO
pangaré
If you don't like your forehands, stop hitting it like Nick Kyrgios.
who Hurt u Beckett?
mean commenters
Honeymoon phase is over. Time for a divorce lol
Why don't you improve your tecnique first instead of searching your perfect racket?
because im technically flawless
I tried the White Out 16X19 for a bit and never found it to be a great serving racket. Didn't add anything to my serve. Actually, I played a match with it and after 2-3 horrible service games I switched to an EZone 98 and suddenly served a lot better. I never touched the White Out again.
tbf EZONE 98 is semi goated on serve
@TennCom that's cause you haven't tried the 98+
I bought two of them because of you and had to give them away on eBay and look my ass. Not happy with you
you should probably unsub for your own safety
