Not the most rugged of form factors but the Audio pro C3 offers a taste of hi end hifi in a portable DIY looking box. Fits into the full multiroom system offered by Audio Pro. 25 watt speaker with a ported design and twin tweeters. In this sound test video I will compare the Audio Pro C3 portable speaker with the JBL Xtreme 3 and the Anker Soundcore Motion Boom.

    Alan Ross Reviews Top Picks:
    Pound for pound world champion:
    Soundcore Motion Boom: geni.us/motionboom
Amazingly deep bass to 40hz for its size and price.
    Still worth a look:
My former world champ the Soundcore Motion Plus can still offer great clarity.
    geni.us/soundcoremotionplus
    £50 champion:
Great bass for its size, Soundcore Boost: geni.us/soundcoreboost
    Hi End Picks
    Minirig mk3 2.2 system: geni.us/minirigmk3
Great for portable low deep kick: Onyx Studio 6: geni.us/onyxstudio6
Monitor Like openess but lacks deep bass: geni.us/audioproc3
    Best Micro Options:
    Bose Soundlink Micro (warm): geni.us/bosesoundlinkmicro
    Tribit Stormbox Micxro (clinical): geni.us/tribitstormboxmicro
    Worth a Look:
    W-King T9: geni.us/wkingt9
The T9 is a reasonably loud and balanced party speaker with a big bright detailed sound.
Budget Loud Boombox: no clear winner but my pick for fun outside listen would be:
    W-King X10 geni.us/wkingx10
    Travel Speakers:
    Marshall Stockwell 2: geni.us/stockwell2
offers a decent immersive sound with full and tight bass. Beware though it does go very loud
    JBL Charge 5: geni.us/jblcharge5
Only mono but has a very clear and dynamic sound at low volumes and can go reasonably loud but will become a little screechy over 80%.

    hello there :)
do you tried other audio pro products? for me these speakers are definetly one of the best things i heard, and my audio pro t10 gen 2 was the first speaker that really opened my eyes with whats possible with details, fun, airyness, spacious sound...
i got now the audio pro t8l and the bigger brother the audio pro t14...i love that they can sound fun AND detailed and airy... i put bass and highs up (atm i have no good position for them in my room)... but even then they sound pheonemal, especially with tracks that have acoustic elements and are well mixed... electronic music is also nice if its mixed well... you can really hear what the focus of the mucis producers have been with these... i really love jazz, big band, rock with them because you can hear how well seperated every instrument is because its recorded well and mixed well...
but these speakers are also very forgivable, making medium mixed quality songs also not bad at all...
but i cant understand how someone would love to listen to them without equalizer...
and i also absolutely love that they can have low volume but sound very loud and passionate... even when people are sleeping in the same apartment, you can listen to music with joy, perfect if you have neighbours and stuff...
good and fun audio dont need to cost much... you dont need to spend thousands of dollars to get good audio quality... i spend 250 on the t14 and 170 euros on the t8l... bargain... most people dont know whats possible with good speakers...

I've seen the C3 around in my past speaker researches. It was praised as audiophile-like and I'm happy to finally see some measurements from you. I don't see this as one I would personally be interested in, though. Although sound quality will always be first and foremost for me I think it makes the motion boom look beautiful by comparison (as much as people complain about the boom's anesthetics). I think the (normal) price tag of the C3 is a little hard to swallow as well considering what it offers and that missing mid bass is kind of weird. I am still thinking about picking up the Stockwell 2 at some point. I wonder how the C3 would sound compared to it? 🤔 Awesome review, (as always) Alan! 😁👍👏

I've just bought a C3 and it absolutely wipes the floor with extreme 2. The extreme is louder and produces deeper bass, but in comparision to the C3, sounds muddled and the bass is boomy. Bass lovers will prefer the extreme but people who understand and appreciate sound quality will prefer the C3. It has more clarity and detail, and the lows, mids and highs are of much better quality. Overall it sounds more audiophile. The kids may not appreciate it but those from a more 'hifi' background will. I've owned many speakers/separates from Arcam, Audiolab, Cambridge Audio, KEF, Mission, Q Acoustics, B&W, so know what good sound quality is. Audio Pro have nailed it!!!

Anyone who hears my c3 either ends up singing along to the music or comments on how good it is. Chuck it near the wall and give the bass some support and it sounds very balanced. Down to 60hz with a tiny woofer too is impressive. Also stream through wifi using something like tidal and the quality jumps a lot. I also boost the treble by a couple of notches.

@@alanrossreviews Yeah that make sense, the ported design might work well in a corner to increase the deeper bass though ! And yeah you're right, I've seen reviews on Amazon saying that Motion Boom doesn't have much bass, obviously those people meant upper bass...

C3 does look like a house brick with a carry handle 🤣. More suited to classical perhaps? 🤔

    • @alanrossreviews
      @alanrossreviews  Před 3 lety +1

the queen is in town 👍 i dont think its got the deep bass to do classical justice, or the harmonics if it comes to that but its flat in between that 😋

      @snowqueen7968 Před 3 lety +2

Haha… not quite getting there. My HIFI does the classical stuff justice, haven’t really found any small speakers that work for that, as you need sound stage and balance. I will listen to your audio samples with earphones in a bit, couldn’t hear this one too great on my phone. Seems a bit bright. Would like a comparison to the Motion + maybe? Which is louder? 🤔

    Alan Ross Reviews Top Picks:
    Pound for pound world champion:
    Soundcore Motion Boom: geni.us/motionboom
Amazingly deep bass to 40hz for its size and price.
    Still worth a look:
My former world champ the Soundcore Motion Plus can still offer great clarity.
    geni.us/soundcoremotionplus
    £50 champion:
Great bass for its size, Soundcore Boost: geni.us/soundcoreboost
    Hi End Picks
    Minirig mk3 2.2 system: geni.us/minirigmk3
Great for portable low deep kick: Onyx Studio 6: geni.us/onyxstudio6
Monitor Like openess but lacks deep bass: geni.us/audioproc3
    Best Micro Options:
    Bose Soundlink Micro (warm): geni.us/bosesoundlinkmicro
    Tribit Stormbox Micxro (clinical): geni.us/tribitstormboxmicro
    Worth a Look:
    W-King T9: geni.us/wkingt9
The T9 is a reasonably loud and balanced party speaker with a big bright detailed sound.
Budget Loud Boombox: no clear winner but my pick for fun outside listen would be:
    W-King X10 geni.us/wkingx10
    Travel Speakers:
    Marshall Stockwell 2: geni.us/stockwell2
offers a decent immersive sound with full and tight bass. Beware though it does go very loud
    JBL Charge 5: geni.us/jblcharge5
Only mono but has a very clear and dynamic sound at low volumes and can go reasonably loud but will become a little screechy over 80%.
