  • Introducing our new fly tying series: Pattern of the Month. Every month we will give you a new instructional film. Mikael will tie some of his best flies, show his tying tricks and share the ideas behind our best patterns. Together with this we introduce a subscription service. You can subscribe to either a pack with all the materials or a pack of ready flies. This is a great way to discover some of our innovative patterns, learn how to tie them and fill up your boxes and wallets. Subscribe-sit back-and get ready for a new exciting fly tying experience every month!
    Pahtakorva is our best-known pattern. A fly that has taken tens of thousands of great fish on salmon rivers around the world. A fantastic fly voted the best fly on the world’s best salmon river: The Alta. It’s a general fly-a fly that works on various conditions. This TTT version is a hot modern pattern that now is the no.1 on our catching list. It was natural for us to start our film series and subscription service with this great fly - enjoy!

    I've just had to tie a wee Dee Sheep after watching this. I really must try some of this style of fly but in black, I think they would be great flies for night fishing for sea trout. Thank you Mikael, stay safe!

    Hi Michael Frødin.
    Pretty and airy taped wing that lets the light through, so the colors be right.
    Here i learned more small details about the fly wing. 🐥 Thanks 👍

    Mikael Great fly pattern , was wandering how you rigged it now I know . I really like the option of building the body to fit the circumstances it brings so much versatility to the fly. Have been using some of your other flies here in Montana for trout and they work great . Just received your fits starter kit , been tying for 30 years never tied tube flies , it looks like it will really open up my options for my trout Spey endeavors . Thanks

    You tie hackle opposite way than thread, any reasons for? I thought is better to tie same way materials with thread so it would tighten them better...

    • @frodinflies
      @frodinflies  Před 2 lety +1

      i do think the opposite.. one material one way the next the other... this tightens things best... but most important use a thread that stretches enough and pull hard!
