We are back with some more BT-16 Matchplay for you all and today we are blessed by the return of TJ! These matches were filmed at Dean's Dugout and we are excited to bring back some off-meta decks as the crew looks to unwind after a long and grueling regionals grind. If we did best of ones I'd leave the game. Bricking is an inevitably and not having a game 2 or 3 to balance out a game 1 brick would be horrific.

12:48 he could’ve grabbed the grace here since lekis lets him grab night claw then light fang or galaxy so a second hit was missed

One of our locals just swapped to best of 1 because of time issues and we'll see how that goes aswell

The Omni X couldn't swing in game 2. It was under the effects of the blue lvl5

Yup, that's also what happens to my stack in game 3. I asked Jorge in the middle of game 2 or 3 if he needed to have a specific source count to use Crescemon's effect, but the effect does just get to go off regardless.

Additional context here for Game 1: I auto piloted while doing initial shuffles and when I grabbed the top 8 or so cards to see what I'd get, instead of splitting the first 5 cards off from the rest of the pile I just revealed entire stack. I immediately realize what I've done, so I mulligan (because it's only fair) and the rest you see on cam.

At 7:30 you could have just paid 1 for the Evo in the back instead of 0 and passing turn to 3

No I couldn't. The Bt12 Black/Red Agumon only evolves from a Black Egg for 1 or a Koromon for 0. It's not a dual colored evolution circle like the Bt12 Yellow/Red Agumon.

I mean we tried best of 1 in our locals because we didn’t have enough time for locals that day , it produced mixed results,but personally I thought they might change it to best of one since one piece is a best of 1 and matches take longer because of high cost option cards and longer combos in general.

They did it for GenCon last year due to time constraints and i think definitely changed how the results playe dout

You’d think Jorge would have learned from the last game about the x antibody, he seems to make the same mistakes throughout the games and doesn’t learn as he goes

That's kind of unfair to say: Jorge in both game 2 & 3 completely decimated my stack's sources and aggression but was unable to fully remove the lv6 which he's then punished with. He also was unlucky enough where I drew Omnimon X and X antibody and then I was able to use that pair to clear a decently thick-sourced lv6 in both games. Jorge and I chatted a bit after game 3 and he admitted that he needed the Blue Tamer on the field (and he didn't see one yet) to go into Apollomon which would've then cleared a lot of security and removed my lv6. Might've even gotten the GraceNova out too, but I am unsure if he had a GraceNova in hand yet.

@@greycs7394 the Omni x had happened in game 2 and he full sent a source strip as opposed to attacking early on in with the Agus in game 3, he could have even started doing another stack using the agumon too
