    When you said about people wanting to race all the time and driving like plonks around you, I totally agree. I am 50 and in my track 172 people CONSTANTLY want to race at lights or sit on my rear bumper.

    This review is spot on,i own one of these and its a fantastic car,puts a smile on my face every day, ive done backbox delete and air intake upgrade so far and its already transformed the car, a simple few upgrades and a map and this car will be as much as anyone needs imo, if you want a cheap to run for the ratio to performance its amazing tbh

      Thanks. I love it and have no concerns racing around in it as an “old” 😂 Upgrades? Very interested. We discuss some possible upgrades in the next RS video. Would be interested in your thoughts. Thanks for watching and your comments.

    Had mine for 3 months now, really enjoying it. Previous car was a Rs Megane 275, try one of those if you get a chance. It's not actually a cup chassis on the Trophy, it's even firmer but the hydraulic bump stops help the damping. I do actually prefer a manual but the Edc is very impressive, especially using it in manual in either sport or race mode. Mines had a mid box delete, opens it up nicely. Look forward to more videos, subscribed. 👍👍

    • @LivetoDriveUK
      @LivetoDriveUK  Před 3 lety

      It is a “Trophy” chassis as you rightly say. I think I must have enjoyed too many Clio Cup races 😂 I think I may refer to it in a future (already filmed) video but will make sure I call it correctly in future. Mid box delete sounds interesting. I discuss a couple of possible upgrades in the next video and would be interested to see what your opinions are. Thanks for your comments and for subscribing. We do also put other content on here from old classic cars, car meets and shows (future planned) and anything really related to cars but if you are only interested in the Clio please stay tuned. You could always ignore the “other” videos and come back for the Clio 💪

      @@LivetoDriveUK Check out a company called Zaustworks, think a straight pipe for the mid box is around £55 and it's an easy install. It's post cat so doesn't effect emissions for an Mot. Mine is Flame red too, looks great. 👍👍

  • @gianlucaantoniocamilleri1966

    Unfortuantely the mk4 RS was put in the shadows when it came out. Its not Renault Sport's fault though, the people who used to review it when it came out are at fault for this. I could not believe that some automotive reporters, who are renowned for reviewing cars, never stuck the thing into Race Mode, thus leaving the Clio in a bit of 'comfort' level. I'd have the Renault chassis over the Ford any day, anytime. The Renault Sport is far more balanced and has the hot hatch feel to it as soon as you step inside. I personally believe this car is a future classic. People are finally starting to appreciate. Great honest review btw. Annd with some RS Performance mods, one can have a great car.

    • @LivetoDriveUK
      @LivetoDriveUK  Před 3 lety +1

      I agree with you completely. I believe early road testers had a downer on the Clio RS and it stuck. Doubtless they all read each other’s review. The only review I have found I like and agree with is Chris Harris’s review. It was an early example, non-trophy model and I feel he was very fair and ultimately he liked the car. If you are buying it SH, try to get one with leather interior, the seats are way way nicer looking and feeling. And also look for the optional Akrapovic exhaust, it was a factory option, but it changes the engine sound A LOT, while still being totally road legal. PS4 tyres are a must, the original SuperSports that were fitted had 70% of the PS4 grip, so you do notice the ABS/TC comming in to limit the slip, since there is no mechanical front diff, the Clio handles it by breaking. Easy mods that you might want to add: Air Intake (if you want a cheap stage 1 soft) and Brembo front 4 pot calipers (Clio 3RS will work). That will make the car track ready and you will have fun with it on the road and on the track!

    • @LivetoDriveUK
      @LivetoDriveUK  Před 3 lety +1

      I agree about the seats. Watched many CZcams videos with cars that have the Akrapovic exhaust and must admit I wouldn’t have been disappointed if mine had it fitted. I am very happy with the Michelin’s and we discuss possible upgrades in the next video. Thanks for watching and your comments.

      @@LivetoDriveUK cool, cool! I'm going to do the Brembo 4 pot on the front and call it a day in terms of upgrades, for now. Tho I was considering doing a suspension upgrade as well, the roads where I drive are kinda trash and it's kinda harsh. From the Clio RS FB Group they are recommending KW V3 Coilovers as they are 12 clicks adjustable....but 2k euro price tag 😅

    I think ppl are starting to realise that actually that this is a really good car and you have to drive it yourself. There’s a lot of negativity around this car and its all because of the gearbox and to be honest I had a mk3 Clio R.S. and I wasn’t impressed with the manual gearbox it was clunky and wouldnt go into first gear when you first started it up had to put it into second then into first. And let’s be honest the fiesta st is a bit of a chavs car lol mk4 Clio R.S. all the way for me.

    • @LivetoDriveUK
      @LivetoDriveUK  Před 3 lety +1

      I do really like the Fiesta but I also feel it is a little over sold by critics. The chassis on the Clio with the Michelin Sport Pilot 4’s, in my opinion, would beat it on any road. Totally agree that the RS was underrated but many are noticing what they are missing. Love mine and hope to get some gentle upgrades soon. Thanks for watching and your comments.

    Most of the time driving on our congested roads the auto box is far superior in the constant stop start driving most of us encounter nearly every day. If you want a blast the auto is far faster than a manual change, or use the paddles if you prefer put it in race mode.

    • @LivetoDriveUK
      @LivetoDriveUK  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes and this is a great point about the Clio RS. You can drive it like my gran and you would hardly know it was a fast hatch. But, put it in race mode, change them gears on the change up beep and you are having a real laugh. At 53 I need that. Thanks again for watching and your comments. Appreciated.

  • @AbandonEarth911
    @AbandonEarth911 Před 3 lety +1

    Fiesta ST is a nice hatch, but the RS Trophy blows it away. Looks far better and much rarer, also manual gears are old hat the paddle shift gears are the way to go, look at all the super cars etc. The handling grip is awesome, put it in sport or race mode for a blast it's a hoot. the 0-60 is something that is not crucial, what is more useful is the way the RS goes when it's on the move.

    • @LivetoDriveUK
      @LivetoDriveUK  Před 3 lety +1

      I believe the Clio got a bad press. Most critics didn’t gel to it and people stayed away. You are right to say they are quite rare. I like that. A lot. Only car journalist I know that liked it was Chris Harris (video on CZcams) who loved it and that one wasn’t a Trophy.
