this movie had me on the edge of my seat. i was so fricking worried for tom cruises character and had heart palpations like every two damn seconds. my emotions can't take this sort of uncertainty or worrying for movie characters
superb fantastic movie..we donno real incident, but very wel adopted to screen..i felt seeing in real place....!! superb acting by tom cruise...i liked this movie of him alot than his other actings.... direction-acting-sound-camera all field god...i have seen it many times n wil do again..i have it in system..tom cruise rocks....we hope to see such movies...all teh best dudes..
it said that the main character tom was playing, that they both had A LOT of resemble so thats why tom played in that movie. also cause he is a really good actor. also, a lot of actors in this movie are also from other great world war 2 movies.. like the downfall, the black book, etc. i find that so cool how all those actors from those movie came to play in this one!!! :)
I love how expressing frustration with something is met with people telling you to essentially "fuck off and deal with" instead of people argueing their points and sides.
I'm from Germany and I think the film is very sad. Although I already knew the ending. It's a shame that in a few years all will forget what these men have done. What they have sacrificed. May you rest in peace. Stauffenberg.
has anyone else notice all the movies at this year is all on Tom Criuse, how does he pull it off??? It's aazing. I came here to watch Tom, Bill and Eddie. Their roles frightened me.
@kesselster There was a Panzer III. The Panzer V was the Panther but that didnt enter service till 1943. Now I've looked again I think the tank at 0:41 is a Panzer IV.
@ToonandBBfan There was? Okay, my mistake then; the Pazer 3 was intended as a IFV to serve alongside the Panzer 5. Okay...I'll look...yeah, I think you're right. It has three upper-treads on the tracks.
@ILINI85 "At least this film is trying to be respectful and accurate; which is more than most American films can say." For once, we agree on something. And yes, it does have German cast and crew and was partly filmed in Deutschland, but it was made by English speakers, for an English speaking audience. QED.
This movie was awesome! Does anyone know the song that starts at 1:45 ? I heard it on a Devin Hester tribute video once, and I haven't ever been able to find out the name of the song..
absolutely Brilliant what a fantastic film, now I like Tom Cruise before I didnt like him but now its all good baby :) on a serious note, tragic he never suceeded he really was so close
That song in particular is called "Hello Zepp". This can be found in iTunes under SAW (Original Soundtrack). Downloaded it today...... and it is stuck in my head. I'm also pissed at someone so....... yeah two wrongs don't make a right.
There was a resistance network within the Wehrmacht that since 1938 aimed to remove Hitler from power. Tresckow sympathised with them from the beginning, whereas Stauffenberg needed longer to fully realize the criminal nature of the Nazi state. In a brutal regime, progaganda and group pressure ("Do not foul your own nest") often hinder resistance. But since 1943 Stauffenberg's motives were mainly moral (read "Tresckow", "Stauffenberg" in Wikipedia or (many) other sources).
Pretty good film. It showed a piece of history that the rest of the world doesn't know and gave awareness of Germany's noble deed within its tarnished history.. And yea, I actually read up more on' Valkyrie' after the movie.
I´m so glad that this movie was not made by us Germans ,and that no german hand was involved in producing that Movie......Otherwisw people would have propatley steped up to us and sayed: Ohh...Look at the germans...they just try to find another excuse for WW2.
sincerely, I love Germany, the german music, German girls :) , I like even your language. I respect your country for wolkwswagen, I respect it for technology, I respect Germany for having so many genuine genius people like Einstein and other people...
Men like Stauffenberg, Beck, Tresckow, Olbricht and many others like them will never be forgotten. They died trying to save the world from an evil tyrant. Something like that is never erased from history
Too bad that too many people don't know who Stauffenberg is and what he did. I was one of those people, and I regret that. For now on, I will always remember Stauffenberg as a hero, even though he didn't succeed in 'rescueing Germany'. He tried, and when he was executed, he didn't fear his death. There was also a beautiful quote he said at the end of the movie, before he was executed. I can't remember it anymore. However, as I said before, I will always remember Stauffenberg as a hero
@futurebestseller84 His verbal acting apart, his overall acting as the general was one of the finest and most ample performances of his career. Kudos to him for staying strong.
@JaguarsSoul Before Stauffenberg was executed he yelled, " Long Live Sacred Germany!" It was the saying of The German Resistance. The German resistance believed that if they could overthrow the Nazi Gorvernment they could bring Germany, and Europe, back to the cherished times. The times of peace, unity, and freedom. This was their cause and they were willing to die for it.
Honestly. When the Saw theme song started playing. I was expecting Jigsaw to come and say "I want to play a Game."
Honestly Colonel Claus von Stauffenber was a legend, and a good German
I salute him from my bottom of heart and his followers !

@ILINI85 "At least this film is trying to be respectful and accurate; which is more than most American films can say." For once, we agree on something. Excellent historic war drama, very near to the historic truth!
Pretty good film. It showed a piece of history that the rest of the world doesn't know and gave awareness of Germany's noble deed within its tarnished history.. And yea, I actually read up more on' Valkyrie' after the movie.

It's because it *is* the music from the Saw series ;-) It was also used in the trailers for The Box and Deja Vu

@MrMarioheat The trailers were The Box(2009) Valkyrie(2008) and Deja VU(2006)

Allah loves those who kill in His cause Nazis are not the same as Germans.
the first country the nazis invade was Germany, and this is coming from a brit.
sincerely, I love Germany, the german music, German girls :) , I like even your language. I respect your country for wolkwswagen, I respect it for technology, I respect Germany for having so many genuine genius people like Einstein and other people...
would have liked German accents though throughout the movie.....love the German language by the way
I mean it isnt the peoples fault that live today in Germany
It's very difficult to take this trailer seriously when you keep expecting Jigsaw to come around the corner on his wee bicycle.
What's the song title at the end...I've literally been trying to find this song for months X/
Love it

Why are there advertisements I see before the trailer? It's having an ad within an ad.
But remember nothing ever goes according to the plan.....what a line.
@vidaett yes
nicht nur, das es traurig ist, jedes mal wenn ich den film sehe hoffe ich erneut dass sie es schaffen.
