    I'm planning to go here this fall(2022) as a freshman and was wondering if the reviews online about roaches in the shower drains/rooms are true. I was also wondering if you decided to live in building 1 or building 2 and what floor you recommend for less noise:) THIS VIDEO WAS VERY HELPFUL BTW, THANK UUU

    • @claireemercier
      @claireemercier Před 2 lety +1

      Ofc!!! 😆😆 I have never seen roaches in my shower drain, and to my knowledge, no one else I know who lives here has either. I didn't choose my building and I ended up on the second floor of building 1, and I love it because it's so convenient to get to from the parking garage! My only complaint with the location is that my room is right next to dumpsters that are REALLY loud when the trash people come. I would probably recommend the 5th floor for the least amount of noise because it's farthest away from ground noise and no one will be above you :) Hopefully that helps! Thanks for watching ❤️

    Do you have to pay for electricy, gas, and, water/ trash disposal or is it just a fixed rate of $700/month

    • @claireemercier
      @claireemercier Před 2 lety +1

      I pay the $749/month and that includes all utilities unless we go over our utility cap (we never have)! The only extra I pay is $30/month for parking :)

    Omg ty so much for uploading this! I know I'm late but are some of the recent reviews true? With the management being bad/matinance being poor? Does it vary from building to building?
    Thank you in advance if you end up answering!

    • @claireemercier
      @claireemercier Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely!! Happy to help 😊 Management has always been very friendly with me, but in order to get anything fixed in your apartment that isn't super urgent, you have to bug maintenance for a while before they ever get around to it. I wouldn't say it's a dealbreaker for living at IQ -- I would go back next year if I could! But if you have cosmetic damages, need something small fixed, etc, expect to have to contact IQ multiple times before they ever do anything about it. If something big happens though, they get on it pretty quickly - for instance, the refrigerator in the unit above mine started leaking one morning at like 6am, and we called maintenance and they only took a couple of hours to show up and start working on the water coming from the ceiling. Hopefully that helps!!

    • @claireemercier
      @claireemercier Před 2 lety +1

      I don't believe there would be a difference in management/maintenance from building to building either!!

    • @claireemercier
      @claireemercier Před rokem

      Ahhhh I’m not too sure on that, but I'd recommend just making a list of pet-friendly options and call them one by one to see what their policy is. I found this spreadsheet of USF off-campus housing options on Reddit and it may be of some help to you! www.dropbox.com/s/g2wgxj47njq89i4/USF%20Off%20Campus%20Housing.xlsx?dl=0

      I know a lot of people at USF who balance school and a part-time job!! I am not sure if their job fully funds their living in Tampa, however. A lot of my friends are getting help from their parents or are using savings to be here!
