they had mics in the original version, but the recording was on a college budget (aka not very good) and a lot of the parts were drowned out by laughter.
I'm pretty sure they had hanging mics that fought more of the audiences noise than the actors

This was my very first time at Elsie and the only reason I went was because of StarKid. My first introduction to StarKid was AVPM when I was 13 and less then a year after it came out. To finally see them perform at 24 and to see how far they have come since then made me so happy and proud of all they have accomplished.
