I can't believe Kevin is talking about the Fort Walton cop who shot that guy in the car. I live just up the road where this happened. He didn't need training. He shouldn't be anywhere near a badge and gun.

As someone who was a camp counselor and also has taken care of kids in many age ranges, they are FAST. I 100% would bet my life that kid was in the claw machine before the dad notice what was going on. Especially since it looks like the dad had a second kid to look after.

@@ThreadBomb often times the company who owns the claw machine is completely independent from the store its in! I bet they couldn't get in contact with the retailer who had a key to unlock it, and after a while it was safer to break the glass then to leave the kid in there longer.

Also, at 11:53 you point out AMBULANCE is spelled backwards. We do that in Australia too; it's so people who look in their rear-view mirror read it the right way around in a hurry. You know, if they somehow missed the flashing lights, siren, and fluorescent colours.

That pigeon did not look like it had an innocent cell in it's body. It's body language was all over the place, no offense but I'm starting to doubt the Indian police force if they let such an obviously guilty suspect go. This just goes to show that the justice systems of the world are horribly made.

I'm fairly certain it was a post traumatic stress response, which will likely cause a chain reaction for the detainee to suffer post traumatic stress. A vicious cycle that needs less "training" and more therapy, in my honest opinion.
I've recently listened to one of my dad's friends who wrote a poem about the acorns hitting her aluminium porch roof sounding like older artillery. It's not a stretch to imagine someone with more traumatic experiences reacting more strongly. A large portion of the American Police force are Veterans already.

(not sure what, haven't seen that documented. Knee-jerk reaction is to say death threats, but I don't recall ever seeing that be confirmed, although -> ) He was also alleged to be armed and intending to act on those threats.
So, picture this, you're chasing a guy who just stole his girlfriend's car, is allegedly armed, and has made threats that they appear to be acting on. You arrest that person and detain them, but don't find a weapon. You then hear a loud noise from behind you, coming from the car that they're detained in.
Yeah, it ain't exactly wild to assume, 'fuck, we missed the weapon, and they just fired it'. Also, the adrenaline shock from that fight or flight moment could have reasonably made them think they had been hit. It's actually extremely common for GSW's to not actually feel painful initially. Our bodies just didn't evolve pain receptors for that sort of thing, so it's pretty common for people to be hit and not actually feel it initially. So, if all that happens, then in-the-moment you feel your legs go numb, yeah, it's not unreasonable to think you might have been hit.
It's easy to meme on but, as with most things, it only sounds insane when you don't have context or understand GSWs but in-context it's not really all that unreasonable all things considered. IMO it's really only even being reported on a lot because it plays into the 'cops bad and/or incompetent' political push.

In the southern US, we use Beauregard in Atlanta instead of Puxatawney Phil. Yes, the groundhogs have become regional. Yes, it is still insane.
General Beauregard Lee is his full name! He lives in a tiny mansion, and he is reportedly the most actually accurate groundhog in the game. We don't have an "interpreter" for his decision. They open his front door and if he decides to go out and stay out, then it's an early spring. If he either doesn't come out or comes out and "sees his shadow" (goes back inside), then six more weeks of winter.

You spot the kiddo, turn to do something, turn back, and suddenly they’re under the desk or they’ve got their leg stuck between the shelf and the wall. But also, yeah, Dad wasn’t watching. Probably for a while. Maybe he went to go get food for them both (looked like a food court) and told him not to move, but by the time he looked back, Junior was already in there.

Wait until you find out about the Nebraska groundhog, Unadilla Bill. It's a lot like Punxsutawney Phil except it's been dead for decades. They still trot it out every year and pretend it's predicting the weather, because rural Nebraskans are not far removed from the villagers in Midsommar.
Also, worth noting that in New York uniquely, the Supreme Court is not the state's high court: It's the state's trial court, with two layers of state courts that can hear appeals from it. It's supposedly called "supreme" because it has general jurisdiction, but I think it's really just to annoy people.
In the early 90s, my friend and I created a show for local college radio called "The Weak News". Aside from the horrible title, it was an absolute blast and taught me that stories like this are everywhere, all the time. Generally, people are stupid. But if necessary, we could have just used news out of Florida, for some reason...
