Cannes is the third biggest city on French Riviera - after Nice and Antibes - counting some 73 000 inhabitants.

While you have heard of Cannes as the host city of the annual Cannes film festival, there is much more to this city than film. Ever since the 19th century it’s been associated with the rich and famous, with its luxury hotels and restaurants and all the other events it hosts all around the year. The incredible weather, the palm trees and the sandy beaches make this place a must-visit all year round. But before we get into that, let’s talk a little about the history.
