- The challenges of cycling life are plenty. An around the world bicycle tour gives many freedoms, but too many options can be difficult. Mathias has some thoughts about this, while we continue our journey from Isparta to Konya, Turkey, where we visit the whirling dervishes of Rumi.

The Turkish guy that took you into his home was a legend! I love the feeling of freedom of choice. I find it addictive and it makes me feel alive. Fellow part-time philosopher and cyclist.
Yeah, absolutely. I guess part of our struggle is also that we have very different opinions a lot of the time. I would assume that this is less of a struggle when going solo, but we lack that experience.
Would be interesting to see how you feel once you are on your big journey.
I really enjoyed this video - the honesty, the sense of fun, and the realities of travel on a bike. Keep up the great work! Paul
Thanks for acknowledging. We try our best to show more than Google Street View would do 😅
Amazing again, love the videos. Thank you for sharing not only the landscapes and the ups of your journey but also the intricacies of what traveling means as a couple, the inside truth of the challenges you face. Can't wait to catch up on the videos and be up to date!!
It is so lovely for us to see our work being appreciated like that. Thanks 😊
Personally, I like Mateus talking. Gives me an idea of what he is thinking while out there touring. Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for letting us know. You wouldn't believe how much he is talking in reality 🤣
Great work and thankyou so much for sharing the joys and trials of your journey. I hope this has enriched your lives as a couple!🎉
It has been the most tremendous experience for us indeed!
Your videos are very motivating and teach hard work, self reliance and will to reach the destination despite all obstacles. 👍👍👍 ✌️✌️✌️
Very glad to hear that, thank you!
Welcome to Chiang Mai I met you this morning at the market. I will follow you on CZcams. 10.28 TH 2023 11-9
Hi and thanks! We love the markets in CM. The variety and quality of the food is incredible!
The dusk and early morning scenes in this segment were beautiful. It was also very interesting to see some of 2023 Konya as I‘d been there many times between 1986 and 1993 when I was there on NATO military duties. I was even able to bring my bicycle with me on some occasions. 😊🚲
Oh wow, that must have been a very different city back in the day! We actually passed Konya in the early summer of 2022 and are already further down the road. Since editing the videos takes a lot of time, we fell behind quite a bit. Greetings from the road!
I loved the caption 'Mathias loves talking'. I hadn't noticed 😂
Just a subtle hint 🤣
Amazing the route to Konya, i dont remember mine being so beautiful
Hey Muriel 😘 Did you take another route?
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour yes I rode north of the lake
Awesome... Nice to meet you guys at Cm gate hotel yesterday. Have a safe trip
Hey AJ, same! It was an interesting conversation. We are now in Pai and work on our videos and will then continue the Mae Hong Son loop!
I liked your philosophic rambling.
I am having similar thoughts recently. In the end we mostly regret things that we havent done, more than the ones that we did and went wrong.
Its easy to get stuck with mistakes from the past (or that dont fulfill us the way we expect) because we are afraid that the new step might go wrong, so we just end in a numb life.
You were very brave to do it.
I am at the point of doing a bike mechanic formation (despite having studied two "proper" careers) and i hope i will be able to do the same grand adventures one day.
Thanks for sharing. We both studied towards certain careers and struggled to fit in.
Being on the road is awesome, but has it own big set of challenges. To be fair, we pressure ourselves a lot to make the videos and social media. The traveling is exciting 95% of the time, but we spend half of our time and money for creating content, which is very hard work.
So if we would do it again, certainly without all this.
Tonight we will release our next video and it took us over 2 weeks of full time editing.
Best of luck with your dream, but we strongly advise against doing social media.
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour @AmazingWorldBikeTour for my last bike trip (a few days in Maiorca) i did a video (only 6 minutes long). Its true that it took way more time than i expected. To do several and during a trip it might be a pain in the a**. And a big pressure too, especially if you are trying to bring a big audience to eventually get some € support.
I suppose you know Ioan, the BikeWanderer, maybe you know he committed suicided, he was going through depression (due to health issue and covid lockdown) and it seems that he was feeling a lot of pressure to make content for his youtube account.
I have to think if itsa good idea to make them in the future, possibly some simple stuff mostly for myself and show to the family.
Do you ever consider stopp doing them? It might not be wort hit if it gets a burden and gets you from enjoying your trip.
oh yeah, Iohan! We loved that guy and his journey! He was suffering from insomnia and depression, and it hit us hard as we heard about his suicide. But doing a journey like he did for that long and alone is extremely demanding, both physically and mentally. I can imagine that!
We’re doing this together, so we push each other and cheer each other up, that helps!
The videos are a hard creational process, true… but we are also loving the idea of having documented our journey and sharing it with others. It feels amazing when people we don’t know from all over the world watch our journey, get inspired by it etc…
And I truly believe that nothing great is easy :)) it’s like the view after a heavy climb.
We want to make a full documentary afterwards, so we will continue filming and sharing! :)
If we would restart the journey I might also consider writing a book + photography, instead of filming, as it’s also a nice way of storytelling and takes less film editing and much less time🙂
!!!!! Omg we went the same way!! Chris and I were yelling the whole video, “that’s where we stopped to eat apple lokum!!” “We camped right by there!!” “Thats where the road becomes a dam!” We didn’t ride a horse though, lucky…
Hey you two, how are you doing? Yes, that might happen some more, we believe 😁
Cool
Thanks a lot!
You produce very good content. But it makes me sad that it doesn't get enough attention and views. Have a nice trip.
Thanks for appreciating ☺️ Don’t be sad for anything! We might not have many views, but those who watch us give us a sense of community and support. We appreciate that a lot!
All the best!
and now you are in KYRGYZSTAN WELL WELCOME AND IT'S ME THE BOY FROM THE CAFE😊
Hello and thanks. It was nice to meet you!

I'm confused. Are you in Kyrgyzstan?@@AmazingWorldBikeTour
@@Davido7530 Sorry for the late answer. Our videos are very delayed as the editing takes a lot of time.
Thank you, I really enjoy your videos!
Thank you for letting us know! There is more to come!
I hope a new video will arrive sun ! You’re video is good…hope you’re take care off each other……
Hey there, yes we are working on the next one which should be ready in a few days. Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great video, thanks. What camera are you using?
😃 We use a mix of a Sony A7C w/ Tamron 28-75 f2.8, GoPro Hero 8 and a DJI Mavic Air 2.
What tent are you using??
@johnrobertd748 It is an MSR Elixir 3. It served us well so far. We had 3 tentpoles broken, but 1 time it was clearly our fault. Then we also some very extreme wind situations. We would buy it again.
I am from India
mate you need to put a hat or cap on, you will get sun stroke !
Absolutely, will do that. Unfortunately I keep losing them 😅
Your bycycle is which company
We mostly build them ourselves. We bought second hand bicycles and upgraded them a lot. Arevs frame is a 17 year old MTB Cycletech Andale, Mathias a 7 year old Velotraum Konzept VK2.
We both run 26x2" Schwalbe Marathon tires, Shimano 3x9 with 22/32/44 and 11-36t and v-brakes.
