She found her plane ticket and the conversation she had with Tina 5 days before she went missing
Tina warned her about his behavior when they had a little chat in the cafe in the midst of Ian's attack story but Whitney shrugged off those warnings, also after Tina's murder Whitney found a plane ticket which belonged to Tina in Gray's house.
Well alot of people who have suffered abuse can end up in abusive relationships or falling prey to minipulators and it can be a vicious circle and this can happen more then once until you realize and reconize the signs an Whitney started to become suspicious of Grey and she ended things with him. Plus she was warned by Laura that Grey was not how he seemed. They never finished that storyline off tho
Plot convenience, everyone involved here seems to go from clever to dumb in a heartbeat. Whitney did show great levels of stupidity when staging an argument with Kheeret and then sitting down with him in The Vic
