    The fact that the drums come in with less than a minute left in the song is one of my favorite musical moments. It is just something that adds so much personality to the song. I can't really describe why it is so great but that's sort of how Elliott is all the time.

    A naive unsatisfiable baby
    Grabbing onto whatever's around
    For the soaring high or the crushing down
    Hidden cracks that don't show
    But that constantly just grow
    Looking for the man that attacked me
    While everybody was laughing at me
    You beat it in me, that part of you
    But I'm gonna split us back in two
    Tired of living in a cloud
    If you're gonna say shit now you'll do it out loud
    It's 2:45 in the morning
    And I'm putting myself on warning
    For waking up in an unknown place
    With a recollection you've half-erased
    Looking for somebody's arms
    To wave away past harm
    Walking out on Center Circle

    I don't know how Elliot captured the dead of night. I can feel the emptiness of streets, the echo of lifelessness, the light abandoning purpose of society and anything functioning is tired. The asphalt, the streetlight, the silence, the doubt of anything because there's hardly anything interacting. The loneliness of this song is too much. Then I try to imagine how lonely Elliot must've felt. I'm not an addict but there have been times when my brainpower just crashes for a while. His songs sound like death. He was already buried when he was alive but the music he made is too amazing for time to forget. I'll listen to your voice and guitar until I die too, Elliot.

I wish i would of had the strength to taken the opportunities to make more memories out of them with you instead of overthinking and tiring myself out. Im working hard on my self and opened up to help. I hope i can see you again and maybe reignite our love again. Until then i hope you heal and take care of yourself because i love you. PS: Thanks for showing me Elliot Smiths music i love it even thought its hard to listen to rite now

    The song lyrics describe the narrator's experience of feeling lost and disconnected from the world and others around them. They mention sleepwalking, which could symbolize the feeling of being half-awake and not fully in control of one's actions. The narrator recalls past hurts caused by a boss who couldn't help but hurt them and the person they loved who left them. They describe feeling like a naive and unsatisfiable baby, constantly searching for something to hold onto, but also feeling damaged and scarred from past experiences.
    The narrator is tired of living in a cloud and wants to confront their fears and past experiences head-on. They are looking for someone to help them heal from the harm that was done to them, but ultimately, they decide to take control of their own life and walk away from the past. They mention "center circle," which could symbolize a starting point or a place of new beginnings. The narrator is determined to break away from their past and move forward, fading away from their past hurts and never going back.

    • @championette..
      @championette.. Před 6 lety

      xPg13X
      You obviously don’t understand depression or insomnia... they can co-exist yet occur simultaneously or independently of one another... depending on the particular incident or situation provoking said events. If you haven’t any words of support to offer, perhaps you should refrain from commenting on other’s experiences.

    • @xPg13X
      @xPg13X Před 6 lety

      Championette
      My confusion is due to a person's ability to suffer from insomnia, a condition where a person is unable to sleep in some fashion or another while simultaneously claiming to "sleep walk like crazy" which I'm assuming means you sleep walk often rather than you do insane type things while you sleep walk, ill go with the former anyways as it makes the most sense so you're a man who cannot sleep who also chronically sleepwalks, sleepwalking is only accomplished while a person is in REM sleep so you are able to attain full healthy sleep patterns yet you cannot sleep, something is amiss here

    • @championette..
      @championette.. Před 6 lety +1

      xPg13X
      They aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive of each another... some nights the anxiety keeps one awake while on other occasions it may induce sleepwalking. I just think that calling someone out for their experiences isn’t helpful or supportive. Maybe they aren’t capable of explaining their experiences clearly but that isn’t grounds to deem one a liar or “fake” as you put it. There’s enough negativity in this shitty world... and insulting someone for how they relate to a piece of art, a song fraught with complex emotions, in this case, isn’t helpful... in fact it’s hurtful. Something to think about. Take it easy, friend.

    • @xPg13X
      @xPg13X Před 6 lety

      Championette
      Look I know you're trying to walk away from this with what little dignity you've left so I'm going to give you the help you need to leave as a wiser albeit beaten and bloody fuck up, ahem so sleepwalking and insomnia are mutually elusive because insomnia is a disorder which requires a person to be without sleep for a extended period of time with either consecutive days and nights without sleep or nearly consecutive sleeplessness. Sleepwalking on the other hand requires (as I've mentioned before) a person to be in REM or rapid eye movement sleep which is the rythm of sleep we enter during our deepest periods of rest, it's said to be the most important sleep rythm to achieve and hasamy important functions with regards to regeneration of energy both of physical and mental variety as well as healing functions. Those who suffer from insomnia have the majority of their issues due to their inability to enter REM sleep most of all, so if you are an insomniac i.e. you have long periods of consecutive sleepless days and nights then you cannot claim to have sleep walking issues as well since REM sleep is necessary for a person to sleep walk, now jf he wasn't sujesting that he was experiencing the two conditions simultataneously then that's fucked up but possible, this wasn't my interpretation tho nor is it my argument I've had to engage in with you since you called upon yourself to save the day, why did you come I wonder ? You're not an angel super hero who swoops on down to defend the weak from bullies and villains, no that's what you want people to think of you but youre selfish I can tell, hmm I guess you're looking for validation, desperately seeking it out from anyone even strangers, youre so ravenous for approval that you skipped reading my message in full and embarrassed yourself beyond repair. You came at me with your self professed righteousness and claims of moral superiority hoping for praise from people you don't even know for accomplishing what ends up being petty schoolyard ganging up and bullying haha see I know where I stand and I'm honest in my speech, youre the false one hiding behind a mask of kindness as you judge us all and wait for your chance to attack someone without having to fear the kind of reprisal people like me face, you didn't know what you were getting into I suppose,, now you think on this, the next time you come at someone with your cunt viewpoints that you seem to have developed based on modern Christian fanaticism and good old fashioned American brand arrogance coupled with the sense that you've earned the right to judge even without understanding a God damn thing....cunt
