Compassion and a gentle rebuke to a wayward new Christian partying during Mardi Gras in New Orleans

- A young lady came up to us while preaching in city center New Orleans during Mardi Gras and wanted to give her testimony. She only was saved and baptized a few weeks before this encounter. We helped her understand that if she's a new creation, she cannot live for Jesus and also walk in darkness. God will continue to sanctify her, and I believe we crossed paths for a reason to warn her against going back to her old life. I am trusting in the Lord to continue leading her toward Him. Pray for her and her friend please.

She reminds of myself as a new believer.
I can tell the Lord is working on her and she has a lot of passion for God.
But she's still wrestling with her old self and so did I. I still wanted to party and drink long after being saved.
But by the grace of God I no longer desire those things and I strive to live a righteous life every day, even though I know I will never be perfect as only Jesus was perfect.

Imagine if we fully grasped that our current actions directly impact eternity. When we close our eyes, our eternal destination is determined by how we've lived. Time is short, but eternity is everlasting. It's crucial not to miss the truth about Jesus! He loves us too much to give up on us.

The gospel is the power of God.
Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
The only thing that determine whether you will be with God, are if you believe in Jesus Christ or not.
When you believe you will receive the Holy Spirit and produce good fruits, but its a sanctification process.
It isnt the other way around you wont be with God just because you lived a "good life" you are a sinner and cant be good without the Holy Spirit which you receive when you are Born again spiritually.
Do you understand that you can't live however you want or disobey Him after surrendering your life to Jesus? He's not just your Saviour but also the Lord you've committed to follow. This principle is straightforward and uncomplicated, isn't it?

This is amazing, I have some cousins who live in New Orleans. I pray you keep carrying the work of the Lord ❤️ this is what so many people need in the world and I pray more can see the life saving message of Jesus ❤️❤️❤️
I wish someone would have been this loving, kind and compassionate when I was a teen but instead I was rebuke with anger and exposure to the rest of the church for what they thought was holy shame in front of others it took me years and years to recover from such a hateful thing, because half of what the thought I was doing was not truth they just assumed it. They denied me to get baptized at age 9 instead I began to be rebellious til I was a teenager and that shameful episode happened I totally stopped going to church til I moved to the USA and at 18 gave my whole life back to him and got baptized.
The world needs to hear the good news, praying for you and the team 😊

People that are "completely" following Jesus.are *repulsed* .........and even disgusted by events like Mardi Gras.
True Christians are not out partying and carousing at Mardi Gras. They strongly don't' want to either.
She got saved like three weeks ago. How long did it take for God to clean your life up? It took me a few months to let go of some bad habits. We don’t know anything about her and what her future looks like. Her immodesty is not the root problem, it’s her rebellion. Only God can change her. She is wayward, but there is a war for her soul. What happens to her is between her and the Lord.

I am confused since a Calvinist said Jesus only died for the elect. I wanted to be chosen. Im 29 and may just be confused until eternity.
We will always have free will.
Jesus died for every each one of us, not for "chosen" or elect people. The thing is, not everyone will accept Him as their Saviour that's why people perish.

I’m sure you have sin in your own life that needs to be repented of. Be careful and consider the following.

It is better to give mercy and to receive mercy. She was very clear in that I was telling her that she cannot continue in this sin. That’s why God put us in front of her. She’s a few weeks saved. Sanctification takes time. Pray that she doesn’t go back to the world completely and instead returns to the Lord with a full heart. God decides the rest.
