In 1990, I became a fan of FC Barcelona. As a young boy, I saw my beloved club grow. Young Leo started playing and I kept hoping that it wasn't just one successful season. Time passed and Leo got better every next season. I could not imagine that he could be even better and he was. Crazy awesome unstoppable every season. Last year he won the world championship.I cried from happiness at home. I could not believe what I saw. Messi won the game called football. He said what many of us think, there is a lot of corruption. How is it possible that Messi win two awards in different years for winning a World Cup that happened in a specific year? We know that the criteria for awarding the awards always changed and it almost always benefited what Messi did.
I come back and say, he did not criticize Messi, he simply said what many of us who are awaiting football awards think about those awards, even many fans and Messilover journalists say it.
Well Messi deserved both awards. We are playing AFCON 2023 and Asia Cup 2023 in 2024. It's just the football calendar that is skewed.

If Michael Jordan had left the NBA to go play basketball in Europe and was very average there, scoring 6 points in a single season and spending the rest of his time there in mediocrity, then moving to an even lower ranking basketball league in South America and score a single point all season long, would he still be considered the greatest? No! Neither would Wayne Gretzky or Tom Brady. Messi is like Ronaldinho. Was great for a limited amount of time and then faded away. if it wasn't for Argentina putting together a great team, he wouldn't even be in the spotlight anymore.

Messi is statistically not just the greatest player in football history, but top 3 player in sports history. His stats are an anomaly, let alone his trophies (the most) and he fact that he is flawless in the eye test. Messi is the goat for any rational human being. Cr7 cannot pass or dribble even half a good as Messi, he has less goals per games and attempts 1.5 shots more on average than Messi while scoring less per game. If you take away penalties then it becomes even worse for cr7. It’s not even close in the only thing that he can compare to Messi with, let alone iq, passing and dribbling . Cr7 only wins in aerial duels, pace and hogging the net, at their peak.
