No you're wrong there. Dimebag has been using Randall for many years, even prior to Cowboys From Hell. He also used Dean guitars until Dean went out of business. Once that happened, he went to Washburn. Washburn purchasing Randall was separate and one of the worse things to happen to Randall, since they ended the RG series. He used Krank when he went into Damageplan cuz he was trying to redefine his sound.
He sure did gain weight fast, but he was a bad ass guitar player. I have been waiting to hear him play some blues shit. I love the blues,metal,classic rock. Some industrial. Any more videos with ol' Dime playing more blues?
Whether or not he used drugs he is still a good musician, see him for what he is not for what he he did. And if he did drugs atleast he used them responsibly unlike Phil who overdosed, and don't talk about someone who can't defend themselves. RIP DIMEBAG
